Justin Morrell cares about only two things in his life: his job at BlackThorpe Security and his sister, Beth, and her family. After a family tragedy a decade earlier forced Justin to leave the military career he'd planned on in order to care for his thirteen-year-old sister, he has taken his role as her guardian seriously. So when bad news comes regarding his niece, Justin is determined to do what he can to fix the problem. Though it seems he can't change the events that are unfolding, he's determined to make sure that the woman that's showed up in Beth's life to help her is really on the up and up. There's just something about Alana Jensen and her son that doesn't add up, and Justin plans to use his resources at BlackThorpe to figure out why that is and then take the steps necessary to protect his family. It's been just over two years since Alana Jensen and her son fled an abusive home in Florida. For the past several months, Alana has been feeling that she and Caden may have finally found their new home. Her passion to help people who are dealing with a child newly diagnosed with hearing loss has brought them into contact with Beth and Daniel Olson and their daughter, Genevieve. Though they must live frugally, Alana finds that for the first time in her life, she feels happy and safe. She isn't keen to let people get close enough to know about her past and the scars she wears, but she finds herself unable to turn away the friendship that Beth and her husband offer to her. Everything would have been fine if Beth's brother hadn't shown up looking an awful lot like her ex and determined to paint her as a threat to his family. Justin's busy work schedule has left little room for a relationship with anyone but his family. That has worked fine until the day he finds that the walls he's kept around his heart have crumbled. Will he be able to make the changes necessary to let more people into his life, or will the job he's devoted his life to come out on top? Alana never planned to allow another man close--particularly one who shared the muscled physique of her ex. But when her son is determined that Justin Morrell is his new hero, she has to decide if she is willing to open herself up again. Will she be able to finally let go of her past and the hurts she's carried for so long and trust that God's will for her life just might include another shot at finding love? I continue to recommend reading Ms. Jordan’s works in date of publication sequence for the best reading experience. This story opens the door to reveal a glimpse of the issues deaf people deal with every day. It also does a great job dealing with the secret world of spousal abuse. Talk about a multidimensional story! Once I began reading, I could not put it down. How I wished for more available reading time. Just when I thought things might coast to a happily ever after conclusion, Kimberly created two significant plot shifts that blew me away. This story is not without its flaws, but they are relatively insignificant when considering the work as a whole. If you are interested a spellbinding reading experience, I recommend this book.

Possibly my favorite of the series In each of the BlackThorpe Security books, you get to know all of the characters a little better. Whether it’s Justin and Alana, or Alana’s son Caden, or Justin’s niece Genie, or his sister, Beth and brother-in-law, Dan... I just love this book - every single time that I read it! And this is at least the 3rd... or 4th??? time. And I can guarantee that it won’t be the last!

Who knew Justin was such a softie!!! I totally loved the story! Finding out why Justin is the way he is and then seeing him change was a great journey. And Alana is such a strong woman, all the things she's been through. Caden wrapped me right around his I Love You fingers. This was a great addition to the other stories Kimberly Rae Jordon has written, although it's only the second in the BlackThorpe series. Really looking forward to some more of these. After I read When There is Love I really wanted to read Justin's story. I wanted to see what would break through that hard facade that he kept toward the outside world. Signs of Love was awesome. I loved how the Alana and Justin grew throughout the story. I've never read a book that contained characters that spoke with sign language but I thought it was very well done in this book. I enjoyed Caden's sweet personality. After I read When There is Love I really wanted to read Justin's story. Handicapped,...we all are, in some way Fear can paralyze or motivate. Being deaf in a hearing world can be limiting or your loved ones can lift you up to be the best you can be. Really good tale of a brutalized Mom doing the best she can for her deaf son.

I was very disappointed with the divorce and remarriage in this book especially since the book and the characters were considered to be Christian.

