This is an AMAZING interpretation of Hound of the Baskervilles, the least logical Sherlock Holmes story. I read Sherlock Holmes Was Wrong a while ago and was keen to revisit Hound of the Baskervilles with reference to Bayard's comic interpretation without bothering to reread the book, and then Richard Unglick went and wrote an elegant abridgement of this classic but questionable novel. With Playmobils!!!!! All my high-end toy store dreams came true. The design in this book is incredible. With Playmobils!!!!! All my high-end toy store dreams came true. The design in this book is incredible. Unglick and his fellow nerds pose Victorian Playmobils in elaborate Playmobil landscapes, interspersed with text and "found" documents. The moor is especially perfect in its Playmobil universe way. Simply wow. (view spoiler)[In Unglick's interpretation of the Hound of The Baskervilles, Beryl is also culpable, so maybe Unglick read Sherlock Holmes was wrong, too? Still worth it. (hide spoiler)]

Richard Unglik has taken Playmobile figurines and used them along with news articles and such to tell the story of The Hound of Baskervilles. Very visual and well done. I loved the characters and the news articles and journal entries really added to the story. This would be a perfect book for children to introduce them to more advanced literature. If I had kids this is definitely the book series that I would have for them. As an adult, the book follows along with the story and I love the extra level of details. I strongly recommend people getting a copy of this book and others in the series. I received Sherlock Holmes: The Hound of the Baskervilles for free from Quarto Publishing Group for free in exchange for an honest review.
