And not just this year, but also all my bookaddict life. This book you have to read it so you can feel it . When I first read its blurb, I was instantly interested on reading it. So, when I got the ARC, I started it asap. And holy crap! As soon as I started getting deeper into the story, I was screwed! And the fun fact about it is that, initially, I didn’t intend to review it for the blog. But, somewhere through the ⅔ of it, I immediatelly changed my mind because I couldn’t leave this insane story out of C. O. B. B. From where to begin and where to end! Characters, plot, writing. All were off-the-charts amazing. And so damn addictive that I finished it the same day I started it, without almost any break. I simply swallowed it whole. But the big surprise was that the book, which has one hell of a cliffhanger by the way, is the first part of a series whose next book’s release is light years away. Which means that I will be in desperate mode for a long long time! Though, I’ll try to forget that for awhile and direct my focus on how to describe you the perfectness of it. I know that I may sound a bit excessive but I mean what I say. I am rarely that excited about a book that I sound like a nutcase. So, the story is about Leo Knight and Sophia Destino. Whose last names I adore, by the way, because they simply suit the characters p e r f e c t l y. Sophia is a teenage girl who suddenly enters a world that she didn’t know it existed but she gets to know it when she gets away from Death’s claws thanks to Leo. And Leo is determined to keep it that way! Because he can’t risk to lose her. And what happens next is more than words can describe. As they come closer and the feelings between them start getting more intense and undeniable, the more things they change. And the end is something that no one can predict until that very moment. Megan Gaudino is a first-time-read author for me and I have to admit that her writing skills is just WOW! I couldn’t put the book down even for a few seconds. It was one of those rare, fantastic times that a book made me zone out and surrender to its world without a second thought. And I’m extremelly glad that I got to experience it again and that I got to know that amazing author from who I can’t wait see what else she will create that will probably sweep me off my feet once again.

I received this book in exchange for an honest review. I would like to start off by saying I thoroughly enjoyed the author's writing. Megan definitely has amazing talent. This book was unexpected to say the least. It starts off with a young girl in high school who has a few near death experiences. I don't want to say too much due to spoilers. But the main reason, I down voted the book was because of the insta love. It was just very strong in this instance. Overall, still a great book. I received this book in exchange for an honest review. S. doesn't believe but when she's watching how a bus is going staight at her on her way home, she knows her friend was correct. Except that she doesn't end up dead. No. She's saved by a beautiful man. As a whole I really like the book. But there were several things that just weren't completely beliavable. Obviously it's supernatural YA so there are some "unbelievable" things but what I mean is that Sophia was like "oh, mysterious man saved me, I'm gonna let him into my house where I'm all alone and after I kind of guess that he's an angel I'm not calling 911 that a psycho is in my house because angels are so common in the world." Sometimes Sophia was really narrow minded and so damn naive. "Leo is going to save me no matter what." Yeah. How did that worked out in the end for you, Sophie? I'm never annoyed by male characters. Leo is such a handsome cutie. It ends in cliffhanger (really bad one) but it's probably the first time I'm not really bothered. I never really got into the book and I never started to symphatize with Sophia.. But once the next part is out I'm gonna read it, because Leo will be there <3. You all know I am always honest when it is about my reviews, ALWAYS, no matter if I was the one buying the book or if it was the author who sent it to me and I need to say that I was expecting a little more from this one… I was not sure if I should gave to this book 3 or 3.5 stars and I ended up giving it 3 stars… I will explain why. This book is a YA Romance Fantasy and in my opinion the romance part was a little “cliché”, it was kind of cheesy sometimes, the way everything happened… I mean, I could do it without the romance do you understand what I’m trying to say here ?… the Fantasy part was okay alone, of course that the author would have to extend a little bit the story because most part of this book is about the romance between the two main characters, but I think that that would not be a problem, I don’t know, this is just my point of view. Overall this was a great read, I enjoyed it, I don’t think it was boring, I like the way Megan writes, I think it is really “accessible” to everyone… I really enjoyed this book but I have some “problems” with it. Besides the fact that I was not a fan of the romance in this book, which I am not considering it a problem here, I think that this book was too short… not in terms of lenght but in terms of story. When the end of the book arrived I was like “seriously?”… and I actually searched everywhere for a second book because I didn’t like the way this book ended… it was just too fast you know ?! Even if I didn’t like some stuff about this book I liked some other things… The next paragraph has a mini spoiler… I mean, I don’t consider it a spoiler but some of you may consider it a spoiler and because I don’t want you to be mad at me I am warning you. I enjoyed the plot, I think that it was a great idea, the paranormal side of this story was really great and I think that the idea of these beings being Guardians and not Angels was actually pretty good. ALSO, I love the cover of this book AND of course that I am recommending this book to you because after all it was a really fast a great read.

