And Darren is kinda in a male auction for charity and in a wild moment (and kinda to save his skin from the grips of another bidder) Porchia bids on the man. Without even realizing that her prize?...is 10 days camping in the woods with him and his massive family. Um... lol Fabulous Things The characters were great. Porchia and Darren were cute together. They had great chemistry though it did take them a while to finally get a move on the naughty bits! (I totally thought this was gonna be an erotic romance but nope mainstream contemporary) But it was fun watching them and seeing their relationship change and the teasing that happened. They were nice people too and easy to be around. Definitely a win there. I freaking LOVED Darren's family. They're fun and caring and I am dying to read the rest of their stories. The camping. Now. Yall know I do NOT do nature. But I could seriously get behind the way the Montogmery clan camps. They do it in style! Cabins. Cabins everywhere. With kitchens and running water. Yes, please! The stoyline actually reminded me of Shannon Stacey's Kowalski family and them camping together. Lots of love and family and teasing and just a good time. There was a nice bit of humor in it too which was fun too. There was a tiny bit of danger and while it wasn't my favorite part of the story and felt more like filler at the same time it wasn't bad. It did bring a little drama to the table. So semi-fantabulous? lol Not So Fabulous Things The only real downfall for me was some of the terminology used during sex scenes. There's just nothing sexy about the phrase watery secretions. Nothing. At. All. lol Vulva lips, labial lips, penis, vagina. The terms just didn't really work for me. Give me cock and pussy, please! All in all, though, Texas Hustle had me smiling and completely charmed. It was a great time with a lovely group of people that have me antsy to get to all of their stories. Can't ask for much more than that!

Texas Hustle is a thrilling read with adventure on every page. The romance between Porchia and Darren is sizzling and I for one have no clue how she held out so long. I was enthralled by the storyline and despite this being number six in the series I did not feel as if I had missed a thing, but was intrigued enough to put the first five books on my TBR list. I highly recommend the story of Darren and Porchia as well as the entire Montgomery clan. I wouldn't call him an ex but someone she wanted as a boyfriend, everyone wanted him and for one night she got her wish which changed her life forever. I totally enjoyed this plot of winning Darren in an auction in hopes of putting off her ex until she could work out what to do about him. Things do not go as planned in keeping Darren at arms link as the author heats of the pages filling them with passion. Darren is clueless he has been attracted to Porchia since he first laid eyes on her. He has flirted and has done his best to pull her into his web. Nothing seems to work, he has one week to change all this as he romances her the only way he knows how. Darren is a wonderful character any women would be happy to call hers. He is strong, caring and loving. Nothing comes before family or the women he loves. You have to love his humor and his moves as he takes on the world to keep Porchia safe. Porchia is a sweet woman who has never had a loving family. When she sees how Darren's family acts she is floored she had no idea that families acted this way. As she is pulled into their lives she must remember not to get to close for danger is around every corner. Her family is truly something as I feel you will make up your own mind as to how each reader will feel about her parents. I can't say I cared to much for them but by the end of the book I like her father a little more. I really loved Porchia and could really relate to her and her issues. It is heartbreaking to lose everything with one night and one mistake but to have that mistake come back and bite you is horrible for such a wonderful sweet lady. The author gives you wonderful supporting characters that will keep you laughing with all they do. I can't say the ex was even close to being a favorite character as he added thrills and a few chills to the read. I just love small towns where everyone helps everyone. The fall back is they know everything that goes on. It is hard to get away with anything but as the chips fall they usually stand beside you and help you along. The author gives you a very believable story which is filled with heartbreak and hope. As always Ms. D'Alba pulls her readers in with a winning plot that keeps you turning the pages. She burns up the pages full of very hot nights of passion as these two pull on your heart strings. Running from you past is never a good thing it always comes back to haunt you as this author reminds us. There was nothing I didn't like about this read. Ms. D'Alba has another winner on her hands. I chuckled and laughed my way through this at times my heart was in my throat hoping for the best but expecting the worse. This was a very well written and thought out read as the author takes you on a compelling story of facing your past, trying to overcome it as you take your life back and grow to become the person you want to be. This is a book everyone will love, I recommend anything by this author she knows how to entertain her readers. You will not want to miss "Texas Hustle"

I swear this series just keeps getting better and better. There are some books that I liked better than others, but these last 2 have been perfection. I love this family and in this book we get a peek into what's going on in all of their lives now. Darren Montgomery is everything and I mean everything you could want in a guy. He's sexy, smart, sweet, hardworking and easygoing. Well, he's easygoing until pushed and then he's all kinds of sexy, protective male. Darren has had an attraction to Porchia for quite awhile. He knows that she's skittish and concerned about their age difference. Being the amazing guy that he is he treads lightly just waiting for his chance. When his chance presents itself Darren wastes no time or effort in making his move. Porchia Summers has a hidden past that she would do anything to hide. She's made a good life for herself in Whispering Springs and she wants nothing to ruin that. She owns a bakery that she loves and has a group of fantastic friends. She's built a life to be proud of. She, however, doesn't allow the chance of love in her life. She has been attracted to Darren Montgomery for about as long as she can remember, but she's too old for him or so she tells herself. When she finds herself winning Darren and a camping getaway in a bachelor auction she has no idea how she's gotten herself in this mess. In case you didn't pick up on it, I really loved Darren as a character, but I enjoyed Porchia, too. She was hardworking and loyal. Heck she was even loyal to her parents and they didn't deserve her loyalty one bit. She took on too much blame and punished herself for far too long for a tragedy that wasn't her doing. But, she was strong and a good person despite all of the guilt that weighed her down. Once this couple came together sparks flew. I can not wait to read what else Ms. D'Alba has in store for us. Love these cowboys! This book was provided to me by NetGalley.com in exchange for my honest review.

