Although I do answer the outstanding questions from Nine Minutes, there is more to this story, and some readers may consider it a cliffhanger. Regardless of which category you fall into, I hope you enjoy the story. They thought with his execution it would all be over. They were wrong. The leader of one of South Florida’s most notorious and brutal motorcycle gangs has been put to death by lethal injection. Days later, his family and friends should have been picking up the pieces, moving on. Instead, they’ve been catapulted into a world so twisted and dangerous even the most ruthless among them would be stunned to discover the tangled web of deception, not only on the dangerous streets of South Florida but all the way to the top. In this gripping follow-up novel to Nine Minutes, Out of Time takes readers from the sun-drenched flatlands of 1950s Central Florida to the vivid tropical heat of Fort Lauderdale to the halls of Florida’s Death Row as we finally learn the gritty backstory of Jason “Grizz” Talbot and the secret he spent his life trying to conceal. Not even Grizz’s inner circle knows his full story—the tragedy that enveloped his early life, the surprise discovery that made him the government’s most wanted and most feared, and the depths of his love for Ginny, the tenderhearted innocent he’d once abducted and later made his wife. Once Grizz’s obsession and now the mother of his child, Ginny has spent years grieving the man she’d first resisted and then came to love. Now remarried to Tommy, a former member of the gang, the pair have spent more than a decade trying desperately to live a normal existence far from the violent, crime-ridden world they’d once carved out on the edge of the Florida Everglades. For Tommy, especially, the stakes are high. Desperately in love with Ginny for years, he’s finally living his dream: married to the woman he never thought he could have. But even with the façade of normalcy—thriving careers, two beautiful children, and a genuinely happy and loving marriage—they can’t seem to put the past behind them. Every time they turn around, another secret is revealed, unraveling the very bonds that hold them together. And with Grizz finally put to death, now Ginny has learned secrets so dark, so evil she’s not even sure she can go on. Will these secrets tear their love to pieces? And how far will Grizz go to protect what he still considers his, even from beyond the grave?

5+ stars! When I read Nine Minutes at the end of last year I remember being completely blown away. I was really excited to read the sequel but also extremely nervous. I was nervous that the book wouldn’t live up to my expectations. The first book was so great, they were very high. But it did. 100% lived up to all my expectations. Maybe even exceeded them. Reading Out of Time was an experience. I cried, I felt, my heart raced and I chewed off every one of my nails. This book jacked me up. It blew my mind. I am still thinking about it, calculating what will happen next in my head. The hours I read I was completely and utterly immersed in these characters story. It’s been two days since I’ve finished this book. Two days and I still find my mind drifting to this story… The story was told in the present (2000) with various flashbacks to the past. We get Grizz’s childhood, Grunt’s childhood, Ginny’s childhood and all the times the three of them were together. It’s written in a way that’s easy to follow. Secrets are revealed. Some are kept. It’s a story of hope, love, lies, betrayal, soul mates and family. Kit is one of those fantastic heroines. I love her and admire her strength. This book showcased just how strong she really is. Grizz is and will always be my favorite character of this series. He’s just one of those characters you can’t help but root for. Now to Grunt- when I finished Nine Minutes, I was not a Grunt fan. However, he really grew on me in this book. I don't know if it was getting a look into his past or finding out what really did or didn’t go down, but still. I’ll admit I did like him a bit. But this girl is still 100% #TeamGrizz. I really don’t want to say anything else about the story. It’s one you need to read for yourself, experience for yourself. If Out of Time shows you anything, it’s that Beth Flynn is not a one hit wonder. This book was equally as epic as the first. Her stories are brilliant and everything is woven together perfectly. There were so many things that were revealed in this story, but there are still so may questions I have. Yes, it ends in a cliffhanger but I knew that going into it. That last chapter… last page… last line. Gah! I’m dying to see what direction she takes in the third and final chapter of the Nine Minutes trilogy. This is one I highly recommend and it’s going straight towards the top of my 2015 favorites list!

Is anyone else hoping that book two brings a twist with a different ending for Grizz??? So now that I have read the book I can say I am pleased so far. Book 3 will for sure be the deciding factor but it looks as though things are lining up and a lot has been explained so far. Honestly, this is one of those books that seems almost impossible to review without spoiling, so I will keep it vague. Days after the execution, Ginny thought the past would finally be behind her and her family, but instead they are forced to face truths they never expected. Out of Time gives the reader glimpses into the past, including events prior to the timeline from Nine Minutes. Questions are answered, secrets revealed, and an ending that will leave you desperate for the next book. I was on the edge of my seat throughout this read, not knowing what to expect, what was to be revealed next. It was a highly entertaining ride. Ginny, Grizz, and Grunt are all such unique characters, beautifully flawed and enduring. I loved the glimpses into the past. Grizz's childhood, and moments with Grunt when he was younger. Meeting Ginny for the first time. I truly felt the love both of these men had for Ginny. I loved every minute. Overall, Beth did a wonderful job with this book. Full of twist and turns, and some reveals, I never saw coming. There are a few things that felt a bit ott, but for me, it didn't bother me enough to take from my overall enjoyment of the story. I'm not sure what to expect next from Beth, I'll admit, I'm a bit scared, but I will be anxiously waiting for the third book. "The only truth you ever need to know is that my love for you is real and will never go away. And everything I've done, no matter how it looks, is so you could be protected. I never wanted to be without you, but it's not my choice now." *Won an ARC in a contest*Woohoo! Thanks, Beth!

