I'm really enjoying this series, which I think is in part due to it being written and drawn by the creator of Fullmetal Alchemist (which I shamelessly love to bits!). This volume is just as good as the previous ones and I'm really looking forward to reading the rest!

While infighting fractures the Lusitanians, The Silver Mask begins to consolidate his support. Arslan’s party has been separated throughout eastern Pars as they make their way to the hopeful safety of Peshawar Citadel. Will they all survive the trip? Lots of horse violence to start this one. And a poor, poor falcon. Illustrated people violence... aye oh kay... animal harm... no bueno! Humans are weird aren’t we? This is probably my favorite volume so far. The stakes have never been higher. Even While infighting fractures the Lusitanians, The Silver Mask begins to consolidate his support. The stakes have never been higher. Even Daryun had a tough fight—the rematch, not. so. much. Narsus finds a fiancé, or she finds him! Always fantastic art. Tremendous action scenes, but still too many text bubbles. Guiscard always has a lot of thought bubbles around his panels. The mountain prison of the Snake King Zahhāk looms large over Arslan’s future.

The story is kind of starting to drag since they split up. We are focussed on what is going on in Hirmiz's camp. They are trying to humanize him, giving him a long lost love that was probably killed, but keep in mind he murdered some women for no reason other than she was a fake Queen and they were with her. You want to root for him, but he also cast his lot in with the Lusitanians that are murdering, raping, and destroying everything. The story is kind of starting to drag since they split up. Really enjoy I really enjoy this series. I am a big believer in supporting the authors. That is another reason I have been buying the series. I like how the characters in this series seem real.
