It hasn't gotten a lot of reviews, even though it's super awesome, but so far, the people that have read it, have loved it. On to this review! I first want to say that I absolutely love this title. I don't know about you, but it's just so... beautiful? The protagonist's name is Rain, but if you didn't know that and you saw this title, I'd still pick this book up. It's like rain defying gravity, kind of like Rain (the protagonist) being a 'legend'. Anyway, the content of When Rain Rises is just as cool. It first started off weird, talking about work and not wanting to go to war. Then about his family and how poor they were. Now, that small part in the very beginning of the book was a little boring for me, but once you keep reading, you understand why Sirus put it in there. A few pages after that happens, that's when all of the action stuff comes in. The whole story after that is either fighting, training to fight, or figuring out what's happening (which is just as interesting). This girl comes into the picture, Alyse. And I mean, right off the bat, I like her. She is pretty snooty, but she's loyal. And badass. And tough. And awesome. I totally ship her with Rain. She is another protagonist in this story. Alyse and Rain have to work together in order to figure out all of the mysterious events that always happen around them. At first, Alyse hates him because of her hatred for 'street-born'. But as the story carries on, she starts to hate him less (ahhh yessss). I actually understand how Rain can be annoying. He's arrogant and thinks he's all that. But for some reason, the book was written in a way where he wasn't over-doing it. He was arrogant, yes, but to be honest, he's allowed to be arrogant if he's that good at reading people and situations. He figured basically everything out by himself and sometimes before his own mentor figured it out. But another girl comes in. She's not someone I like so much. Rain might like her because of who beautiful and cool she is, but the way she treats Alyse wasn't right. And yeah, Alyse might not be the friendliest, but you can't just treat Alyse like she's no one. I see some competition for Rain over here ;) And when she was over at Rain's house and his mom walked in? You can't just let her assume that happened! Might be funny, but that's just wrong. Anyway, I don't want to give too much away. You'll have to read the book for all those spoilers ;) On the technical side of it, When Rain Rises is still great! Sirus did a wonderful job writing. His writing style was perfect and there were little to no spelling or grammar mistakes. There was just one thing. I don't know if it was just the format that was sent to me, but the chapters were a little screwed up. It skipped from seven to nine and chapter eight was after fourteen. Fifteen was nonexistent and it skipped to sixteen. Twenty-four was nonexistent. This didn't really confuse me. Aside from chapter eight being moved down into somewhere later on in the book, the story flowed smoothly. I didn't realize the chapters where weird until I had to look at my table of contents on my phone after reading chapter eight and realized something was weird. So since the overall story still flowed, I didn't take off too many points for the format. I would actually give this book a 5/5 stars. It filled my days with so much adventure, cool technology, and badass fighters. Again, if you like that kind of stuff while you're reading, go and pick this book up! It needs more recognition than it currently has!

*I received this book for free from the author in exchange for an honest review* Actual rating: 4.5/5 stars (Just to start off I need to say that this cover is GORGEOUS!!! Props to whoever came up with this and it matches the colors of my blog.) Now on to my actual review..... Props to whoever came up with this and it matches the colors of my blog.) Now on to my actual review..... This book follows Rain (I know the CUTEST name ever) an impoverished young man who has amnesia, has a great sense of humor, and is confident that he will be a legend some day. The book takes place in a post apocalyptic society that is protected by walls all around. The book shows us through Rain's journey as he finds out about a secretive group known as The Vivian that is all about doing good on the streets of this city. I can summarize this whole book in one word.... BADASS (If you read the book you will understand the reference) This book is amazing in a way that it feels familiar to me but it is still extremely unique. Most of my passion for this book comes from the amazing characters that the author has developed. The main character Rain is absolutely hilarious and his sense of humor is a refreshing constant throughout the entire book. His confidence is also extremely charming. The other character that I absolutely loved was Aiden. He is the cunning, clever, and extremely straightforward mentor to Rain. I liked him from the beginning as he is a no fooling around type of guy which provides a perfect contrast in comparison to Rain. Rain's partner is Alyse and honestly I didn't really like her much. She just seemed super bratty. However, I did end up liking how much her character develops within the book, I can stand her but I prefer Bianca (the other female protagonist) over Alyse. (Plus I am not sure how to say Alyse//Someone help me!). If you like action this book definitely delivers some great action. I loved the detail that the character uses when describing the fight scenes. It feels like your sitting in the front row of a boxing match and I'm screaming, "Yeah get him Rain!". You might be saying to yourself... "Well Iman if you liked it so much where'd the other half star go?", and I can answer that. The e-book I received was a little wonky in the way the chapters were arranged. Some chapters were missing, others were moved around. I don't really pay attention to chapter numbers while reading because I am so into the story so I completely missed a chapter and then all of a sudden I got the missing chapter like five chapters later. I was actually thinking that part of the story was missing because Rain actually has more amnesia and the author was just absolutely brilliant in showing that. Oops. (But its a REALLY good idea... Credit to Iman) My other small problem is only because I loved the book so much. I WISH THERE WAS MORE. I NEED to know about Rain's amnesia and his past. We didn't really get any answers about that in this book but this is a series so I hope that we can find out in the next book. WARNING: Cliffhanger ending. So basically I needed the sequel yesterday. - <3 Iman Check out my blog: minoaminutes.blogspot.com Find me on Goodreads @ Iman Oza Contact Me: [email protected] Check out the author: https://sirushunt.wordpress.com/ Check out this book: http://www.amazon.com/When-Rain-Rises...

I think that this was a really great book with a lot of the adventure thrilling life of a spy and the friendships within. Rain was my favorite and I loved his charismatic and humorous personality which could also prove to be a bit dense and sarcastic especially towards girls......This book also shows the concepts of social divisions and the evil lives of gangs and the perfect mix between modern and a bit of old life. This also shows the importance and our dependence on the people around us and t I think that this was a really great book with a lot of the adventure thrilling life of a spy and the friendships within.