2.5 Stars ”So many secrets, so many lies. If she’d had her head in the sand, it certainly wasn’t her fault.” I was super excited to get my hands on this sequel and the length of the story had me even more amped up to have hours of time with Grizz, Ginny and Grunt and finally get some long overdue answers. Sadly, this sequel was so loaded down with USELESS INFORMATION (I mean there’s a whole little chapter about an old man and jerk hair salon guy which was completely irrelevant and that’s just 2.5 Stars ”So many secrets, so many lies. Sadly, this sequel was so loaded down with USELESS INFORMATION (I mean there’s a whole little chapter about an old man and jerk hair salon guy which was completely irrelevant and that’s just one example.) A good 40 percent of the story could have been cut out for details of just nonsense and don’t even get me started on the OVER THE TOP connections and reveals! The time line is all over the place however that actually worked for me it’s the reveals and such I wish I could just spew out all the nonsense that was tossed at me. Here's just one glimpse: ”You’re telling me that you saw a map of our future? Like, a Nostradamus document or something?” Once again we aren’t introduced to any new members of this gang. Seriously it’s Grizz, Blue and Axel with business partners everywhere? What the heck does the gang do on a day to day bad guy basis? Also, learning Grizz’s real name is harder than finding out what Jesse Ward’s actual age is!! Overall, we get a ton of information that isn’t needed and information that is important was hard to digest for this reader with a straight face. You will learn whether or not Grizz is dead or alive and for me that was all I was looking for. Not sure the need for a book 3 but at this time I’m iffy if I’ll give it a shot. ”… but it all made sense now.” Thank you Anjee and Jennifer for the Buddy Read! We sure love to play detectives too bad this was too ridiculous to actually get to use our skills!

SIX DAYS IT TOOK ME TO FINISH THIS BOOK!!!!!!! Every night I found myself doing this..... And this..... then this...... oh and who could forget this???? To say that this book was a HUGE disappointment to me is an understatement. What happened to that amazing story I read oh SO MANY MANY MONTHS AGO???!!! I was bored to tears throughout and my brain was hurting from all of the minutiae the author included in this installment. This book goes back from past to present so frequently that it gave me a friggin headache!! And sometimes it didn't go in sequential order! I will say I loved getting the history around Grizz's childhood and also how he became so involved in Ginny's life. I even found myself liking Grunt. Grunt was very charming as a young boy. I know where this went downhill for me. There were too many different back stories going on that involved a multitude of characters who all seemed to have more than one name and I thought that everything meant something, so I ended up writing notes!!! When you have to write down notes to try to keep the story straight, there is something SERIOUSLY WRONG here!!! But around the 87% mark, I really was fed up with this book! What in the hell was that revelation about?? Why did the author throw that in there? Did I just read a Science Fiction novel?? That is not my preferred genre. What happens towards the end with a certain cricket seemed a little TOO CONVENIENT for my liking. What a small fucking world Huh??!!! I know that even though this was not my favorite book, I'm still going to be a glutton for punishment and will read the final book. Maybe the author will get the story back on the right track. And I leave you with this final thought.....

1.5 stars! This is definitely a minority opinion. A lot of my friends loved this book. LOVED. Unfortunately for me, it was a big bust. There's a thin line between edgy and tumbling over a cliff of implausibility, in my opinion. Out of Time was the latter. It just went from edgy to the over the top real fast. Nine Minutes was one of my top books last year. It didn't get a full 5 stars but I still loved it for what it is: an intriguing account of an abduction that changed the lives of those who wer 1.5 stars! This is definitely a minority opinion. It didn't get a full 5 stars but I still loved it for what it is: an intriguing account of an abduction that changed the lives of those who were involved. That book ended on a crazy twist that I didn't see coming, and to say that I was anxious to get answers in this book was an understatement. But as I started reading, I got this sinking feeling in my stomach...none of it is making sense for me. It felt like the author gathered all the plot twists she could think of and put them all in this book. Whatever you're thinking of, it's probably in this book. It came to a point where I actually thought this guy was going to show up. Out of Time started where Nine Minutes left off. Ginny just found out that Grunt was Grizz's son. But the revelations didn't stop there. Oh no. That was just the beginning. The twists and turns were crazy. And far-fetch. And did I mention crazy? I'm all for crazy but I'm afraid it was all over the place and didn't move the narrative along. In fact the twists and turns halted the narrative, and the book went in entirely different direction. That's not always bad. In fact, that can be a good thing but it has to make narrative sense. I'm sorry but the twists and turns in this book didn't make sense and had no build up whatsoever. It didn't move the story or the characters. All it did was to illicit shock. If the author intended this book just to shock, then she succeeded. I'll just sit here in my corner and rock myself to sleep because clearly, I misread everything. But if the author's intention was tell an intriguing but coherent story with characters that I could invest in, then she failed because I didn't get that. I didn't recognized Ginny, Grunt or Grizz. They're buried under the weight of their respective plot twists and drama reveals. I can't even...And there were so many unnecessary information that my brain couldn't handle everything. ARC provided in exchange for an honest review. ________________________________________________________________ Gah! Want this book now! I'm kinda scared that this will end up becoming a romantic triangle. Just based on the teasers alone, it seems to be going in that direction with readers scrambling to be on #TeamGrizz or #TeamGrunt. I hope I'm wrong. I have to say, I'd be disappointed if that happens. One of the reasons why I loved this book was that despite the romance between Grizz and Ginny and then later on Grunt and Ginny, I felt like this was Ginny's journey to freedom and taking her life back after it being cruelly taken away from her. I still want to see some romance but I don't want it to become another triangle. For the love of God, please let someone who's been dead stay dead. I'd still read this but yeah...I'm neither Team Grizz orTeam Grunt. I'm Team Ginny all the way!!