Having got back into YA reading again recently, I picked up Always Kiss Me Goodnight as I loved the beautiful cover and the synopsis sounded interesting too. I was expecting a YA Romance with maybe a mystery, however this definitely falls more under the YA Paranormal Romance category - although do not let that put you off! The story follows Sophia who is quite a likeable character. She's smart and pretty and judging by the descriptives and her thoughts throughout the book I'd say she is slightly self concious about her body (But not in a dramatic going on about it all the time way). She sounds fairy grounded and sweet, there was nothing I found about her that I didn't like. Leo and Aiden are both pretty strong male characters. I liked Leo from the get go, he has a mystery about him even though he doesn't really hold a lot back - this made him super appealing to me. He's sweet but dominating, funny without meaning to be and clearly although this is a 'instalove' book I didn't feel like it was rammed down my throat, so his emotions towards Sophia for me were apt and perfect. Aiden on the other hand is a dick. I'm sorry but he just is. When you finally find out what he did wrong with his relationship with Sophia (It doesn't take much to work out), personally I found it hard to like him at all after that. I felt the feelings portrayed from Sophia about him were really accurate. IF you've ever been in that situation you do have a very torn emotional state - it made sense. This book was well written, once it got going and you got to meet Hex, Tera and the other characters I appreciated it more. I thought Amelia would be a bigger part of the story which was a little sad for me as she sounded like a cool chick. The ending was sudden, I was left feeling, 'Wow what happens next?' I didn't see it coming, I think I was so involve with the story and everything I literally missed it. I'm guessing there will be more books, I'm hoping there will be and know I'll definitely be looking for more publications in the future from Megan. 4 stars, a beautiful read and well worth a look!

3.5 unlikely knight in shining armor stars. I remember a few years ago I went on a paranormal/fantasy YA reading binge and this book threw me back to that time. He doesn't give her the whole truth of the matter but he suffers each time he helps her cheat death. Leo already craves and adores Sophie and can't handle her being near or with her ex-boyfriend who cheated on her. As the book draws to a close a shocking moment happens to Sophie that makes you want to know what happens next.

It's a really good story that reminded me of Fallen. Leo and Sophia share a great love that it looks like will be developed over more than one book which is great because there is a lot left to wonder about. I gave this book 4 starts and not 5 because of the open plot points. I get that there will be more to this story which is exciting but the end left me wanting to know so much more and I don't want to have to wait. I really liked this book. I just wish we got to see more of the other Guardians besides Leo because I love Felix's character. There's obviously another book and so I really hope Felix is in it more. I was also pleasantly surprised at how different this book is from other similar stories. For example I think the Hex/Mya romance is very sweet and even though there is sorta a love triangle it's not the whole story. REVIEW: This one was a very quick read and an incredibly easy read. I always like to make note of this because sometimes you're looking for that perfect book to throw in your beach bag for an easy day or when you know that you don't want to be tied up in a book for days on end because real life beckons tomorrow for one reason or another. In those cases Always Kiss Me Goodnight (even though this is just the first in a series) is perfect for a fast read. What this also means is that it isn't a very in-depth story. Sure there are some crazy strange things going on, but it still feels very on-the-surface. It's also an insta-love story, not my favorite, but for a short and easy read, it's a plot device that's to be expected. However, most author's with this style of storyline usually have me rolling my eyes at every other word, but my eyes stayed firmly on the page with this book! There is definitely an ease to Gaudino's writing that keeps you invested. Okay, on to Sophia. She kinda sorta almost keeps dying. I loved this element of the plot and only wish there had been more with a greater escalation of death defying acts. When we're introduced to Leo it's incredibly fast and dialogue whips back and forth quickly. A lot of things are said and assumptions are made and yet we don't really get anywhere. It was a little bit frustrating. Some things are eventually explained, but I don't want to add any spoilers, and there is still a lot left to be explored in the next book. Sophia's other relationships gave me a little bit of whiplash. The girl couldn't seem to make up her mind about anyone or anything. However, once again with the style of writing, I wasn't overly bothered by any of it. I just breezed on through the book. The unfortunate side-effect of this was that, while it was a mildly enjoyable way to spend a day reading, I also didn't have any bigger connection to the book. It didn't anger me but it also didn't excite me. While this book focused heavily on the romance and the relationships/friendships with other characters, there wasn't a lot of the fantasy element that was looming just out of sight. It started and stopped several times but there is still a lot left to be revealed. It's also important to note that the book finished strong and on a cliff-hanger. You know the horror movies when the girl goes up the stairs to check out the strange noise and you're shouting at the TV, "NO! Don't go up there!"? Well that's the sort of moment that leads into the ending. Definitely a compelling ending. I'll be picking up book 2 soon to find out what happens next, but probably on another day when I'm looking for an easy and quick read.

