An outstanding book that stands out from others. The short prequel starts off edgy and never stops. Madeleine learns a lot about herself after being taken. You will be on the edge of your seat the whole time. A must read.

Truth or Death is an Occult Fantasy. A first for me and not one of my favorite genres as I found out. Madeline is ‘other’ and has been living in the human world until she is kidnapped in the middle of the night. I had a hard time keeping my attention on the book which is not how I usually am with Ms. Roethle’s books; usually I can’t put the book down but this one just didn’t grab my attention and keep it. Thinking back on it there’s quite a bit that reminds me of what I’ve read and seen about Stock Truth or Death is an Occult Fantasy. A first for me and not one of my favorite genres as I found out. Thinking back on it there’s quite a bit that reminds me of what I’ve read and seen about Stockholm Syndrome where the one who was kidnapped identifies with their captors and will even defend them. This is the start of the Vaettir Series, a prequel novella that comes in around 18,000 words. I will most likely read the next book because I DO want to know what happened to Madeline and how she handles her fledgling crush on one of her Vaettir kidnappers and her intense dislike of one of the others, the books just won’t be high on my priorities list. All in all I would say go for it if you’re looking for a quick read or enjoy Ms. Roethle’s works or Occult Fantasy.

I got this in exchange of an honest review, it was an interesting book to read I liked the elements it had and was surprised in certain chapters as well as the characters themselves

Short Really fast read, but interesting. Not sure where the story is going, but I guess that's the whole point of a cliff hanger. :) Short Really fast read, but interesting. Not sure where the story is going, but I guess that's the whole point of a cliff hanger. :)

Id of given it more but it was only a short book. I have added the next two books to my wish list. I really enjoyed it and read it in less than 1 hour.