WOW! WOW! WOW! I’m overwhelmed with so many thoughts and feelings it’s hard to express them properly without giving anything away. When I finished this book at 1 am I spent the whole night tossing and turning because the brilliance of OUT OF TIME kept playing through my mind. ”The world was rotten and so was everybody in it.” Gah, this was a true statement if I've ever one. ✻ In ‘Nine Minutes’ we learned about Ginny’s childhood and how neglectful her parents were in raising her but what we didn’t see was WHY they were so neglectful of their daughter. I’m not excusing her parents behavior but in this book the reader sees what events caused her parents to become the people we read about in book one. ✻ When it came to Grizz’s childhood we travel back to when he was a young boy in the ‘50s and the events that lead to him in the motel where in 'Nine Minutes' we learn about him. ✻ Last but not least, he’s my favorite since book one, is Grunt / Tommy. We get a glimpse into his childhood also and see what kind of conditions he had to endure. Overall the insight we gain from going back to the past was beneficial in rounding out the characters. ”... heartless bastard.” Really, who wouldn’t be under the conditions they were raised in. No one loved or cared for Grizz... let alone showed any compassion for him as a child. Being a heartless bastard was a result of the environment ”Everybody had their demons.” The revelations that are revealed left me speechless. We learned so much and our questions from book one are answered but this story isn’t over which leads to new questions and speculations. Just when I think I had something figured out I’d learned that not everything was as it seems. ”It had to be on information overload.” All the information revealed about the characters, the situation, and the love stories had me grasping at straws because the minute I’d learn something I was jonesing for more. ”Both he and Grizz were guilty of letting her live her life based on secrets.” ‘Out of Time’ is Ginny’s discovery of the unknown. She spent her time living in a sheltered world. She knew bad stuff was happening but she stayed away from it. Staying oblivious to her surroundings was the key to her sanity during her time at the motel. Plus the two main guys in her life protected her from matters that were ugly and not necessary for her to experience. I’ve been thinking about this book for days! When asked what's the appeal was I shared how it reminded me of the Twilight allure. I’m not saying this is a Twilight fan fiction or that it even has a similar story because it DOESN’T. What I am saying is - here is a girl who is the center of two guys’ worlds. They’ll do anything and everything to protect her while vying for her love. What girl wouldn't want to be the center of a man affection, let alone two of them? Both willing to sacrifice everything for her happiness and safety - HELL YEAH! Right there - that's the appeal. Another reason I love escaping into fiction - being able to live vicariously through characters. Let’s not forget the humor in this book. I laughed in several spots which I wasn’t expecting. The banter helped lighten the tone of this INTENSE book. If you read Nine Minutes and you were left wanting MORE than this is your MORE. Overall this quote summed the book up for me: PEOPLE IN LOVE ARE WILLING TO DO DESPERATE THINGS. It's the essences of the story!!! And yes, there's another book coming out in 2016 and I know to EXPECT THE UNEXPECTED while reading that one. ✦✦✦✦✦✦✦✦✦✦✦✦✦✦✦✦✦✦✦✦✦✦✦✦✦✦✦ RELEASE DATE: July 23, 2015 Pre-order | order: http://amzn.to/1KlCQxr Book one is currently on sale for $1.99 http://amzn.to/1CIuYn4 SERIES: To find out when the next book will be released click here. **Complimentary copy in exchange for an honest review.**

5 stars!!!! When I read Nine Minutes last year I was completely blown away. I was in awe of Beth Flynn’s simplistic yet gripping writing style and the original plot that had me turning the pages so fast I finished the book in just two hours. Because of how much I adored Nine Minutes, I was so scared to start Out of Time, fearing it would tarnish the masterpiece that is Nine Minutes, and when I got an advanced copy, I even pushed the book back several times (I’m stubborn like that). But now that I 5 stars!!!! But now that I’ve read it, I feel like a total idiot for ever doubting Beth Flynn because if anything, Out of Time has proved to me that she is not a one hit wonder. The months I’ve waited for this sequel are all worth it, and I couldn’t be happier with the direction she took and what she’s done with these characters. Simply put, I am in awe of her writing ability and skill. However, I do have to throw out that I had a very grueling reading experience with this book, and it wasn’t because it was bad or anything, but because so many things Beth incorporated went against my personal reading tastes, but she was still able to make me love this book just as much as the first. For starters, it took me almost a full day to read this book compared to the speedy two hours before, and the main reason was that most of this book’s plot is centered on what happened in the past (there are still many chapters that are set in the present though!). I’ve always been transparent about hating time gaps, time jumps, basically any story plot that isn’t continuous and jumps around a lot, and yes, Out of Time does exactly that. Not only are there time jumps, but also multiple different person POVs, and at first I was so NOT a fan of this kind of storytelling. Sometimes the chapters would be inserted in a seemingly random place and when I read it I wondered what was Beth thinking? But regardless, I kept going and pretty soon, I totally got why she did what she did. At first these chapters just felt like loads of information I didn’t need, but the more I read, the more I realized everything in the beginning was needed to fully understand the latter half of the book. It was brilliantly done. Another thing I can’t forget to mention is...the TWISTS! Holy flying cows and pigs, so many new revelations that left me speechless and gasping! I was able to guess one of them, but the others (especially towards the end) I could not stop OMG-ing when I read them. And that last chapter, last page, hell, even the last line…what was that?! <-- I totally say that in a shocked-but-in-a-good-way way. Just like book 1, I can’t say anything about the plot itself because it’s just got to be experienced first hand – there’s no other way. And nowadays, it’s so hard for me to find stories that will genuinely surprise me and challenge my easily-bored, always-wandering mind, but I have met my match with Nine Minutes and Out of Time. I love that Beth Flynn’s stories – especially this one – make me think hard and love each and every one of these characters harder. I don’t know what’s more impressive: writing an exceptional debut that is Nine Minutes, or following that up with an even more outstanding sequel that rivals it. Either way, it’s 2 out of 2 right now, and I’m on pins and needles dying to get my hands on the third and final book. I just know it’ll be a huge winner like this one was! We were so engrossed and thought wow what a start to what is surely going to be a fantastic sequel on par with its predecessor. “Don’t act like I saved you.” “But you did.” What we enjoyed and kept us from putting this story down was the mystery of Grizz and how it all came to be. The characters themselves didn’t lose their fascination for us rather it was the over written, coincidental and unbelievable storyline that broke the connection with us as readers. Yes we know this is fiction, however, there has to be a shred of real and believability in order to place ourselves in the story. Also, less truly is more because this story had every single scenario and added storylines you can imagine including the kitchen sink, hang no in this case it was the spaghetti pot. At times we were expecting Doc from Back to the Future or the call sign in Gotham City. We just cannot believe that this brilliant Author who wrote one of our favourite books ever wrote Out of Time. We also have to add that the timeline was questionable, as ages and circumstances didn’t work out or slot together. One of the reasons being that the story became so convoluted that it lost itself at times and became somewhat contradictory. It felt as though this obviously talented author had lost her voice in Out Of Time when comparing it to the unique rawness of Nine Minutes. Was it the editing? Did it fall foul to outside influences? We’re not sure but whatever the cause, the originality of her voice in Nine Minutes is what had us gagging to pick this one up but sadly her voice felt smothered in Out of Time. “Are we the good guys or the bad guys?” “We’re whoever the fuck we want to be, kid.” Out of Time ends on a cliff-hanger; so of course we will be back for more as some of the questions which were answered left us wanting the resulting new questions resolved. Here’s to hoping that Beth Flynn returns to her own unique voice, the one we fell in love with in Nine Minutes. Reviewed from an ARC copy received from the author with thanks

