Oh my God, Nathaniel's right: Goodreads is now letting you review individual issues of comic books. Obviously I'm going to need to write detailed essays on my entire 300-issue run of Uncanny X-Men. Which, btw, if you want to buy that, get in touch with me. They're in great shape. I have Giant-Sized X-Men #1 too. Anyway, this was my first issue of X-Men ever, and it's the legendary Mutant Massacre story, where a bunch of hired assassins goes and murders like hundreds of mutants living in the tunnels under New York City, so obviously it totally blew my mind and I collected X-Men comics for the next twenty years. Hooray for Chris Claremont, in the prime of his best-ever run on X-Men, and hooray for the mighty John Romita Jr, and I still crack up every time Prism gets killed. That dude is a wimp.

(True Believer reprint).... first re-read in forever. Wow, pretty violent. Skimmed some of Claremonts wordier panels. Art was off- weird combo of John Romita JR and Bret Blevins (yick)

Read the digital edition.

The story was pretty good, but not top notch. I found the artwork a bit uneven, with some great spots, and others just average.

Absolutely without a doubt one of the very best story arcs in all of the Marvel Universe. The Marauders head deeper into the tunnels bringing death to every Morlock in sight. However the X-Men follow them into the tunnels and both teams engage in a ferocious battle that leaves some members of both teams near death.Capped off by Colossus doing the unthinkable.Taking a life.Hands down one of the best comics i ever read.
