I'm sweating and icky from the summer heat and writing this review while my brain is telling me NOPE while listening to Call of Silence by Gemie while thinking about Liall and Scarlet and I...just...can't. But I'll try. Warning for spoilers of the series up to this point. No spoilers for The Temple Road itself though. A lot happens here in terms of "things" happening (sorry for the wordy sentence). Just as the title suggests, the adventure takes place mostly on the Temple Road while Liall is trying to direct Scarlet towards Ged Fanorl under directions from Ulan. In a way, not much progression is done in the overall main "myth" plot. However, the author does a great job building onto an already rich world with the sights we see on this adventure that it didn't bother me one bit. The Temple Road really shines when it comes to further development between Liall and Scarlet. It's endearing how one's thoughts always tend to orbit around the other; it's a type of dependency that really speaks to the romantic in me. While on the surface, it might not seem like much development (since "I love you" tends to be end game in most romance), what you really see is just how far Liall would really go for his redbird. These actions really show a dichotomy in Liall - the ruthless king to the Rshani, but a tender wolf to Scarlet. In a way, this book is definitely Liall-centric in that sense. And gosh, there were moments that really broke my heart and had me crying some salty man tears. If there was one thing I have to criticize about this book, it would be its proofreading. I normally wouldn't mention it if it were minor mistakes, but I did notice quite a bit of proofreading mistakes that littered the book (which really shocked me, since all the entries prior didn't have this problem). It did jar me out of some moments, but luckily didn't happen during key dialogue or emotional scenes. Overall, I really really love The Temple Road. It was adventurous, romantic, dark and gritty and gave me more insight into Liall. I'm not one to hand out many five star reviews, but it's very rare for many books to push my emotional spectrum as Liall and Scarlet do.

It should not take almost 10 years between books in a series so until this book is given at least a release date, I'm giving it a single star. The review will change depending on if it takes another year, or another large gap like the EIGHT YEARS between books 3 and 4. Damn, this is the first time this year that i read a book in less than 3 days or even in less than a week ;-; i don't recognize myself lol. But honestly, honestly??? this was so good, i was hooked from the start. At first i was a bit lost bc it's been 3 years since the last book, i remembered bits but not all of it but the first chapters themselves explained what was going on so i'm glad for that. As the title says, this book is about Liall, Scarlet, and the army going to the mountains crossing the temple road, it's a slow hella cold journey and there's treachery and secrets to unfold along the way. Poor Scarlet, and Liall...ugh, sometimes i feel his love for Scarlet borders into obsession so part of me is with Alexyin and Jochi, but other part is like "fuck royalty rules!! you go Liall, not let anyone take your t'aishka away from you". I'm torn. And that ending tho...(;´∩`;)゚...not to be annoying, i know good stories take time and whatnot, but i hope the next book doesn't take another 3 years or more _(:3」∠)_

After reading the book I am happy where this continuation is going. I noticed a few background changes but itching too insane. The big one was about Scarlet’s mothers being sisters. I reread the entire series again before starting in on this book so maybe things like that were just me noticing. A few other small things had me checking back to make sure I was remembering it correctly. Overall this is a connecting book. It moves the characters into position for the next part. Thankfully unlike the last book which had like six cliffhangers, this has only a couple, that where not unexpected. Still love this series.

I haven't read this series in a while. It took me a few tries to get back into this world. Once I did, I really enjoyed it! I haven't read this series in a while. It took me a few tries to get back into this world. Once I did, I really enjoyed it!

Another adventuous book! My heart ached for these to wonderful men. But secondly, all the barons want the King to have an heir; that is something Scarlet can not give his king. These two men are destined to be together. they're stronger together and there are many who continue to try and kill the Kings true, forever love - Scarlet. Now if book 6 would come out I could continue on with where the journey is taking them. I do pray that they have their HEA

Man...after so many years...it is here. Finally. I loved this book. I loved the characters. I hated the waiting. But it was worth it (hope i won’t have to wait years for the last one). I had a bit of a problem with all the secrets the Scarlet and Liall kept from each other, but it made sense...fear and love are two great motivators. Well done Kirby Crow. And please, please, pretty please...hurry with the last book.

Loved it! Now I got to do a reread of the series to stave off the anticipation for the next book.

DNF at 60% I just lost interest in this book. It felt so long & I had a hard time following the story because of the millions names of characters/places.