Ok, I'm ready. Let's do this. Update 7/12/15: So apparently this is now going to be a 3 book series From Beth's website: "Out of Time is book two in a series. It is not a standalone novel. I highly recommend that you read my first novel, Nine Minutes, to be able to understand the background stories of the main characters. There are many twists and turns in both stories that can best be connected if read consecutively. Although I do answer all of the outstanding questions from Nine Minutes, there is more to this story, and some readers may consider it a cliffhanger. If you do not like cliffhangers, you may want to wait until the third novel is released in 2016...." GRRRRRRRRRRR! To read on July 23, or wait until book fucking 3 is released...

Alright, I had to sit and let this story marinate in my brain..(scary thought-I know!!!) and in all seriousness I had to do something I never have done before. I changed my rating, the more I really sat down and thought about the story as a whole. I still maintain that Beth Flynn is a genius in my eyes. She has my utmost respect as an author. Not a lot of writers could pull off what she has done with this series so far. My dilemma comes from the amount of information that was thrown at us reader Alright, I had to sit and let this story marinate in my brain..(scary thought-I know!!!) and in all seriousness I had to do something I never have done before. I changed my rating, the more I really sat down and thought about the story as a whole. I still maintain that Beth Flynn is a genius in my eyes. She has my utmost respect as an author. Not a lot of writers could pull off what she has done with this series so far. My dilemma comes from the amount of information that was thrown at us readers. I mean, I have trouble remember basic facts on a good day..not to mention that you can ask my daughters, and they will tell you that I forget our conversations, names...you get the idea. So, this story was an extreme challenge for me. It took me double the time to finish because truthfully, I had to take notes like I was in school! LOL I had to, or I would have never kept anything or anyone straight. It kept me on my toes, that is for sure; but a huge concern that I have is by the time book three comes out..It will be hard as heck to remember the fine details. The other big OOPS for me in this story comes towards the end. Of course I can't explain myself super clearer as I don't want to wreck the story for anyone else. What I will say is that some of the reveals started to become very far fetched. They went on a totally different tangent than what the original story vibe was all about. I know, that sounds clear as mud..but just trust me; you will know what I am talking about when you get to that part! LOL Anyway, I don't want to make it sound like I didn't enjoy the book because I did. I was held somewhat captivated by certain things. Grizz's past, and Grunt's childhood was a huge positive for me. I loved learning about them as a whole, and how they came to be the way they are and who they are. Even some of the history was a great refresher, and I didn't mind that at all. The bouncing from past to present at times was confusing; but so was all the different names. Most of the characters had their "MC' names, and then their real names. This would be where my note taking came into play! That is it in a nutshell. These are the reasons why I changed my rating to a 3 stars. Will I read book 3? You bet your boots I will. We did end up with another cliffy..and I was prepared for it, and went ahead and read the book anyway. I just cross my fingers that we don't have to wait a whole year to get the next book! I still do feel this is a must read book to the fans of Nine Minutes. Just don't expect the same intensity that you got from the first book. Out of Time is just a whole different kind of story, yet all the information you will need for the conclusion of all of these characters lives. Oh, and I am super happy that I had buddies to share in the experience with. I prefer to have company in my confusion! LOL SO thank you buddies!♥ Buddy Read with my ladies!!! "Patty, Sharon, Tiffany, Dee, Kelli, Melissa, and Steph!!! " This is gonna be a ton of fun!!!!♥♥