I’m surprised by how much I enjoyed this book. I was initially interested in the story after reading the synopsis, but I thought it might end up being a bit predictable. I was completely wrong though, it was such a unique story and I couldn’t put it down! I really enjoyed the whole concept of the story. It took me awhile to get into it but the story picked up after the first few chapters, and I was intrigued the whole time. It felt fresh and interesting. The characters were all interesting. It took me awhile to get into it but the story picked up after the first few chapters, and I was intrigued the whole time. It felt fresh and interesting. The characters were all interesting. Sophia is our main character, and honestly it took me awhile to warm up to her. It wasn’t that she wasn’t interesting to me, because she was, it was just the fact that I couldn’t relate to her. When it came to her priorities she was unfocused. She was destined to die, but she was constantly thinking about how good looking this guy was instead of how she’s going to stay alive. The whole instalove was a bit annoying to me, at first… Once we got deeper into the story, and began learning more about the situation and the characters the instalove made more sense to me. So, if you’re like me and the instalove between characters can annoy you at times don’t let that steer you away from this book! Leo was surprisingly a very interesting character. The romance between Sophia and Leo was a little shaky for me in the beginning, like I said, but I soon found it to be very swoon worthy! The world building was done well, including the introduction to the guardians like Hex and Felix - who I hope we get to see more of in the future because I was glued to the pages with them in it! The writing was great, I’m definitely a fan of Megan Gaudino now. She writes in great detail that you feel like you are really getting to know everything about this world and the characters inside of it. Like I said, I didn’t like Sophia that much in the beginning, but her character developed nicely into a more mature person by the end of the book. I enjoyed her more, and all of the characters as the story progressed thanks to the great writing. Overall, I enjoyed this book a lot! It was full of interesting characters, set in an interesting world, and told in a unique way. I am really looking forward to the next book because there are so many unanswered questions! I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys fantasy, even paranormal stories, and some swoon worthy romance!

It's a really good read with a lot of emotional ups and downs. There are funny parts, sexy parts, and even some parts that are a little scary. Sophia and Leo make a really great couple and I think guardians are an interesting take on paranormal creatures. It's something fresh. Plus I live in PA so I like that too! This is slightly like my feelings for “Kiss Me Goodnight”. I have no criticism for this book what so ever. I found it to be perfect in every way, and I am very excited for future works from the marvelous Megan Gaudino. This book is one of the best angel books I’ve read in years, and I’ve read A LOT of them. The only other angel book on the same level is Hush Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick which was also amazing. With “Kiss Me Goodnight”, it’s like Megan had a checklist of what makes a great young adult book and seamlessly blended all of these components together into this sensational debut novel. I was hooked from the first chapter and couldn’t stop reading–it was another “wee hours of the morning” finish because this book was THAT GOOD. There are so many cliches in young adult paranormal fiction these days, and Megan has an antidote for all of them. Tired of weak, whimpering heroines? You will LOVE Sophie. Sophie is witty, funny and sprightly. She’s vivid and distinct, easily liked, and easy to understand. Even in a tense situation, she breaks the tension with a wisecrack. What makes this is even better is many of them come natural and without thought—it’s simply how she is. Then there’s Leo. Intimidating and creepy at first, but as the chapters went by his caring and charming personality warmed my heart. The way he was acting around Sophie was so sweet, you can’t help but just fall in love with him. AND THE ENDING IS JUST SO SHOCKING! Bottom line, I loved this one. The concept is brilliant, the writing flows in an even exciting pace and the characters are filled with good wit and are ready to charm. It has all the elements I look for in a good read and then some. I can’t wait to see what happens next in; Never Kiss and Tell!