I found this to be a pretty solid romance for both characterization and storyline. I liked both main characters, and I enjoyed the authentic look into their Texas lifestyle. I have read every book in this series and I love seeing Darren get his HEA. Seeing him in previous books and how great his character was it was just a matter of time. His relationship with Porchia was great to see develop, from them just being friends to them going on the family camping trip and building on their feelings. I love this series and the Montgomery family is so wonderful together. Thank you Cynthia for another great read!!

I am a fan of the Texas Montgomery Mavericks series and enjoyed this next installment. I love a romance with a strong heroine who is strong because she has to be. It struck a good balance of romance and sexiness. The writing was easy to read, while the plot flowed smoothly with some unexpected twists and turns. There were a couple of unbelievable moments, but nothing that spoiled the enjoyment of a solid romance with two likeable characters. D'Alba gets points for writing a caring and supportive man (in denim and boots), as well as a diligent, real businesswoman – wonderfully modern! I loved this book for an easy read and am eagerly looking to the rest of the series about the Montgomeries. WARNING: This post is going to be filled with Scott Eastwood because it was unbelievably hard to find cowboy gifs. THIS NEEDS TO BE RECTIFIED. Darren has wanted Porchia for a while, and Porchia doesn't want to admit she wants him, too. The only problem is, she thinks she's too old for him, and she's happy working at her bakery. However, when bad news from her past makes her want to run and hide for a bit, she finds herself in a cabin with the charming Darren Montgomery. She has to decide if she can give in to her feelings while also trying to keep the drama from her past from leaking into her present. What I loved about Texas Hustle was that it broke the mould a bit with romance novels. Like other genres, romance novels tend to have a basic format. Guy and girl meet, initial resistance, irresistible attraction builds, guy and girl give in to chemistry, big blow up, guy wins girl over. There's nothing wrong with this, as sometimes that's just what you need. However, Texas Hustle wasn't quite like that. For a start, there was an external aggressor, the ex-convict from Porchia's past. While there was some tension between the starring couple throughout, it didn't seem over-the-top and was not to the point that people were crying and screaming and acting dramatic. In terms of heat level, there were a few scenes in this book that were fairly explicit, but most of the romance was sweet and relatively tame, with more hints at other activities. I think there was an excellent balance, not overwhelming. D'Alba was stressing the growing love and respect, not just physical attraction, though there was plenty of that! Darren was perfect. For a start, he was a hunky, rugged cowboy. He was hardworking, loved his family and charitable. He took charge of some situations, but he also let Porchia make her own decisions, supporting her rather than taking care of things for her. I liked Porchia as well, with her work ethic and sense of humour (the horse ride haha). She was also a real woman, complete with cellulite! I think some people might think that her issues with her family are a bit out of proportion, given my own family drama, I can actually believe her situation. (Personally, I can't wait to go home and show my mom my multi-coloured hair in person because I know she's freak out.) Like a lot of romance novels, Texas Hustle is part of a series about the Montgomery family. I haven't read the other books, but I don't think that detracted from the story. I imagine I would have known the other family members and their romantic back stories more if I had read them, but there was still enough in this book to get a feel for the other characters. There were quite a few of them, so I did get confused with who was whose mother, etc. Throughout the book, the writing was clear and flowed smoothly, so I could simply enjoy the story. The world D'Alba created around the characters was easy to picture and made me desperate to go to Texas. (My aunt moved out there recently...I should visit...) I mean, come on, cowboys, denim and minimal makeup? Sounds like HEAVEN. I also happen to look awesome in a hat, thank you very much. Now just pass me the Southern gentleman with a side of sexy. Two things did baffle me. First, how much physical intimacy Porchia was showing when she kept insisting she and Darren were just friends. There was kissing and handholding even interspersed between assurances that they were just very good pals. The other event that raised my eyebrows is a bit further in, so I can't say much without giving away spoilers. Basically, Porchia does something morally questionable (if explainable in the situation), yet she seems completely unaffected by it. (view spoiler)[I mean, sure, the guy was crazy and trying to shoot people, but if I were her, I would have still been upset for killing someone! (hide spoiler)] Porchia's biggest obstacles were trust and acceptance – trusting and accepting herself, trusting her family, trusting her community to accept her. To be happy, she had to realise who she was and let other people in. The ending was satisfying and pretty cool, if a little rushed (but then they always are in romance novels). I do think there could have been a little action at the end, as most of that was in the middle of the book. However, the lessons of self-acceptance and opening one's heart did round the story off nicely! Like I said, I haven't read the other books in the series, but I'm definitely interested in checking them out now and seeing what comes next!

