Can I give 10 stars ?!!! Wow, this M/M book is amazing !! Chris and Tatum are sizzling in or out of bed. Deep, emotional, wonderful characters, an interesting story on several levels. The men's relationship grows slowly, as Chris learns what real D/s is all about. The super hot, erotic sex scenes are sizzling, but there is so much more to this book! Suspense, compassion, tenderness, deeper tales of the past to explore, and a heroic rescue are all part of the reasons you cannot put this story down. You'll be riveted. An incredible and emotional full length novel that is well written by Ruby MacIntyre. This was my first by this author and I've found yet another favorite writer that I will never hesitate to read. There is respect, love, bonding, happiness, fear, immense caring. I highly recommend this book. E N J O Y !!!

There were some HOT parts, I have to admit and all and all I enjoyed it. I just still can't get my mind wrapped around a five year long boyfriend turning into a ...? What exactly? Crazy person? Over night? And the last part with Tatum's family? That was just plain out unnecessary and totally unrealistic in my opinion. It didn't do Tate's "Powers" in being one of the most bad ass attorneys in town any good either. Read it and see what I mean with that if you will. I’m not even going to comment on the disaster after Oliver got to Ben the first time. Dom....hmmm. Might be still in training there old chap. Maybe if it stopped before that ridiculous part I would have given it more stars. I really liked the characters, except when Ben was acting like a child. And I can’t get my head around the fact that Tate left his lifelong best friend without even worrying about him the way he did? It didn’t sit well with me. Sorry. Enough. It's not a bad read really and it's good enough to make me want to read the next one some time.

3 stars from me.. I enjoyed the storyline but wasn't convinced re the insta-love aspect, both characters declaring love after a few weeks of knowing each other!?.. Tatum was supposed to be this big bad Dom but he was a big softy! to me wasn't a very convincing Dom. Christopher was also all over the place, one minute he's all submissive & the next he's trying to top Tatum..? I know he's going through a lot but still..?! Not a typical type of book I fell in love wih this book so fast that my head is still spinning. The characters in this book show all emotions and they work through issues. I liked that they showed Christopher as a strong submissive and that Tate could step down and earn trust. It was pretty well written overall as far as grammar, spelling and punctuation but the plot was scattered and incomplete. There was not any background on Tatum's family before they go all mafia on Chris. There was also no context for Greg to have suddenly abused Chris so badly. He was eventually described as controlling and mentally abusive but after 5 years without physical abuse, it doesnt make sense to have him suddenly buy cuffs and chains and ball gags. And everything else was too rushed. Things happened too quickly between the MC's after Chris's abuse and rape and when they got together. Some BDSM was explained to Chris but not enough to make their first encounter realistic. And at the end, the sex and then a three way occuring the same day, right after kidnapping and live burial, was absurd. I would read another book by this author hoping for improvement.

At 6% the Greg, Chris' boyfriend, shows up at Chris' first day on the job because Chris wasn't answering his phone. They embraced at Chris' desk and then Greg proceeded to demand Chris have dinner ready later that night since Greg was working late. Turning the MC into a doormat, his boyfriend into a tool, and writing a scene which is so divorced from probability had me questioning the author's premise enough to stop. Not for me apparently. Too much "boy" going on and a completely a unrealistic work situation. Sorry, no lawyer is going to step away from his clients for weeks for his newly hired "sub". What an incredible debut. I loved to read this touching and sexy story, it will hook you the moment you start reading it. The characters are awesome and you feel comfortable with them the instant you meet and get to know them. On the one hand we have Chris. Being insecure and looking for a job, he stumbles into the office of Tatum Steele. On the other hand we have mentioned Tatum Steele, big, strong, handsome and damn sexy lawyer. Both men are drawn to each other the moment they met, but Tatum takes his distance as he gets to know Chris is in a relationship. He hires Chris anyway, for being the most skilled assistant he could ever get and for being a little light in his life. But when Chris one morning gets to work totally beaten up and in terrible pain, Tatum can't hold back and takes care for the handsome man he secretly has a crush on. Can he help Chris to trust again and to explore is inner needs and urges? And will Chris be the one that can Tatum really fall in love with? To see how Tatum helps Chris build up his self-confidence and the trust in himself once more to be who he really is, is awesome and amazing. As Tatum gives himself to Chris this one night, it shook me in excitement and touches me deeply, just amazing. And even when Tatum has to accept Chris new made decisions without being the stubborn caring alpha, it's kind of funny but heart warming, too. They're such an intense and strong couple, it's breath taking. Their feelings are that big and strong, you nearly feel the tension betweem them yourself. And those sexy steamy scenes!! Holy hell, just thinking about the role-play makes me moan myself. But will Tate get over his own past, too, so he can be happily together with his one real love of his life, Chris? When Tates family appears once more, trying to destroy him and his life for just being who he is, his luck being with Chris and even their lifes being in danger. Will Tatum be there in time? The twist at the end was breath taking and awesome! It just sums up the whole story amazingly with a fantasic final. This book really has it all: two sexy lawyers (I nearly forgot to mention Tates hot business-partner Connor), a cute and handsome guy, you have to fall in love with, a lot of sexy and steamy scenes, tension and a lot of thrilling action, that will get you hooked so you can't resist to read the book in one go. Like I said, an incredible debut I realle recommend to you to read! I will surely read Tates and Chris' story again, I just can't get enough of these two. And I am really looking forward to the next book...the end just keeps promising for more to come.