She should want nothing to do with him and she has no clue why she is agreeing to meet him to talk. She dreads her lunch time for that reason. Before lunch though she catches a glimpse of a man in the woods outside her school. He is the most handsome man she has seen. Her interest is peaked and he intrigues her. She looks for him but doesn’t find him and starts to believe she dreamed him. She chalks it up to one of her normal weird dreams. Then one of her dreams comes true. It turns out she has visions of her own death and Leo Knight refuses to let her die. He rescues her twice and reveals himself. He promises not to leave her. Sophia is scared and torn. Her attraction to Leo is electric but what about Aidan? She is confused about her feelings for both boys. She is also unsure of the world of the Guardians of Fate she has been thrust into. Leo has gone against the rules of fate when he saved her. He believes she is worth it as he finds himself inserting himself into her life and her heart. However fate will not be denied and Leo’s friend Felix gets involved. Sophia thinks she is safe but her family comes home, Leo disappears and a strange creature confronts her in the park. Fate will not be denied when the path is set. This book was interesting. It immediately draws you in to Sophia’s teenage drama involving her friends and Aidan. You aren’t sure what happened but I was guessing as I read. Her confusion about Aidan is understandable. However I really didn’t care for her avoidance. She refuses to stand up for herself. I hated that. She didn’t want to upset anyone at the expense of herself. It drove me crazy. Then when Leo appeared to her things started to change. Her character started to change for the better. She developed more backbone. Leo was a knight there to save her. Totally loved the concept. He was my favorite character alongside Hercules. Absolutely loved the dog. As the story unfolded it had a lot of things happening. You had Sophia’s family dynamics, her friends, Aidan and then the death attempts. She seemed to be juggling a lot especially when Leo saved her and her attraction to him was added to the mix. The ending left the reader hanging, setting up for another installment to the story. I will definitely be checking in with Sophia when the next book comes out. I give this book a 4 out of 5.

First, I didn’t really like the writing. It felt stilted and awkward. I don’t know if that’s how the author intended for it to be or not, but either way, I didn’t like it. I wasn’t very fond of the characters, either. The main character, Sophia, wasn’t relatable at all. I mean, she meets a stranger who knows everything about her, and I mean everything, and her reaction is to trust this guy (his name’s Leo, by the way)? It doesn’t matter that he saved her life, she should be scared. That would be the natural reaction, not to trust him. It’s just not… well, realistic. And another thing; Leo isn’t human, and so he is stronger than humans. At one time, he hurts her, and she gets bruises on her wrists. This is how she feels about it: “My bruises, and the messed up way I liked them, were not the issue.” Right, okay, so it’s not a problem that someone physically hurts you? I can’t even explain how annoyed I get when I read this sentence. It makes it seem like it’s okay for a guy to hurt a girl, which is nowhere near true. I could list everything I didn’t like about the characters, and Sophia especially, all day, but no one would want to read that. The one good thing was that the characters weren’t perfect, but that didn’t make me like them more. The ending. I get that some authors want the readers to think for themselves how it ends, and therefore end the book with some loose endings, but this ending is just ridiculous. I mean, okay, leave a couple things for the readers to figure out for themselves, but I still think they should tie up some loose endings at the end of the book. This ending was just very abrupt, and I didn’t like it. When I was at the end of the book, I couldn’t even begin to imagine how the author would be able to tie up the loose endings before the end, and, as it turned out, she didn’t. So, yeah, I didn’t like the ending. Everything felt unfinished. Or it’s predictability. I could tell from the beginning how it would end. To sum it up, the idea behind this book was great, and I had pretty high hopes of it, but the execution disappointed. I enjoyed it a little, but it was still a big disappointment.

But what attracted me to it was the reading's description of what I would find when reading this novel by Megan Gaudino and I don't regret any bit of my choice, because it surprised me and managed to arrest me in reading to the last page and at the moment I find myself looking forward to the continuation. Sophia's character has a personality very young and who is used to reading novels for teenagers should know very well the temperament of the young described and Sophia is confused, she finds herself at the beginning of the book with angry at your ex boyfriend due to a betrayal and as she who has anger misses. Sophia then begins to ignore him and in between is maudlin mess she discovers a wonderful smell and is fascinated. Sophia is a shame with the same smell that fascinates and mysteriously to touch this shame starts to rain. After these mysterious events Sophia's life changes completely. Her best friend who claims to be psychic can't see your future, it's like she's not existing in tomorrow, only in the present. After this discovery Sophia is almost hit by a car, just that a young man named Leo Knight can save a tragedy before it happened. Leo Knight, or simply Leo is a young man of 19 years and is incredibly beautiful, but what Sophia noticed is that Leo has the same heady smell that one day felt. Sophia even without understanding if enchants with Leo and his delicious scent. The relationship between them is so beautiful that I feared for the separation of the two. It's strange how I fell in love so fast for Leo, he is fascinating. I hope very much that as I readers have the opportunity to meet Brazilian Always Kiss Me Goodnight, Megan Gaudino because I'm sure they will love Leo and Sophia. I long for the sequel right away.