Texas Hustle by Cynthia D'Alba is book six of the Montgomery family books. This is better than the old TV show Dallas; all the drama except with a family that you can truly fall in love with. As Porchia’s family and past come back to haunt her, this baker relies on a Montgomery to help her. The description states that Porchia Summers and Darren Montgomery are different, which they certainly are but not so much opposites. The flirting that goes on between Porchia and Darren gives me an insight into the characters, more so than the sexual act. I liked these two; understood the Montgomery crowd can be a bit overwhelming at times but also see how they stack up so much better than Prochia’s family. Give me this cowboy ranching (and in this story camping) family anytime. Don’t let the fact that this is book six in the series scare you away if new to the series, it reads so well as a stand-alone. The publisher/author gave me a complimentary ARC of the book which I voluntarily chose to read and reviewed. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Porchia and Darren are delightful and believable characters, and the Montgomerys are wonderful supporting characters with a strong family bond. Cynthia D’Alba mixes suspense, childhood indiscretions, parental issues, and enough chemistry to start a forest fire to the story. Porchia has made a home for herself in Texas away from her unforgiving family. She is happy with the friends she has made and the bakery she owns. All the surprised and happy endings that happened in this book. I just couldn't believe how cold Porchia's family was. My only surprise was after spending all that time with the Montgomery family why would she want to reconnect with her family? The danger with Slade kept me on the edge of my seat wondering when he was going to strike.

Porchia's bakery is a popular place in town, but on this day she gets a very unpleasant surprise. Her ex from many years ago wants retribution for having spent years in jail. She needs time to think about how to deal with this problem. The solution comes in an unusual way at the bachelor auction. Saving Darren from Sarah Grace was Porchia's pleasure, even though she feels she's too old for Darren. Of course there is also Porchia's problem that rears it's ugly head in a very traumatic way and her family issues lend some drama. This is a book that you won't be able to put down, just wondering what could possibly happen next.

*3.5 stars* Cowboys are my jam… And Darren fit the bill quite nicely, thank you! This friends to lovers story was sweet and fun, full of laughter and family. The way that Porchia and Darren got together was a treat as the auction antics made me laugh out loud. Camping, revengeful exes and a new-found love meant lots of frolicking in the woods, cowboy-style… So much to like about this story though there were a few things that held me back. The romance was mostly sweet with a few steamy scenes (not a *3.5 stars* Cowboys are my jam… And Darren fit the bill quite nicely, thank you! They didn’t help set the sexy at all… Fast-forward though and, all in all, this was a good mid-series start for me, giving me just enough to make me start at the beginning. *I happily reviewed this story **Thank you to NetGalley

They just keep coming and these hot Montgomery men are something else! Porchia is in Whispering Springs living a quiet life until someone in her past catches up to her. Darren Montgomery wants her bad and she keeps telling him no thanks. Until she buys a date with him at a local charity auction. A week camping with his family should be long enough for her past to go away. I have to say, I like their idea of camping – in cabins with running water, fireplaces, bathtubs – just my style! Keep them coming!

If there is one thing I can count on from this author is a sizzling story, with a hard fought HEA. Not having read the first five books in the series was not a worry for me, I knew this author would provide enough backstory to allow me to get up to speed on the previous Montgomery's and their stories...I was not wrong. From beginning to end the chemistry between Porchia and Darren is sizzling. I always love the friends to lovers stories, and with Darren providing Porchia with her need to escape her past and the evil it contained, the intenseness of the story was the perfect counterpoint to the sweetness of the couple. I can always count on this author to provide an entertaining story to get lost in, this on delivers exactly that...and more. This book was provided by the Publisher and Netgalley, I am voluntarily providing my honest review.

I enjoyed the book, but have some complaints. At times the heroine was to stupid to live. I mean if someone is blackmailing you over what happened when you were a juvenile, why wouldn't you go to the police? She does get it together, but not until after someone is hurt. The hero is smart, hunky and sweet *sigh*. There is some background drama from another book; it doesn't add to the story and is just a distraction that I wish the author had left out. Has it all! Reading anything by this author is an epic experience. Like your going on a picnic with good friends and a great family that loves you. This whole series is a must read to get the full flavor of it all. Cynthia D'Alba has some of the best stories I’ve ever read.. Romance, friends and family. The characters are believable and easy to like and the stories are very well written. I would recommend this series to anyone who likes a good romance. A+ Has it all! Again this story pulls you in from the start just like the others in the series. A well written and perfectly paced story with enough action to keep your interest. This one is about Porchia and Darren and the struggles it takes to get to their happy places. You cannot go wrong with the Montgomery family involved.

1st... Let me say that the books are out of order on Amazon series page. I SHOULD have read Texas Bossa Nova before I read Texas Hustle. That said, I liked this book. I like the series. I love the characters! That's what keeps me coming back for more. 😉 1st... Let me say that the books are out of order on Amazon series page.
