I started reading and could not put it down. The way Cathy wrote each book drew you into their lives and how God moves in our lives. The words of wisdom, Jenny coming to know Jesus as Savior is beautifully written. The Word of God is brought out as important in a Christian's life. Book one touched my heart and made me cry and root for Rob & Mercy, book 2 me cheering for Duncan & Carmen and Carmens heart in both book 1 & 2 shows you what walking Jesus love is but, service can become a thing of do I started reading and could not put it down. Book 3 had me laughing and cheering for Chris & Wren (Katie) and when talked to Katie about how the Lord loves her was beautiful actually how that was written in all three books is beautiful. This is a definite, must read. You will not be disappointed.

God is in Texas God is in Texas, along with the New immigrants “The McGregor Brothers”. The three brothers finally make it to America, but loose there “Da” (father) just prior to landing at Ellis Island. Luckily they have a destination and a friend whom has advised them, so they set off for Texas. There are three stories one for each brother, but you hear about the others all along, these stories could be stand alone, but come in this nice 3 story, book. Great inspirational stories I really y enjoy reading lovely books centered and infused with how having a true love for Christ with romance. There was a time when love was trusting, honoring, and faithfulness to each other only after you placed God first. In this world love is used for all types of degradation and selfishness. It is rare to see a couple who have weathered the storms, catastrophic ways of this world. Purity is as rare as a unicorn. While these stories of three Scottish brothers and their brides display Cathy Marie Hake's usual with and humor, they also tackle several difficult subjects with taste and grace. I doubt anyone is surprised with happy endings. This is a 3-in-1 historical romance collection about the Gregor brothers who each receive a gift and a piece of advice from their dying father on their voyage to America. And, of course, each brother finds a special bride. Quick, fun reads - my favorite was the first one, To Love Mercy.

This was a great book! It is put as a Historical Romance, and Christian book. However, you are not beat over the head, with either. Very tasteful romance, and references to the Bible. I really enjoyed this.

Follows 3 Scottish brothers that crossed the ocean to live better in a town in Texas. Especially liked the last brothers journey as a Texas ranger and Wren.

The Gregor brothers-Robert, a doctor; Duncan, a cobbler; and Christopher, a lawman-set up shop in a small Texas town and quickly make the acquaintance of local women. Tragedy has struck Mercy Stein on the eve of her wedding, leaving her soul battered. Alone and crippled, Carmen Rodriguez wears a protective shell of bitterness. Harboring a secret, Kathryn Regent always seems to be getting in others way. Can their father's gifts help the brothers lead these women to healing faith? Plot: This has potential to be a good plot, but it didn't reach that potential. I was bored the entire time, and found myself skimping paragraphs out of boredom. It didn't reach any romance until very late into the book, and when it did, it was not good at all. Writing: Cathy Marie Hake's writing style did not sit well with me at all. I think part of the problem was that the protagonists were Scottish and their dialogue was weird. She's a talented writer, it just wasn't for me. Characters: The characters were okay, but not extraordinary. They were really realistic. They sometimes got on my nerves, but other than that, they were fine. Overall: This was a puny collection of stories. I just didn't like it. I didn't hate it, I just don't like it. I do wish there was more romance. I went into this book thinking there would be lots of romance, but it was way to late in the story for my liking. Recommendations: 12+ female. Once again, this is definitely geared toward girls. If you want a quick read with interesting dialogue, pick this up.