Finished…unfinished… I don’t know which I am with this book. I’ve reached the last page but so much still feels open. I’m not entirely sure any of my questions – even those I asked myself right at the beginning – have been answered. On a normal day, I don’t handle cliff-hangers very well, but so many questions linger about so many of the characters in the book, not to mention the one it ended on. I enjoyed the characters and the world I found myself in, but I’m left wondering how many of my questions will be answered in a sequel. The pacing of this novel should have given away that a lot would remain for me to ponder as there was definitely a strong element of ‘setting the scene’, leading me to further wonder if I’ve essentially read a prologue. But, the hallmark of a good story – I still enjoyed it. Great YA with a fresh twist on angels/guardian angels/death. An interesting cast of supporting characters was provided, although a couple of them possibly relied on stereotype at times. I was interested to see how Ms Gaudino conformed to removing Sophia’s parents and created the familiar ‘orphan’ scenario, while still leaving the parents very much alive and well. Sophia was likeable and didn’t make too many decisions that made me question her intelligence, which is always a bonus. The romantic chemistry was swift, but within the realms of my suspended disbelief, and also very sweet. Possibly my only niggle with the actual story was the fact this hero was yet another character with much greater strength than the heroine – which brought me an element of discomfort later in the book. That said, it hasn’t spoiled the story for me, and this certainly isn’t a tale of violence. It just caught my eye that the strong hero masterfully trying to conquer his displays of strength with a much weaker heroine is a storyline that occurs much more frequently these days. All told, this was a great read, and an interesting start to a series. The cliff-hanger has done its job in that I’m very curious how the rest of the story will play out and I’ll certainly keep my eyes open for the second instalment. I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Where do I begin? So I started this book last night, and had really high hopes for it. It's quite small so I thought I'd read it before I started the Dream Thieves. Obviously I've finished and am extremely disappointed. Chapter one had me thoroughly intrigued and wanting more, but as I progressed it seemed to get worse. We were introduced to Sophia (the protagonists) friends who are the kind of people I wouldn't want to be friends with. I know characters aren't meant to be perfect and are supposed to have flaws, however, these characters were something else. Sophia was a pushover, with EVERYONE. Her "boyfriend" Aiden treated her like shit and she let him. This frustrated me so much. When I noticed this in the beginning I thought "maybe there is a reason for this", "maybe it has to do with character development or something". But when I got to the end there were really no insights into anything. She was still a pushover and it didn't seem like that was going to ever change. Another thing that bothered me a lot was how she was so willingly to let a stranger come into her life and literally take control. Leo was a STRANGER. I know lots of novels have this kinda theme where a stranger swoops in and tries to protect the main character. Again, this book was something different. I think it has more to do with the way the author has executed it. I think overall the writing is amazing, along with the descriptive writing. I just couldn't get passed all these little things that were so blatantly there. Anyways, I give this book one star mainly because of what I've mentioned above. I don't think I would read this book again

However, if every YA fantasy was written by Megan Gaudino, I wouldn't spend a minute on anything else--done deal! Always Kiss me Goodnight is a (though I had no idea when I picked it up) the 1st in a series of Guardian books. Leo, a superhero Guardian of Fate with a pretty face, a hot motorcycle and a hotter body, is inexplicably drawn to Sophia, a year old, normal by all accounts, private school girl. While it is fair to say most normal girls don't dream/have visions (the distinction seems important to the author) of their own deaths, Sophia does. And though this book is steeped in fantasy, it's attraction is the way the author made Leo and his very timely appearance seem magic, but acceptable. Being a Guardian of Fate, Leo has responsibility...the other worldly kind... and his choices to protect Sophia cost him greatly, but this again, is written in such a way that the question becomes could this be a valid explanation for the way and life and death is treated in the real world. Being a girl in the real world, Sophia finds herself caught in a love triangle with current boyfriend (not a great guy) Aiden and Leo. It’s all a part of being a teenager (well, except that one of the boys turns red hot to the touch and has the power to save her from death). This author created a spectacular world inside the real one which blends seamless together into Sophia's reality. Though the fantasy in this book is played down, it is an enchanting look into real life and the possibilities of otherworldly almost humans. This is a 5 star book and I cannot wait to see what else this author has in store for Leo and Sophia.
