You've heard about apps that can transform the way you work, but you never have the time to figure out how to use them. You're too busy rushing from meeting to meeting and juggling your family and your "life". This book by Beth Ziesenis of Your Nerdy Best Friend does the work for you. With practical tips and a whole lot of humor, Beth walks you step by step through 27+ essential apps for work and home, plus hundreds of other resources and lists. Beth Z is a technology expert and proud nerd who shares the best apps, tech tools, widgets and gadgets to thousands of people a year. When you read this book, keep these thoughts in mind: These Tools Are a Starting Point For the most part, each tool is just one option in a very crowded and competitive category. I included alternatives to each, but that list is just a starting place for a plethora of competitors. These Tools Are Awesome I chose these particular tools for their dependability, multi-platform availability, popularity and ease of use. If you've attended any of my presentations, this book serves as the missing manual for many of the tools I talk about. This Book Is a Starting Point For each tool, you'll find insight, tips and ideas, but the sections are by no means exhaustive. If I covered all the functionality, each chapter would be a book by itself. The goal is to provide you some key techniques for making the most of the tool. After your scroll up and click the buy button join Beth Z's freaking fantastic weekly newsletter by visiting nerdy.bz/NerdWords. You'll get all the details on new apps and software that you need to make life and work a breeze!

Very helpful Excellent overview and introduction to many task based apps. Some familiar, well known applications, others might be new to most people. I even found new uses for applications I have already been using, some of them for years. I think productivity and efficiency will be greatly enhanced through the review and use of these programs. Highly recommend.

What a great book! Wonderful lists for techie shortcuts for everything from organizing your file at work to clearing out your junk drawer (closet, room, garage) at home. I especially appreciate her chapters about collaborating, designing and traveling. If you use apps in your personal or professional life, you need this book to find the best ones for you and to use them smarter!

There were a few apps I wasn't familiar with before, and Beth Has given a nice high-level overview of them. I look forward to trying out her recommendations to see how well they can apply to my needs. Outdated, but good This was a good guide when I bought it in 2015 and reading through it just now, I was reminded of some apps I could be using, and sadly some really good apps that are gone (like Worldmate). Ah well, internet speeds cause roadkill.

This writer is comprehensive, to the point, and gives alternatives, which I really like. She knows her stuff, and while I knew some of it, she also had some good pointers!