TITLE: Out of Time SERIES: (Nine Minutes #2) AUTHOR: Beth Flynn GENRE: Contemporary Romance RELEASE DATE: July 23rd 2015 MY RATING: 5 STARS Note from the author: This is going to be a crazy, exciting, and somewhat complicated ride. And remember: Things aren’t always what they seem. This was sooooo FUCKING GOOD!! AMAZEBALLS GOOD!! AWESOMELY GOOD!! *Whispers* I LOVED this book more than NINE MINUTES!! More Twists and Turns that I did not see coming!! Without spoiling it for others I just want to say that that ending is a cliffy with more questions left unanswered.. Mind fuckery at it's best, book funk at it's worst.. The author hit the nail on the head with the above "Things aren't always what they seem" In NINE MINUTES I was a Grizz girl now this book for me is where the mind fuck has come into it, because I saw a different side to Grunt aka Tommy in this book, he's not that c*ntface we saw in book #1. Everything he did he did for Gwinny..So like Ginny I'm in love with two men!! Ohhhh gods the beginning of this is heartbreakingly raw, even though my heart is breaking from the story I can't stop reading, like a train going off the rails at high speed, heart racing, heart breaking I'm a glutton for punishment needing to know what happens next.. Before: The story starts off in the 1950s, Central Florida, this is where it all begins, the boy and his sister are regularly abused, neglected by the hands of their parents, Ida is the boys step mother and how she treats her little daughter is despicable, it will have your heart breaking in parts but rooting when karma strikes back.. Brother tell me a story. Tell me a happy story where things don't hurt and everybody is nice. See the brightest star Ruthie? He'd tell her as they gazed out their window. That's you. You're the brightest, most beautiful star in the sky. Where are you brother? Are you there too? She asked him once I'll always be the one that's closest to you. To Now: The year 2000, two days after Grizz’s execution.. This takes us right back to things we never knew, when Grizz first started taking an interest in Gwinny's welfare..We're also seeing more of Runty Grunt since he started living at the motel at a very young age right back to when he was introduced as Blue's brother and where he fitted into Gwinny's early years also, this goes way back more than Nine Minutes showed us..It all makes more sense now piece by piece it's all slowly making a puzzle.. Grunt is fiercely protective of who he loves, first we saw it with Moe and then Ginny, but it's always been Ginny So many deceptions covered up, lies un earthed, twists and turns, gods this book is going to send me either to the bottle or therapy lol, but the author did warn us the readers that it was going to be a crazy ride..(understatement)

Out of Time picks up exactly where Nine Minutes ended. From the first paragraph until the very end I was on the edge of my seat. There are so many questions I needed answers to and so many things I wanted to happen in the story. The only thing I can tell you is Beth more than delivered. I would best describe Out of Time as the book that shows us what shaped our characters. It also shows us that things are never what they seem. The story is told perfectly with reflections of the past as they discuss the present. It flows from one scene to the next flawlessly and allows us to live the scene instead of reading an overview of the past. Ginny is such a unique character. She is selfless, protective, and loves with her whole heart. She hates violence and is always looking for the positive in the situation, yet she fell for a man who couldn’t be more opposite. To say Grizz is rough around the edges would be putting it mildly. He is the beast to her beauty. He doesn’t share about his past or who he is and he never shows weakness. I loved learning more about Ginny and Grizz’s past and their time together. I think the most telling part of the story is seeing Grunt’s POV from Nine Minutes. Please note, this is no way a retelling, but we did get to see his POV in some of the key moments. I feel like I have the rest of the story now. Learning more about Grunt’s past was surprising and revealed so much more regarding his feelings for Ginny. Do we have closure, no way, I have a whole bunch of new questions and speculations. It’s funny because Nine Minutes was supposed to be a standalone, but now that I have read Out of Time I can’t imagine not seeing the full picture. I highly recommend this book, it blew my mind and made me fall more in love with these characters. If you haven’t read Nine Minutes I suggest taking a chance. I know all our tastes are different, but it’s the kind of book everyone should at least try. Believe me when I tell you I never expected to fall in love with a story about a MC President abducting a 15 year old girl, but I did. To this day this story still owns my thoughts! However, there were so many revelations which are going to leave you gobsmacked. However there were some which I found far-fetched; I mean if it were any other book I would have believed it but this one really changed from the premises of the first book. It went out of the way but overall this was a nice read. Style of writing : To be honest, I had a hard time keeping up with the shifts in time. Then this one was narrated in 3rd person which is good but the story will shift from one person to another and it’s only after reading a paragraph or so that we’ll get to know about which character we’re getting information on. Apart from that little hiccup I loved her writing… Characters : For one I must say that there are too many characters present in this book. If you do not want to struggle with this one, you must read or scan read ‘Nine Minutes’ and then start this one; because I couldn’t keep track of who was who…Then, I just cannot say more about them because it’ll ruin the fun for you. Favorite Part : I love Ralph’s story! What did not work? As mentioned above…The writing. And then more than 75% of the book is the re-telling of ‘Nine Minutes’ but from different povs which really bored me. I was struggling with this book for more than 75% but yes the rest of the 25% was more entertaining and we have new revelations which impressed me but as mentioned it took the book to a completely different track which made it difficult for me to digest! Similar books? Nope.. Recommended : If you’re a fan of Nine Minutes and want to know how the story continues then yes why not! Click On The Color Splashes To Join Me ;)