SIGNS OF LOVE is the first book I’ve read from Kimberly Rae Jordan. I most certainly will be picking up the other installments in the Black Thorpe Security series. Alana Jensen is a survivor. I most certainly will be picking up the other installments in the Black Thorpe Security series. Alana Jensen is a survivor. A teen pregnancy, an estranged family, and an abusive marriage have made her resilient and extremely independent. Now, every decision Alana makes is done with her son, Caden, in mind. Being the single mother of a deaf child has made Alana fiercely protective of her son, and careful who she lets into their inner circle. That’s why she is wary of Justin Morell. The moment Alana is introduced to Justin, she’s guarded. His powerful physique and brooding personality are reminiscent of her ex-husband; definite red flags in Alana’s book. Figuring she’ll just keep her distance from Justin, she’s surprised to see her son immediately drawn to the larger than life man. Knowing her son needs a male influence in his life, Alana puts her own negative feelings for Justin aside. Even so, the more she observes the way Justin interacts with Caden, and his niece, Alana realizes Justin is one of the good guys. Unfortunately, her heart is beginning to feel the same way, too. Justin Morrell loves his job at Black Thorpe Security, almost as much as he loves his sister and her family. Justin and his sister, Beth, share a special bond. When Beth was only thirteen, their family was tragically killed, so Justin stepped in to become Beth’s guardian. Ten years later, Justin is still fiercely protective of his sister even though she is married and has a daughter of her own. Justin is devastated to find out his two-year-old niece, for some unexplained reason, has lost her hearing. He’s even more upset to find Alana Jensen, a complete stranger, offering to help the family adjust to living with a deaf child. Justin thinks it’s too convenient, and is sure Alana is running some kind of scam. Using the connections he has with other agencies, Justin finds out the truth to Alana’s secretive past. Knowing the hurt she’s hiding, Justin no longer questions Alana’s motives, and even allows himself to think of her as more than just an acquaintance. Never thinking he could have time for anything more than his family and his job, Alana and Caden have Justin rethinking his priorities. I really enjoyed SIGNS OF LOVE. Though Alana was soft-spoken and demure, she wasn’t a pushover. She had a bit of spunk to her that gave her depth and dimension. Justin from all outwards appearances was intimating and closed-off, but Ms. Jordan made sure the reader understood what made Justin tick—love for his family and passion for his job. He’s definitely an all-in kind of guy which makes him seem a little rough around the edges, but not without his charm. I’m going to need to back up and read GUARDING HER HEART (book one), before I move forward with the rest of the series.

This story deals with acknowledging, accepting and raising a deaf child. Alana and her son, Caden found what she had always longed for - acceptance for who she was and her deaf son. The abusive marriage she had escaped could have killed her, and her own parents and siblings rejected her when she got pregnant because she would not abort the baby. Now she was making friends and teaching another family how to deal with a deaf child. When she met Justin she was scared because he was tall and muscular like her ex had been. Caden quickly takes to Justin and loves being around him. Justin has a demanding job, loves his sister and niece but has difficulty accepting she is deaf. Will he be willing to accept and learn sign language so he can communicate with her? Justin is going to have to make adjustments in more ways than one.

Alana is a single mom raising a deaf son and offers to teach her friend Beth and her family sign language after they learn that their young daughter is losing her hearing. Justin lived for his job. When he went to his sisters house for dinner his whole life starts to change. Justin has a hard time trusting people around his sister and his niece. When he meets Alana and Caden it takes a while for him to realize they are good people just trying to help his sisters family. Watching their relationship grow is truly amazing. The author will have you on the edge of your seat waiting to see what happens next. This book deserves a higher rating.

Life changer Toucan even imagine how this book helped me. I read book one and enjoyed it very much but this biosphere spoke to me. It was like God used this book to speak to me. The story line was amazing the characters as well but the message...wow!!! The part when Justin is in the church during a wedding that the pastor was speaking and the words spoken was what my heart needed to hear! On to book three....yay!!

I really enjoyed the love story between Justine and Alana interlaced with lots of suspense. The story of Genevieve and Caden with their deafness was poignant. This book can be read as a stand alone but each book in the series builds on the last. I recommend this series for anyone who likes Christian Romantic suspense.

Second in the Blackthorpe Security series that I am trying to work through while I can find them free on Amazon's Prime lending. This one was very sweet. There were several of the characters from the first one that appeared in spots, so it was good to read them in order. Not necessary, but good.
