This was just an okay read for me... Not enough character development, the romance fell flat, and I was just hoping for more overall.

I have to say that this series is one I really like. I read book 4 first, and you can definitely do this if you want, but I have learned that you learn more about Mating Call’s agency and people more if you read them in order. This is totally up to your preferences though. This story is about a bunny and a bear. Who knew that reporters and wrestlers went together so well? I loved how the community and friends come together in this one. I recommend any of Lynn’s books to my shifter lovin’ friends and especially this series!

This is the first story I've read by this author and based on this I might try more of her work in the future. Garnet is a bunny shifter. She's also a freelance journalist that is trying to make ends meet. Garnet has been feeling the need to settle down and find her "one" recently but has been too busy with work to date much. Stacy is a wrestler and has been for years. He's done pretty well for himself as he and his tag-team partner have won 7 championships. Stacy isn't home much though and he's starting to feel the strain of his job. He's feeling that maybe it's time to find his mate but his job isn't exactly conducive to finding his "one". Stacy's wrestling partner ends up suggesting that Stacy try a dating service for shifters. He's leery about it but decides to give it a go. The agency (aka Yvette and Dora) sets him up with Garnet and they meet for dinner. Garnet and Stacy find that they get along swimmingly and the first date goes really well. With some machinations by Yvette and Dora, Garnet and Stacy end up in a second date that's a little more than they were expecting but it works out well because it allows them to leave everything behind and concentrate on each other. Things go really well for the couple and what was already a fast fall into love for both of them escalates into more, propelling them into full love. The story ends with Stacy and Garnet solidifying their relationship and heading towards a HEA together. This was an enjoyable story. I liked Garnet and Stacy and thought they worked well as a couple. The story wasn't perfect and there was a time or 2 I had a "huh?" moment but I still liked it overall.

The Review: For shifters who are wanting to find love but don’t know where to, they now have a place to call, The Mating Call Dating Agency, where they’re in good hands and are and love is just a step away. Busy journalist and part time librarian assistant, rabbit shifter , Garnet Pendelton, is ready for something or someone more in her life, though with her busy scheduled she’s not sure she really has the time. Bear shifter, Stacy Graves, is a champion wrestler, yet he’s finding his mind drifting towards the hope of a mate, in the middle of matches. With the help of mating experts Yvette and Dora, the unlikely couple, might just have a chance at finding the happiness they want. Notable Scene: “One thing,” she said with a grin. “Avoid everything except the Thai part. The rest is... Dubious at best. Let me tell you, one time I got one of their sushi plates and spent at least two days on the -” she cut herself off, blushing furiously before she could start discussing her bathroom habits with a stranger. “I hear you,” he said with a grin. “On second thought, they’re pandas. You know, they’re related, pandas and raccoons. And neither are bears.” “Little species-based pride?” Garnet said. A hint of mischief snuck into her voice. Gleefully avoiding all logic, reason and caution, she just really liked him. He seemed honest, and that smile, good God, that smile. She caught herself watching his face reflecting the neon from the garish drink menu and immediately forced herself to look away. “This is all new for me,” she admitted. “Blind dates, using one of those services? I dunno. It seems like I’m living someone else’s life and just watching the whole thing playing out through their eyes.” “That was way too philosophical for pre-happy hour,” he said with a smirk. “I hear you’re a journalist?” She nodded, still looking back and forth between the sign and where it reflected on her date’s cheek. “And I hear you hesitate to tell people what you do for a living for some reason?” “Wrestler,” he said. “I just like to get to know people a little to avoid that initial rush of judgment that seems to always come with finding that out.” “Freelance journalist and a professional wrestler,” Garnet said with a smirk . “I guess I part-time as a librarian’s assistant to make the bills. So between the two of us, at least one of us has a sort-of-normal job,” she smiled. “Normal’s boring,” the big bear said flatly. “And I need a drink. Care to introduce me to the fine world of Chinese, Thai, sushi and, uh, whatever cuisine?” FTC Advisory: Lynn Red provided me with a copy of Hare Today Bear Tomorrow by Lynn Red. Published through Lynn Red. Kindle Edition. No goody bags, sponsorships, “material connections,” or bribes were exchanged for my review.

Garnet Pendleton is a journalist and part-time librarian. Stacy Graves has been working the wrestling ring for way to long for his taste. Both of these individuals have something common with each other and that is they've finally realized that there is something missing in their lives and that is a mate. Stacy is a huge mountain of a man that could be more than a bit intimidating just for his size. His really doesn't like telling anyone about his profession since he thinks people would look down on him or think that that's all he can do. Getting this information out of him is a real job for Garnet. Her journalist instincts are "tingling" and has to wear Stacy down to satisfy her curiosity. These two fall head first in love with each other before they know it and before all questions have been answered. In the end there are a few things they have to figure out like Stacy's life on the road and her journalist career but they know that with the love they feel for each other will help them get everything figured out for their happily ever after.

Blade is a really large guy but that doesn't seem to bother Garnet at all. Garnet and Blade fall hard and are very comfortable with each other and enjoy talking and getting to know each other. This was a sweet short read because of course everyone loves happy endings.

I struggled through it to the halfway point then gave up. Garnett and Blade are about as emotionally mature as middle school kids. They fall in love on their first date and become completely non-functional from there on out, zoning out on work, conversations, and more. I get it that people can "fall in love at first sight" (feel incredible chemistry and connection) but these two think they really are in love! I also didn't like the way everything was so dated/old fashioned. There are references I struggled through it to the halfway point then gave up. There are references to waterbeds, Tom Selleck, Ginger Rogers, an 80's band mention, etc. It made me think of Garnett and Blade as characters older than they were actually supposed to be. I was hoping for a light, fun shifter read but this was just a little silly and immature for me.
