Concrete Evidence A year ago she lost everything. Now she wants revenge… Accused of stealing artifacts from a five-hundred-year-old shipwreck, underwater archaeologist Erica Kesling is determined to clear her name. She’s concealed her past and taken a job certain to give her access to the buyer of the missing antiquities. She's finally closing in on her goal when she's distracted by a sexy, charismatic intern who makes her want something other than revenge. But Lee Scott is no intern. He's looking for the lead conspirator in an international artifact smuggling scheme, and Erica is his prime suspect. He’ll do whatever it takes to win her trust and get her to reveal her secrets, even seduce her. As Erica and Lee struggle to conceal their real agendas, the one thing they can’t hide is the attraction that burns hot between them. When Erica’s quest puts her life in jeopardy, Lee must choose between old loyalties and a woman he never expected to fall for. Body of Evidence And she thought facing a firing squad was bad… When archaeologist Mara Garrett traveled to North Korea to retrieve the remains of GIs lost in combat, she never imagined she’d be arrested, convicted of spying, and sentenced to death. Her only hope is Curt Dominick, the powerful, ambitious, and infuriatingly sexy US attorney prosecuting her uncle, a former vice president of the United States. What starts off as a rescue mission quickly morphs into a race across the Pacific. Someone is after Mara, and they’ll risk everything to stop her from reaching Washington DC. With betrayal around every corner, Curt and Mara have little reason to trust each other and every reason to deny the sparks between them that blaze hotter than the Hawaiian sun. Still, desire clashes with loyalty when they discover a conspiracy that threatens not only their lives but the national security of the United States. Withholding Evidence Some secrets are worth dying for… Military historian Trina Sorensen has a nearly impossible task before her: get recalcitrant but tempting former Navy SEAL Keith Hatcher to reveal what happened during a top secret Somalia op five years ago. Recent history isn’t usually her forte, but the navy wants an historian’s perspective and has given her the high security clearance to get the job done. Keith isn't just refusing to tell Trina about the op, he's protecting a national secret that could destroy the lives of those he cares about the most. But not wanting to talk about a covert mission doesn’t mean he isn’t interested in spending time with the sexy historian, and the first time they kiss it’s explosive. When the past comes pounding on Keith’s door, he’ll do anything to keep Trina safe… Anything, that is, except tell her the secret that could get them both killed.

All three books are 5-star reads. Just a fantastic series. CONCRETE EVIDENCE This is my first Rachel Grant book and she is a very intelligent author. I look forward to reading more of her books. I wish her a very long prolific career as she has the master mix for romantic-suspense - romance, hot sex, mystery, suspense and a touch of humor. Great stuff. The book starts with a 60 year old murder that overshadows the characters, and they don't even know anything about it. How this connects to present day events, or doesn't is not a spoiler I'm going to give up. I will only say that it was very intriguing to me how the story wound it's way around it. The plot centers on Erica, a disgraced marine archeologist who wants nothing more than to redeem her reputation and rebuild her life. Enter Lee. He is assigned as her intern, but actually was sent to spy on her and find out who is using Talon & Drake to smuggle artifacts. Lee has an agenda and so does Erica. They both start out using each other which is just fine until someone falls in love, then the lies start to matter. To Erica, who has had her life destroyed by lies, it is a bitter discovery that Lee is lying too. BODY OF EVIDENCE Awesome, fantastic, fast paced, international political intrigue, hot romance-on-the-run. This book could have been ripped from the headlines in its' subject matter. Rachel Grant is a wonderful new author and is a must read for me. Mara Garrett is an archeologist with a group that recovers the remains of American servicemen who have been left behind in war torn countries. It is noble work she has undertaken as a memorial to her grandfather who was one of those men who has not been returned from North Korea after that war. On an expedition to North Korea, on a different serviceman, Mara is separated from her group, captured, imprisoned, tried and convicted as a spy the North Korans. Sentenced to death by firing squad, she is saved by Curt Dominick, a US Attorney and media darling. On the return to Washington D.C. they encounter a plot to kill Mara and can't trust anyone. Raptor (think Blackwater) is after her and Curt must protect her, especially because she has valuable information for his case, national security and because he has fallen in love with her. WITHHOLDING EVIDENCE Some secrets are meant to stay secret. Even in this media mad society, some things are better off not being broadcast to the world, especially when they have to do with military operations. I'm not a fan of the Wikileaks crowd and their obsession with knowing every State secret. I trust my government, for the most part, and believe I am better off not knowing some things. For a novella, this book packs in quite a lot. The romance is beyond hot and the suspense is intense. Trina is a Military Historian who has be tasked with writing a report of a SEAL op that took place in Somalia some five years ago. Her SEAL contact, Keith, refuses to talk to her, even though the Pentagon issued the assignment. It is no help for both of them to be instantly attracted to each other. Someone or some group is pushing for the op to be make public. Keith is determined not to let that happen. Trina is just as determined to do the job assigned to her. Can you say rock and hard place? Things turn really serious when Keith's townhouse is bombed with him and Trina inside. Not they must find the responsible party, before they finish their job.

At 0.99 it's a must for her fan :) I had the same problems I found in Book 4, the first I read. The love story is based on lust, which might be a good beginning, but if it's the only piece of a puzzle, it's never enough. Book one: pride is a sin, I know. But after all the lies and manipulations he forced on the heroine (including choosing his career on her life and then at the end still not believing her),a good dose of pride on her part should have been a must. Book two. Just one wotd: therapist. At 0.99 it's a must for her fan :) I had the same problems I found in Book 4, the first I read. And again, after all the manipulation, and the last one was pretty heavy handed, you extricate yourself from the mess, you don't let him touch you. Novella three: so short that the love story is in fantasyland.

