Ah. What a title? "The Timeless Love Romance Collection". It does induce a certain amount of expectations or desire to see how it makes it timeless. Not normally a fan of anthology collections or historical romances I was eager to try this because I actually thought that this book was part of a series I've been reading (A Timeless Romance). I'm so pleased that I made made a mistake and gave it a go. A UK reader I'm used to historical romance meaning regency and there are only so many variations on that theme. That meant I was absolutely fascinated by the stories here which showed elements of American history and society I knew nothing about. That meant I was absolutely fascinated by the stories here which showed elements of American history and society I knew nothing about. From the back drop of the Grand Canyon and the history of Harvey Girls, to the 1932 Olympics, or to a CCC camp, I felt that each story was introducing me to a new aspect of American culture and I learned something new along the way. As this was an anthology collection some of the stories spoke to me more than others. Sometimes I connected with the characters and other times it was the setting that I loved. I posted brief thoughts on each story as I went along. It's worth mentioning as well that as I had requested this by a happy accident I was unaware that this was a Christian Romance collection until I got started. Despite my Mum being a vicar I've never read anything from this genre before. I've done supernatural, clean, small town but never Christian. For others who haven't come across it before it simply means that instead of "following their hearts", the characters will pray and ask God if this is what He wants for them. Also, handsome and rich don't always dictate the rules of attraction. Godly and living a simple life often prevails. If you aren't a Christian still go ahead and read this. The stories aren't preachy and the Christian aspect leads to good conflict between characters desires and what is actually best for them. The Christian overtones also lend nicely to the historical settings as these were often every day concerns. There is kissing by the way so don't think you're going to be starved of passion. As its an anthology its not really meant to be read in one go. I would have enjoyed this more if I had sampled it and mixed it around longer reads. I did enjoy it and am now intrigued by this genre. Will be looking out for others in this series as well.

My interest in this book is: I enjoy reading collections because it offers a quick introduction to a group of authors previously unknown to me--like a story-telling treasure hunt. When I finished this book I felt: Satisfied. This is a solid collection of stories that is perfect for the busy woman who just wants to sit and unwind with a decent story. All the authors do a good job of developing their characters and bringing the reader along. I really enjoyed Nancy J. Farrier's The Richest Knight. It left room for me to want to read what happens next. Isn't that the point of a novella? To entice the reader? Well done Ms. Farrier! Darlene Mindrup's novella Shelter from the Storm, started off rough for me--descriptions in the beginning felt a little forced--but once we get rolling, her characters are very well developed and you can tell she has created solid backstory for each character without feeling the need to tell you all about it. Perfect! Loved Lynn A. Coleman's story. Olympic Hopes. It's honest & clear; she's blunt and to the point and her story resonates like a bell in a choir. She does a good job describing feelings, especially for YA who have never experienced love before and need a good example of what to do with the emotions and feelings of attraction and love. You can talk about love but this story helps the reader feel it. Overall: These are stories that won't take weeks to read. It's nice to have a group of stories that you can just pick up and unwind with, knowing you don't have to think a lot about anything--like watching a Hallmark movie. Stories range from 3.4-3.8 starts

Very nice diverse collection of stories. My only complaint was with the Harvey Girls stories and a few unclear written sentences, and the last story that it appears Garrison saw Willa with brown eyes, then later blue eyes.

Novellas. Some better than others. Some I wish they had filled out the story more. But, for short stories to read when you don't have a lot of time, they were okay. Novellas. I received a copy of this book free from Netgallery in exchange for an honest review. This is a set of 9 novellas in a range of time spans. I preferred the novellas that were set in the more distant past. Naturally I liked some of the stories better than others but that is true for any collection of stories. I think these were a good length so you can sit and finish one story in a sitting without having to spend too much time. All of the stories have the same thing of finding love but each is different and in a different time span. I think if you like short stories, romance and/or history you will find this to be good reads.

All but one were terrific I'm a Christian. I love romance and happy ending to relax by. I'm not a prude, think sex with my husband is absolutely fantastic but I don't need to read page after page of description. This was an anthology set of novellas that take place in the past across the country. Each novella features stories of heroes and heroines overcoming their circumstances to find happiness. This was a nice and fairly quick read. The stories were each unique and told about genuine love and kept things pretty clean, which isn’t a problem for me as long as the authors write well enough that I don’t feel it’s necessary. I highly recommend. **I voluntarily read and reviewed this book