2 stars Update. After much reflection I am lowering to a 2. The bad did not outweigh the good in this one, even though I really wanted it to. Where do I begin? Nine Minutes was one of my favorite books from last year. It left me so conflicted but so happy as a reader that I got something different from the usual romance story. Grizz was one of those characters you don't see a lot, where he's a bad man but wonderful to his woman. And for me, as long as he's not a dick I am good with that. An 2 stars Update. And I'd also like to note what's funny about my reading experience of Nine Minutes, I never saw Grizz as a romantic interest, but that's because of the prologue in that book. So after seeing lots of discussions of people being Team Grizz here on Goodreads and over on Facebook, it opened up my mind to new possibilities. I had always been Team Grunt because I didn't think there was another Team. That's what happens when you don't open your mind to other possibilities kiddos! Out of Time was just an okay read for me. Positives of the book included an amazing backstory on Grizz and how he became the man he was. Just an absolutely heart wrenching story, things happened to him that would have broken any person but he survived and prevailed. I also loved the backstory on Grunt and his involvement in Ginny's life as well. It helped the readers see his motivations we couldn't see in Nine Minutes. This is where I list what didn't work for me and what made this book a 2 stars. I didn't care for the time jumps at all, they were a bit too confusing for me. Luckily the author would give some context at the beginning of the chapters or I would have been completely lost. And not to try and compare this to the first book, but I devoured that one in a matter of hours. It took me DAYS to finish this one and I was pushing myself hard. It just didn't suck me in like Nine Minutes did. Last, I felt the last 25-30% of the book was way over the top. The twists didn't hold any wow factor for me, in fact they did the complete opposite. I felt like they came out of nowhere and didn't relate to the story as a whole, and to me they were unnecessary. I think Beth Flynn is an absolutely amazing writer and author, and while I just liked this book I would happily read anything else by her in the future. This particular book just didn't click as much with my personal reading tastes as the first one did. BUT REMEMBER! I seem to be in the minority with just liking it and not loving it, so I encourage you to read it yourself and make up your own mind. Everyone has different reading tastes and so many people loved this, I think you as a reader should give it a shot. ARC kindly provided by TRSOR in exchange for a review

2.5 Stars!! Initially I didn’t want to review this book. First, because it’s almost impossible to write a review without spoiling everything 'important' and secondly, because I have mixed feelings about it. I enjoyed “Nine minutes”, the first book in the series, I truly did. It was great read, almost exceptional, refreshing even, but this second book left me so conflicted that honestly I didn’t even wanted to rate it. Anyway...while the first book was almost entirely plausible, this second book well...it wasn’t. Not entirely, of course, but many events weren’t and many of them felt a little ridiculous and made me roll my eyes more times than I can count. This second book picks up where the previous book ended. We get to find out more about these characters – Grizz, Ginny and Grunt. What I loved the most were the chapters where Grizz’s past is revealed. He was an interesting character to say the least. These characters are forced by certain circumstances to face truths they never expected. There are many ‘truths’ and revelations that I didn’t see them coming. However, most of the revelations felt a little too much for me, a little over the top. There are many revelations and there are many secrets and there are also many connections. In my humble opinion TOO MANY!! Like the gif at the beginning of my review suggests, this book gave me a headache. It took a super long time to finish this book. And one of the reasons for it is the fact that there are lots and lots of information about everything and everyone. It was TOO MUCH. It goes without saying there are many twists and turns. There is a big, important twist that I really see it coming (view spoiler)[that Grizz is still alive (hide spoiler)] It was obvious for me especially since I already knew this series will be a trilogy. Of course, this installment ends with a cliffhanger and I’m looking forward to read the last book in the series because I’m dying to know how everything will end. Overall, a good enough read!

HOW can ANYONE in their right mind like him? He's just so DESPICABLE! Anyways, the only person I remotely like is Tommy (Grunt) and even he was pretty shitty in my opinion. And well, we all know how that ends... This book was so far-fetched and completely un-freakin-believable. It was like reading the shittest soap opera imaginable. Oh, and the names/nicknames or whatever are downright awful! Thank goodness for spoilers on A Gift of Time reviews because I will NOT be torturing myself by reading this garbage any further! 3 Things Aren't Always What They Seem Stars! (BR with Sharon, Patty, Dee, Kelli C., Tiffany, Jen B. & Steph) -The real love story was right under your nose the whole time. You just didn't see it. A story about a man who has loved me from the very beginning, from the first glance. The man who always was and still is my soul mate. -I meant what I said about you being my soul mate, Tommy. But I also think a person can have more than one. -"You're my soul mate, Ginny. You know I've loved you since I 3 Things Aren't Always What They Seem Stars! A story about a man who has loved me from the very beginning, from the first glance. The man who always was and still is my soul mate. -I meant what I said about you being my soul mate, Tommy. But I also think a person can have more than one. -"You're my soul mate, Ginny. You know I've loved you since I first laid eyes on you." In this book Grunt & Ginny are married with a family & Grizz was put to death in prison. Ginny finds out her whole life is based on lies & the two men she's loved have kept secrets from her. She realizes she hasn't made a decision for herself in 25 years & is struggling with her life. We don't know if Grizz is really dead or alive, and there are many things from the past that come out. -She would always be his Kitten. -Kit was his addiction. He couldn't get enough of her. -If there was anything Grizz had a difficult time with, it was saying no to Kit. He would move the earth for her if it was within his power. -For someone with such a mean streak, he had a certain quality of vulnerability that I fell in love with. -"I love you with an intensity that scares me. It's why I stay. It's why I overlook so much." For me this book was kind of confusing & had too much going on. I really enjoyed the beginning & finding out more about Grizz's past & Grunt's childhood, but by about 50% I was a bit bored, & wanting more of the present time. I love both Grizz & Grunt, & enjoyed all the scenes Ginny has with both men in the flashbacks. I feel they both truly love her with all their heart & would do anything for her, but I ultimately want her with Tommy in the end. I feel like she wasn't ever really cut out for Grizz's dangerous lifestyle, & that she has built a life & family over the years with Tommy. Not sure how this series will end up, but by the end of this book I was feeling kind of over it. I didn't care for the direction it went in the end & it was stressful lol. Not sure if I'll read the last one or not. :/