I appreciated Grant's use of archaeologists and historians for her heroines. They are not common professions for heroines in novels and I had no idea of the variety of the work done by historians and archaeologists. I was less appreciative of the tendency of the males to be assholes. Oh, they always, or almost always, had a good reason and they weren't alphaholes, just overbearing, arrogant, and c0ndescending at times. Happily, they are all capable of admitting when they were wrong. Part of my f I appreciated Grant's use of archaeologists and historians for her heroines. Oh, they always, or almost always, had a good reason and they weren't alphaholes, just overbearing, arrogant, and c0ndescending at times. Happily, they are all capable of admitting when they were wrong. Part of my frustration with the heroes probably stemmed from binge-reading the bundle, reading all three stories back-to-back. Taking a break probably would have been a good idea. That didn't stop from leaping into book four when I finished this set. :D While book two would work as a stand alone, number three has characters from the first two stories and would work best if you rad them first. Concrete Evidence: 3 stars. Both leads drove me batty and they were liars and manipulators. They had sort of good reasons under the circumstances but they had a serious failure to communicate and lots of trust issues. The trust issues and lies were forgiven fat too easily, more groveling was needed, especially by the hero Lee. Still, there was heat between them, and they were mostly likable. The mysteries were well done, with lots of red herrings, & twists. Grant pulled me right in and kept me reading and I was ready to dive right into book two. Body of Evidence: 3 stars. The leads were much more likable though Curt could be an ass. Lee from book 1 made an appearance but the book stands alone. It was a little weird reading this while the US and North Korea are so at odds right now as North Korea is an important part of the story. The story was originally published @5 years ago. It was eerily timely and had a particular relevance it wouldn't have had I read it a a different time. Also, there was some hot phone sex, and when they were in different cities, they talked on the phone every night and engaged in fantasy dates. It was a great way to further their relationship, and there was some awesome flirting. The story dragged a bit at times but I enjoyed the conspiracy aspect of it. Witholding Evidence: 3 stars I freaking loved Trina. She was sassy, quick-witted, and had a spine. She could also be impulsive and stupid but not unforgivably so. She held her own with Keith who was a smart-ass and pushed her buttons. She gave as good as she got. There was a lot happening in this short novel and some aspects could have benefited from further development but overall it worked well.

First three books in Evidence series included in this bundle: Concrete Evidence, Body of Evidence, and the short novel Withholding Evidence. I'm giving this bundle 3 but I would probably give the first two books in this bundle more stars if I had read them with some time between readings. The last short novel felt compressed and rushed. That one I would give 2.5 stars to in any circumstance. First, the good: Rachel Grant is great at researching and writing about unusual occupations, which are interesting and not often seen in the romance genre--historians, researchers, scientists--she writes them all really well and I enjoy reading about their jobs as much as I do the romance. Her female protagonists are always fun to read, with great personalities that walk that line between independent and willing to bend for the sake of a relationship. She also has a clear respect for the military and writes about men serving in the military with depth and a wonderful ability to delve into the myriad issues facing service men these days. Emphasis on the men--out of the six books I've read of Grant's only one woman in service has been featured, and she was CIA, not military. BUT-- (here's the bad)--Grant tends to recycle storylines and plot points, which lead to all her books running together. It's almost always a man in the military and a female scientist or researcher of some kind. The bad buy is almost always after the girl, and the military man protects her. In EVERY single book I've read of Grants', the girl falls into the hands of who ever happens to be pursuing her. The last short novel in this bundle, it happens at the very end--I really held out hope that just ONCE the girl wouldn't get kidnapped by the bad guys. No such luck. So as standalones, these are really fun, well-written novels. This is NOT the kind of author, however, that you can binge read. You will quickly tire of the same story over and over. The dicey situations that the female protagonists get themselves into are always original and fun to read about, but the bones of the story don't change from book to book, and that made this bundle hard to enjoy. I bought the second bundle in this series (it was 99 cents how could I say no?!) but I will be sure to give myself a lengthy break between those books, because at the end of the day I really enjoy Rachel Grant's writing, but not all at once.

Oh wow ... impressive to say the least. I did not expect what I found in the books that Rachel Grant wrote. I was incredibly intrigued and wow'd beyond expectation when I found out that these story lines were written with purpose and mimicked true stories with her own fictional takes on them. Once I finished Concrete Evidence, she had me. I got done with the first three and ordered the next three right away. I cannot wait to see the story go on. So darn good. I absolutely loved this boxed book set, it was also priced just a dollar more than paying for just one book. This is a new author for me and I’m really hooked on her writing style. Loved staying on edge plus I really felt the romances. Loved being connected with the characters. Each story is told in his and her points of view with happy ever afters. I highly recommend this book and plan on reading the rest of this series.

History A collection of stories with strong female leads. More action than one would expect when 'they' are historians or archaeologists. Plots are complicated and interesting and very modern and mention many world trouble spots. Very well written. I'll try to read Rachel's other evidence books. 3.5 Stars I finished all three books and generally liked them. They're smart, sexy, suspenseful. Great characters & love interests. And I appreciate the accurate historical baseline for the stories. My only issue is that at times each of the stories seemed monotonous &/or repetitive. I probably won't read these again, but I'll definitely read other books by Rachel Grant. I like her characters and think she has a lot of interesting & intelligent stories to tell. 3.5 Stars I finished all three books and generally liked them. They're smart, sexy, suspenseful.
