Sonar in space? Really? I struggled through this science fiction novel in spite of its ridiculous science, terrible editing and lousy dialog, finishing it only to find an extreme cliffhanger. It does have an interesting plot, but that doesn't save it from its flaws. Submarines use sonar (analyzing reflections of sound waves) for underwater sensing, and they "run silent" to avoid being detected by enemies. Sound requires a medium to travel through, which is not present in space. In this book, space Sonar in space? Really? In this book, space ships use sonar to detect enemies, and ships' companies are ordered to keep their voices down to avoid detection by other ships. This is probably the worst scientific blunder I've ever encountered in science fiction. Christians may appreciate it that the highly advanced good-guy aliens are creationists.
