Did it really take no less than two authors to compose this tripe: "He danced from one end of the room to the other waggling his butt, letting it flop loose so he could feel his cheeks jiggle"? At least no one will ever confuse them with Steinbeck or Fitzgerald. I have just finished "Bone Dust" by Bette Golden Lamb. It, in my opinion, is one of her very best. I love reading her books, and I believe that I've read all of her books. I enjoy her characters, and the way her stories are woven into and in between their strengths and weaknesses. The very worse part of all her books is...the last page. This is another crime mystery. I am just going to say I read these out of order since i didn't even realize they weren't stand alones. That being said, I still think they are all great book. Really decent pace and tons of twists and turns. This is another crime mystery. I am just going to say I read these out of order since i didn't even realize they weren't stand alones. Suspenseful Good suspenseful story. Author made characters spring to life throughout story which added to the suspense and made you want to keep reading. Was a little disappointed with the ending

now i am hooked. This was such a great, easy and creative book. i was hooked after the first page. The characters were easy to fall in love with and follow, along with the story. the author made the mental visions so easy and vivid of the surroundings and the characters actions felt so real. i would highly recommend this author and this book.

I knew that Bone Dust was going to be good book when I read this line in the prologue which describes a moment with bad guy Russell Thorpe; He danced from one end of the room to the other waggling his butt, letting it flop loose so he could feel his cheeks jiggle. Now that is an image that gives me the heebie-jebbies and I figured that Russell Thorpe was going to be one creepy dude, and I was correct. Now that is an image that gives me the heebie-jebbies and I figured that Russell Thorpe was going to be one creepy dude, and I was correct. Russell Thorpe is a phlebotomist and has an interest in blood that is more than an occupational passion. Thorpe also happens to be a phlebotomist at the same hospital where Gina Mazzio works. For those of you that are not familiar with the Gina Mazzio series, Gina just seems to have a knack in attracting psychopaths, which once again is proven in Bone Dust. There is a lot going on for Gina Mazzio in Bone Dust, not only is she having to deal with a psychopath, but she is also having relational problems with the love of her life, Harry Lucke. On top of all of this, she has a crazy ex-husband who wants to kill her and a severe killer outbreak of the flu that is overwhelming Ridgewood Hospital and the city of San Francisco. The big question is “will our sassy nurse from the Bronx survive all this, or will she have a nervous breakdown?” The Gina Mazzio series gets better with each successive book which makes reading Bone Dust a real pleasure. Even though this is considered a medical thriller, most of the action revolves around situations that are not medically related. The medical focus is primarily on the influenza outbreak and how a big city hospital would deal with it. I would suggest strongly reading the previous novels in the series to get a better feel on what makes the characters tick. Interesting but not riveting medical thriller. The main character, Gina Mazzio is portrayed as a tough, independent woman and nurse with a sixth sense for trouble. There is no mystery as the good and the bad are revealed at the beginning of the book. Her persistence in carrying a load of issues without help (including her denial and poor judgement in continuing to work during the flu epidemic when she knows she has the flu) may be considered by some as a strength but is also her weakness. The end, while satisfactory in the outcome, consist of events obviously created to tie up all the loose ends of the story. A light, afternoon read.

'Medical thriller' this isn't. It is a romance. Multiple characters meeting each other and falling in love within hours, much distracted longing for partners who aren't there, meaningful silences... That said, if you like romances AND you knew that this book is a romance, not a medical thriller, then it's probably an okay book. After I got over the fact that my expectations had been different, I carried on reading to see why the book had so many 5 stars but I couldn't finish: The characters are o 'Medical thriller' this isn't. After I got over the fact that my expectations had been different, I carried on reading to see why the book had so many 5 stars but I couldn't finish: The characters are one-dimensional (e.g. moody, love-struck females and tall, silent, strong men with sports cars), the plot predictable (bad guys are deranged with mummy issues) and full of coincidences that stretched belief. The tension comes from the usual sloppy police and medical authorities that just wouldn't be the case in the real world. Again, however, if you like romances, and want a fast, easy read to while away the time - it's probably a 3 or 4-star but for me, 2 is all I can muster.

This is one unlucky Nurse My BFF is a Nurse, and I can tell you, her life is nowhere near as interesting as the Nurses featured in these stories. And if it were, I'm sure she would get out of the profession quickly because it would be too dangerous to make a living in that field. LOL On the other hand, it sure was one very good story! Lots of action, and plot twists. With two very nasty, creepy guys to keep up with, never a dull moment. Would I recommend it? Yes! Most definitely. Terrible, I found myself wanting to read some medical fiction and picked this book up. I so wish I had used it to block a draught. Poorly written the only medical connection seems to be a nasty outbreak of flu in a hospital which fails to really have any connection to the story. Within the first couple of chapters we are told the story and then have to sit through a very boring monologue to reach a rather desperate end.

Cheesy wanna be thriller Wow, I can't believe there's more books in this series. The character development is lacking as is the story line. It's not exciting or even interesting. I lost interest about 1/4 into it when the characters became interchangeable love sick adults who sounded and whined like high school kids. The ending is terrible and convenient--a wave of a wand away from " and they all lived happily after". Gag. Good thing it was free. Good Read At first I thought this book would be a horror tale. It definitely had its creepy moments but it wasn't scary. (Which I liked.) The characters were interesting. It was part of a series but it seems the books are stand alone which is nice. I would read others in this series. Good Read At first I thought this book would be a horror tale. This is the second novel I've read in this series. It's a great mystery and keeps one guessing about the next medical mishap all the way through. There were a couple of times I winced at what was happening in the hospital! The characters are believable. I definitely will continue to read novels by the Lambs. This was a great thriller. But at first I thought it might be another plague-virus-that-kills-everyone story, but quickly changed my mind when I realized someone was killing the patients. The big questions remained - why? And what did nurse Gina have to do with it? Or why was she targeted? Even as some of the answers became apparent I had to race-read to the end to find out!

Not what I expected! I see where the title came from, but it suggested a different story line to me. It is not my idea of a medical thriller. After the backdrop is set, you know the villain. Then it's just a matter of when and how he gets caught. I personally disliked the author's writing style but that's just an opinion. Not what I expected! Exciting Excellent book and writing. Again, the book was so exciting and interesting, I couldn't put it down until the end. Kudos to Ms. Lamb. I do have one suggestion however. Throughout the book there were many missing letters and words, and punctuation marks. The proofreader needs to be more diligent. Exciting Excellent book and writing. Not exactly "hard-boiled", but a pleasant, entertaining read. At one point, it seemed like it could get quite involved and captivating, but everything just ended, and it was okay. As I say, enjoyable, but probably nothing to write home about. Not exactly "hard-boiled", but a pleasant, entertaining read. Predictable but entertaining Not well written medically (since one author is a RN -obviously by education but not experience), but it is entertaining. The characters are shallow and the plot completely predictable, it is a nice read between more "meaty" novels.
