It would be unfair to criticize this book for being trite when I'm reading it almost 20 years after it was written. Perhaps in 1991 it was cutting edge. I do feel justified to judge the quality of the writing. This book reads like a high school term paper. Painful to read. I also get irritated with authors who shamelessly hype their own books and, in this case, their spouse's books.
