Simple and efficient. This is how I design, as a developer, and the style of my favorite books. This book takes a rather zen-like teaching style by helping you comprehend the main idea through a short story (parable). Similar to Jesus' teachings in a way. The book facilitates mental growth via these points: -Taking responsibility for the world around you -Living in the moment, and cutting out the past (weight that's been holding you down) -Delving deeper into yourself and asking Why? ...these are just some of the main concepts covered. What is most impressive is that the author covers these topics in such a subtle manner, that many people might read this book and only see the fiction story visible on the surface. This is a deep book with plenty of contemplation to follow, afterwards.

'Wisdom' is an under used word in toady's /english, for some reason. It wasn't always that way. Wisdom is attained through aging but not everyone as they get older attains it. that is because, we don't always learn from life lessons that we have experienced through business and personal relationships, plus our own contentment. Dr. Stone delves into this path extensively and gives a bit different take. For example, while attainment is what I thought is gained through getting wiser, while important, 'Wisdom' is an under used word in toady's /english, for some reason. It wasn't always that way. The book is told in parable/story form making it a refreshing change form the standard non fiction book.

The ONLY reason I'm giving this a 4-Star review is that I wish Dr. Stone had added more to the end. The work really starts at the end of the story and this cries out for a summary or a workbook. Otherwise, I found it to be a compelling read and a refreshing presentation of timeless and modern principles for creating a better business and a better world.