After all the crazy twists and What-the-hell-did-I-just-read questions from Nine Minutes, well, the expectations were HIGH. It would be unrealistic to expect BF to deliver an equally as impressive book. And she didn't...unfortunately. So let's cut to the quick... It would be unrealistic to expect BF to deliver an equally as impressive book. And she didn't...unfortunately. So let's cut to the quick... If you thought you were going to get all ~ or most of the answers to your questions ~ WRONG! If you thought the book would be laid out in a straightforward and understanding manner ~ WRONG! If you thought you had a good handle on the characters and knew who was who ~ WRONG! If you thought what was going on with Grizz would be something logical ~ WRONG! If you thought there wouldn't be any clichés ~ WRONG! If you thought you could read this book and catch every little fact ~ WRONG! This book is as confusing as hell! And it's not just the time changes from the present to several people's pasts. It's the addition of several new characters that not only have names but nicknames or gang names or "WTH" mystery names...and that applies to the old characters as well. It doesn't help that it's 457 pages long! Another issue is that there are some scenes that are hard to know what ~ or if ~ they mean anything. I kept waiting for something to tie it together...and nothing. Maybe next book? I would really recommend some type of flow chart or time line to help you keep everything straight. I even took notes and while I feel good about knowing who's who, you just can never be sure. Plus I'm sure by the time the next book comes out, I will have forgotten most of this! The best part is getting Grizz's history and getting some answers especially with regards for his reasons for certain events. But along with that history, comes the "item" that allows Grizz to do what he does and let me tell you, I was SHOCKED! WTH! All I can do is shake my head...why, BF, why would you go there? I thought Scully and Mulder were going to show up at any minute! Sadly, it doesn't end there...there's two events at the end that are just so cliché that at this point, I was thinking why the hell not? *SMDH* I'm not really going to go into all the events that happen...there's just too much and well, you really need to read it yourself. However, I WILL be reading the next ~ and hopefully ~ last book, untitled for now and possibly out early 2016 but who knows? I do know that based on how this book ended, you will want to read it. Favorite quote: ♥ “What are you writing down now?” Grizz asked. “I’m taking notes to research something later.” “What do you need to research?” “I need to learn why Gwinny’s boobies need training.” ♦ BR w/Melissa, Dee, Patty, Tiff, Jen, Steph and Kelli!! (Prior to Review) i was good until we found out what was in the bag...i mean really? i can't wait for the next book though!

♥ ♥ ♥ 3 STARS ♥ ♥ ♥ I don't....I just don't...I don't know. This book wasn't what I was expecting. Some parts I did like and enjoy. Especially when I started because it was great seeing all the characters again. Nine Minutes was such an incredibly raw story that was quite the page turner. But in this one, at some point in the middle, I just got so freaking bored. All this information was thrown at me like crazy--I'm talking like ALOT--and I guess it was hard for me to follow. It didn't help that the info we were given was given out of order and jumping all over the timeline. It kept going to past to present to even further in the past to present. It was hard to keep track of it all. Things did pick at the very end, but I totally guessed what was going to happen. I don't know, I keep saying that because it's so hard for me to rate this. I guess I'm just sad I didn't love this one like the first. I did like that we get a lot of answers as to what the heck went on in book one. But some things seemed so far fetched, I had trouble believing it all. In conclusion, I just don't freaking know. I'm very in the middle about this one. Like I said before I liked some things and others not so much. So, I guess 3 stars it will be from me. Not going to lie though, that cliffhanger ending has made me so damn curious. I don't want to not enjoy it fully the next book but I really want to know what happens next. I really hope the next book comes out real soon.

They were trying to move on with the lives, finally away from their past. However, their future was in jeopardy when new revelations were unearthed. Secrets and lies from the past accumulated threatening to blow over everything they ever believed in. Let me start with saying I absolutely adored Nine Minutes. At the end of the book, I was so excited with the possibilities especially with Grunt’s role in the turn of events from book 1. Unfortunately, Out Of Time basically made me run out of patience because it turned into completely different direction. The stories were told in three different timeline – the present and two different timelines in the past. And there were also flashbacks in each timeline. Confused? You might be if you don’t pay attention when reading. I love that the past timelines told the stories of the three main character’s pasts, but the flashbacks within the timeline could have been handle more seamlessly. “Answer me. You think you can just take whatever you want?” He looked over at her and smiled. “I took you, Kitten.” I love the story of Grizz past. I love learning his trials and tribulations of having to grow up too fast. We got to learn how Grizz became the man he was – by jumping and using every opportunity that fell in front of him. I admired his ambition and determination even if it wasn’t morally/socially acceptable. He would graduate college. He would make something of himself and be able to offer her a life away from this band of criminals. It would just take some time. Grunt was my favorite in book 1 and he still in my favorite now. We got to learn his time with Grizz from the moment he arrived at the motel. He had his own set of ambitions and we got to see how achieved them. “I have never made a significant or important choice for myself. Not ever.” I liked Ginny, but I felt less connected with her this time around. She was the one who was affected the most by the two men’s past actions/decisions, but I just couldn’t feel for her. While I enjoyed stories of their past, I think there were just too much going on in one book. There was no downtime for readers to sit back and enjoy the ride. It was constantly one thing after another. Secrets and revelations coming out like an open faucet. There were too many characters and too many information being leaked, I had hard time keeping up. By the time I finish the book, my brain was fried and I already forgotten a bunch of the details. I usually prefer third person POV, but in this case, with the amount of characters and events going on, I got confused a few times with whose story was being told at the moment. What I love about the story is how even through lies and manipulations, whatever both Grizz and Grunt did all stemmed from love to the person they cared about. “That was the day, Tommy. The day I eavesdropped on you telling Mimi that story.” One of my favorite scenes was when Grunt asked Ginny at what point she fell in love with him. It was such a sweet story and about the only time I actually felt something in the book. Like I mentioned before, I love learning about the characters past, but I am not happy with the direction it’s heading in the future. There were things that happened that was just… too much, like it’s veering towards a certain sub-genre that’s really not my thing. And the final chapter really made me worried with the development of future relationships – potentially ruining everything that was good about the first two books. Despite everything, I am still looking forward to the third (and hopefully final) book. For more reviews/reveals/giveaways visit:

