This is a great mini series. I alway thought the Brand New Day was a big mistake. Not just because it ended Peter Parker and Mary Janes marriage but the seemed to devolved Peter/Spiderman back to his teenaged years in an adult body. This is the story that should have been. Peter & MJ as a family with a daughter. This is important as for character development. I loved Spidy as a kid and through my teen and twenties, but then they go backwards and he is suddenly making all his old mistakes again. O This is a great mini series. I loved Spidy as a kid and through my teen and twenties, but then they go backwards and he is suddenly making all his old mistakes again. On the day the heroes died Peter Parker made a monumental decision. He put his family first before everyone else. There is not a father in the world who would not do the same. He must re-evaluate his power and responsibility mantra, also who, what and how is fights. I like not so friendly neighbourhood fighting style in a not so friendly world. He even has one of his trademark never give up Spidy moments. There is just one thing I did not like about this book. This was Peter is still running around taking pictures and treated like a kid by his co-workers. This is the only thing I would have changed, by this stage he should had a career or something. Aside from this I loved this story. If you are more mature Spiderman fan like me and are dissapointed with the current state of the Spiderverse read this book.

Well maybe it's because Marvel not too subtly pushed this series as it's "most controversial" and maybe because the comic shop held a massive sale, but I finally caved in. Plus, I've always had a thing for Spidey. Turns out Marvel's idea of "controversial" is swimming in what is usually DC's territory. This story definitely holds a lot of promise, but I don't want to gush until I get further in. Let's be honest, Amazing Spider-Man (v3) has done fairly little with the titular character. As big as Spider-Verse was, it was immediately followed by a "it's good to be back in NYC where everything is normal again" that every big event has. I love seeing Peter grow, as a hero and a person, and we've gotten a lot of that since Big Time came out- but fairly little in 2015. I love seeing Peter grow, as a hero and a person, and we've gotten a lot of that since Big Time came out- but fairly little in 2015. Renew Your Vows, isn't starred by our (616) Peter Parker, but its one I wouldn't mind reading more of. In the first issue of this Secret Wars tie-in this zone Peter Parker is still married to his favorite red-head, Mary Jane Watson, and they have an infant daughter in tow. Renew Your Vows is Slott's love letter to the many fans that are still pained by the end of Peter-MJ's relationship during JMS's One More Day arc back in 2007. I'm loving every page of the story, it remains me of simpler Spider-Man days before he began dimension-hopping and was stuck running a laboratory with a questionably gained PHD. It's just poor Peter Parker, giving it all up to be a hero because he has to. Peter is in a relatively small apartment, still working at the Bugle, and struggling to balance the needs of his marriage and alter-ego. This all comes to an end when a being named Regent begins killing heroes in order to absorb their powers. In an attempt to draw out the Avengers the villain releases Manhattan's worst from prison. This leads to not only the end of the Avengers in this zone but also a vengeful Venom, aware of Spider-man's true identity, coming after the Parkers and pledging to kill Peter's daughter and his wife. Killing has always been a Spider-Man no-no, but that's what it takes for Peter to take Venom out of the equation and to protect his family. The greatest sin Spider-man as a character could commit becomes the perfect way to show him transitioning into the man he has to become: just Peter Parker, Spider-Man no more. The issue ends with an older Peter walking down a Midtown street with his daughter, the view acknowledging the zone's new baron: Regent. The issues art is on par with the current ASM run and fit my expectations for what I expect from a Spider-Man issue: great architecture, detailed faces, and natural use of webs and the environment. I cannot wait for more. Who is Regent? Will Peter put the mask back on? Probably. But what makes him do it? What role will his daughter play? Is she aware of his past? I'm ready to dive in to the specifics of what it means to be a Spider-Man family and I need more Renew Your Vows.

This comic introduces an older Peter Parker in a universe where he married MJ and has a daughter. It has a different feel from other Spider-Man comics due to the fact he will do anything to protect his family. It was interesting to see another side and age of Spider-Man and I look forward to continuing the series.

And for five issues, this was really good and hopefully they come out with a book that has all of these comics into one. Plot The plot in this book was so well executed and I liked how altogether it was a collection of comedy, action, and very valuable life lessons. In these books we follow the story of Peter Parker, his wife Mary Jane, and their daughter Annie Parker. In this world a power hungry super villain named Regent takes all of the Avengers super powers and uses them to capture and kill other heroes for their powers. After the tragic deaths of these super heroes, Spider Man decides to hide out with his family in need for their survival. These comics are from the Secret Wars that Marvel is doing and so far from what I’ve read from them has been absolutely phenomenal. The only bummer was that the story has to be 5 issues long. Honestly the people who are in charge for Marvel’s storyline are doing a tremendous job and I encourage them to keep on making these amazing stories.

This was excellent, if not friendly to my old pal Venom. It was also much darker than I anticipated. I'm not complaining, but it was a surprise. This was excellent, if not friendly to my old pal Venom. It was also much darker than I anticipated. I'm not complaining, but it was a surprise.

This 5 issue run was a fantastic alternate reality take on how Peter's life could have gone. I'm glad to have gotten to see it, even if only for such a short run.
