This is such an original story line. I enjoyed it as much as #1 and will definitely read #3. Myron is a detective and he sees ghosts. His father was also a detective and Myron find that he needs to pick up where his dad left off trying to find a serial killer. I love that he talks with Elvis. It was great that someone believes him. Myron's family relationships are difficult, full of memories, sad and rewarding....just like ours. I love that he has to accept and learn to live with some of his lives This is such an original story line. I enjoyed it as much as #1 and will definitely read #3. This was a book with every camp PI novel Stroupe rolled into one. Ex cop with a bullet still lodged in his head, walks around looking at ghosts and can't tell them from real people so he's always talking to thin air or looking at someone nobody else can see. He works in a Mickey Spillane type office where he barely makes ends meet. ( Funny that he didn't get the pension that every cup gets when shot in the line of duty, but I digress.) Some hot punk type girl who is way younger than him sees this weirdo and thinks "YEAH that guy is for me!" Even weirder still. Myron has an ex-partner who he's b been crazy about for several years. She was around when he was shot and she ALSO thinks he's a dreamboat. But he can't tell her how ghost secret or ask her out. ( Oh yeah, she's young and got to!) But the pink chick takes him to bed- and suddenly he can't tell her about the ghosts quickly enough. Two gorgeous young babes are both after this strange middle aged guy. Sounds like a story for guys in a full-on midlife crisis needing to hear that this could happen. The"seeing ghosts" issue is the most believable part of this story. That was also poorlyv written without much thought going into why some of these spirits work in the parallel world and some don't. They can see each other but some are native Americans with loin cloths hunting for food amid people dressed in regular clothing serving hot dogs. Hey someone show the hunters the ghost food truck! Do ghosts eat? Do they sleep? Do they scare each other? This author should just bite the bullet and buy a red convertible, frost his hair and cruise the college campus. I'm sure he will get WAY MORE attention than Myron the Ghost Whisperer.

The Ghost Who Said Goodbye: Myron Vale 2 In A Nutshell:The quality of the writing is good, but the story is disappointing. If you like the Jack Reacher type character (love em and leave em), then this is for you. The Plot: The Goodbye Killer, a serial murder from Vale's father's past reappears. The M.O is such that it must be the same person. With the power to kill humans and ghosts, the spirit world is scared as well. Vale takes up where his father left off, but not by choice. The Protagonist: Vale is a keen detective who is funny and forgiving. but he doesn't share his problems. I was excited to get into book two and am sorely disappointed. The story did not hang well. The beautiful blend of fantasy and mystery is missing. Vale's suffers arrested development, old man, young girl. Sex, Sex, Sex. The main female character is weak and insipid. I would have said she is pubescence expect, she is in her twenties. The romance feels artificial and forced. Disappointing but I can see the appeal for those who like hard-boiled genre and blondes. A truly sensational story! Imagine that you're Myron Vale - you see ghosts. These ghosts are the residue of everyone who ever lived. There's no heaven or hell - just eternal live as a ghost. The ghosts can occasionally interact with the living but almost no one can see or hear or smell them. Myron can. Because of this, he's the logical choice to go after the Ghost Reaper -?a supernatural being that not only kills the living but it takes their ghost and seems to kill that too. Still loving the moody main character. This book was interesting and I enjoyed it, especially the introduction of Jak. However, I did find that I ended up with a lot of questions and was disappointed that not all my questions were answered at the end. The final reveal seemed a bit haphazard and thrown together.

Good The books are good but too sad for me. I wasn't going to read the second one but the preview enticed me and even though it was interesting, I found it disappointing how sad. I'm still giving it a good review because it was interesting and I thought it well written. Good The books are good but too sad for me. Great reads So I've finished books 1 & 2....I loved them both. Myron is perfect. The books have some humor which increases my enjoyment. Alesha is awesome, and the chemistry between these two is priceless. Not to big of a fan over Jak. She's kind of annoying. Great reads So I've finished books 1 & 2....I loved them both. Good, Approaching Great but not Quite A very good follow-up to "The Ghost Detective" but about 3/4 of the way through it felt like a movie that uses a chase scene when it's run out of plot. Despite a disappointing ending, a good read. Excellent book! This is a very good book! Parts of it will make you smile or even laugh out loud, other parts will bring tears to your eyes. As always there are lots of twists and turns, yes, a very good read.

Nice continuation of the series. Interesting new characters along with recurring ones from book one. There is one more that I will read now. Not sure if author is finished with this series or just hasn’t released a new one for awhile.

I actually enjoyed this book more than first. I enjoyed the introduction of a few new characters and look forward to reading Book 3. I hope the author continues this book series for these characters. I think he can expand more on characters and abilities as the series evolves.

Lots of excitement in the book as Myron does his best to discover what on EARTH or elsewhere the killer can be. Is it also a ghost? Is it a demon? You'll find out the thrilling and totally unexpected answer if you read the book, and I highly recommend that you do! Get to writing, Scott William Carter! Let's put another Ghost Detective book on the shelf ASAP!

The Myron Vale Ghost Detective books are the only books that I have read by this author, but I will certainly be reading more. His characters are so real (even the ghosts) -- all having both flaws and redeeming qualities.