The story picks up right where NM ended. Now,I obviously knew it was going to be told in the past/present but what I hadn't anticipated was the way it jumped around.I'm not joking at times my head literally hurt reading this. There was just so much information to take in.I found myself having to go back and re read parts in case I missed something vitally important. The other thing I struggled with was remembering/ re connecting with some characters.( If you've got time I would strongly suggest reading NM again so the characters are fresh in your mind) What I did enjoy was learning about the young lives of Grizz and Grunt and how they were connected and became part of the MC. I especially loved young Grunt. And poor Grizz,he certainly suffered and had to fight in his young life Now,Ginny...I loved her in NM and I still loved young Ginny here but couldn't really connect to the older Ginny in this one. It took me about 4 days to read this ( for me that's a long time ) and,at times it was a struggle to go back to it.The story,at times was a little far fetched and there was some serious eye rolling going on. You can understand how much Grunt loves Ginny but nothing can rival the all consuming love Grizz has for her...he was and still is my favourite. What saved it for me was the last 15%..which I loved!! Overall I have really enjoyed these two books and am looking forward to the conclusion of this story...but my God,2016!!..I really wish I'd waited.....

Good, But Grunt's No Grizz! In this highly anticipated follow-up to 'Nine Minutes', the focus shifts from Kit and Grizz's love story, to Kit and Grunt's love story. That being said, I did enjoy this book. It was long, but revealed many details surrounding the major events in the first book. I was shocked to discover who was behind Kit's brutal rape years earlier. I was also surprised by how deep Grunt's feelings for Kit ran. I did have to pay close attention, because the dates and POVs changed rapidly and often without warning. This definitely wasn't a book that I could've skimmed. I would have been lost, not knowing the decade or character. Since it had been awhile since I'd read 'Nine Minutes', I did have to refresh myself on the identities of some of the supporting characters. This one definitely paved the way for a third book, which I cannot wait to get my hands on. I couldn't care less about the secret society/conspiracy theory, but I am dying to see what Kit's future holds!

Don't get me wrong, there was some good, most especially when the author reflected on Grizz's disturbing journey from child to man, and the events that shaped his personality, and for that matter Grunt's too. What I didn't care for and had me rolling my eyes was...warning major spoilers(view spoiler)[ the conspiracy theory...nuts...just nuts! And the all too convenient way Grizz found Ginny's sister...OMG...just stumbled upon her...who'da thunk?! And the identities just kept coming...how many names can one character have?! Who are these people?? I knew Grizz would still be alive, and in the back of my mind I hoped he would be, but I think the author could have pulled this off with all the added extras! Is Blue going to end up with Jodie, or will Grizz?? (hide spoiler)] .There's more but this is what comes to mind right now. Like I said...crazy! I still don't know what to think. I know many readers are going to love this story and want more, but it makes me wonder if this influence, reader demand and input, is what drove the author to go with this senseless plot and then to make this a 3 book series. Yes, I loved these characters too and wanted to know more, but I never expected this over the top writing from an author who wrote such a brilliant debut book, one in which the writing and the plot was simple, yet amazingly gritty, raw, shocking and fascinating. What was a somewhat conceivable story in Nine Minutes became the absurd in Out of Time. Not sure if this reader is going to purchase a ticket on the next ride, but my curiosity might get the best of me. We'll see. I going to think on this a bit and maybe add a few more thoughts when my brain has settled down.

It took days for me to review this. I wanted to sit and think about what to say...did I like this? Was it captivating? Was it what I was expecting? Was it more? Hard questions to answer because with each passing day I found myself losing bit of the story...and believe me when I say there are a lot of bits! Unfortunately Out of Time took all my time trying to piece together a bunch of elaborate stories, past and present, in hopes to dig deeper into the world of Grizz. So to answer my own questions...did I like this? Not particularly. Was it captivating? yes, but only because if you didn't pay attention, you would be in a shit storm of confusion. Was it what I was expecting? No, I wanted more emotions, more clear answers as to the why's and hows...I wanted a real palpable love story. Was it more? Yes, too much more all while not enough! Confusing? Yes, just like this tale and my head at the conclusion. For me it was a whole lot of "too much" details, names, scenarios and cliché twists. It was not enough of progress I needed from Nine Minutes.

I didn't think it was possible, but Beth Flynn managed to make me actually like Grizz! I really didn't like his character at all in the first book - and that was ok, since I enjoy having an obvious evil nemesis to pit all my hostility toward. But, oh no! Now I actually have empathy for him! In fact, the prologue to this story had me teary eyed. And knowing why he did some of the things that he did ... knowing how much he truly loved Kit ... all adds up to my inevitable like & (maybe) even respec I didn't think it was possible, but Beth Flynn managed to make me actually like Grizz! This book is a giant puzzle. Not one of those puzzles with the giant pieces, either. Nope. This one is full of all those teeny, tiny little pieces that make you dizzy. When you find two parts that go together you just want to rejoice, but then you look at the big picture & realize ... damn! There's all these other pieces! For the longest time I felt like I had a relatively clear picture, except the part in the middle was missing ... I just needed that one piece to bring it all into focus ... to be honest, I'm not sure if that piece actually helped. I definitely feel like I have a much more solid understanding of what's going on ... but there are so many intricacies, nuances & moving parts, I think I may have blinked & missed something. Overall, this is a well written and intriguing story. I would have liked for a bit more of an understanding of Ginny & Tommy's marriage ... I wanted to watch as they fell in love ... but that's not really what this story is about ... but what you do get is a wonderful unraveling of a very compelling mystery ... and the promise of more to come! *An ARC of this book was provided to me in exchange for this honest review*