This is a must read!!! I LOVED this book! When I start a book and find myself giggling at something a character said or did right off the bat, I know I am going to enjoy the rest of the story and enjoy it I did. 3 Heart Review by Amber I’m going to start this review by saying this appears to be the first book by this author and holy crap there is so much potential here to be truly amazing as she fine tunes her craft. The writing I found to be solid. For the most part this story flowed well and I was invested in not only the characters but I wanted to know what was going to happen next. So, overall there was solid character building and an in depth plot that I found engaging, for the most part. So all the 3 Heart Review by Amber I’m going to start this review by saying this appears to be the first book by this author and holy crap there is so much potential here to be truly amazing as she fine tunes her craft. The writing I found to be solid. For the most part this story flowed well and I was invested in not only the characters but I wanted to know what was going to happen next. So, overall there was solid character building and an in depth plot that I found engaging, for the most part. So all the components are there for a fantastic book and I know I’m setting this up for a but…and there is a but, unfortunately. Tatum Steele is a successful lawyer who comes from a screwed up, very rich, very successful family. Choosing to sever ties with them he has built his company with his best friend and lives his life how he sees fit. He’s known very early on that his is a Dom and dabbles in the lifestyle on his off time. In need of an assistant he hires Chris Waters upon completion of the first interview. The attraction between these two is immediate and hot but the boners during the interview process were a bit much. The problem is Chris is “madly” in love with his boyfriend of 5 years. As these things tend to happen, one relationship ends as another begins. I really loved Tatum in this story, he was so caring and the epitome of a knight in shining armor BUT the constant usage of “boy” was grating. I also kept finding myself rolling my eyes at some of the different scenarios that were happening. At this point I have to say (Spoiler Warning) so stop reading if you don’t want to know. Example 1, I don’t understand why Chris would go see his ex-boyfriend, who tied him up, beat the crap out of him, and violently raped him, by himself??? That made no sense to me and of course it ended badly. Example 2, there was no Ben follow up? Nobody is investigating his disappearance? Example 3, I also found it hard to believe that Tatum’s sociopath brother would just let Chris get out of the car and do nothing to get him back in it. He just follows him? This is the same brother that is allegedly responsible for the other ex-boyfriends disappearance? Example 4, I struggled with the whole threesome scenario as well. Connor was just in a car accident. A car accident where he had to go to the hospital and left against advisement of doctors and the first thing he wants to do is have a threesome with his best friend and his best friends boyfriend who was also in the car accident and was just rescued from being buried alive???? Huh? Tatum and Chris were all over the place with their feelings, personalities, likes/dislikes, D/s, etc. It wasn’t solid and that was frustrating as well. I know that seems like a lot but these scenarios were dispersed throughout the story so it wasn’t a constant bombardment of unbelievable scenarios but when they did happen I was completely pulled out of the story which drove me nuts. I hope I conveyed that this story wasn’t awful. It was ok and had the potential to be great if it wasn’t for some of the ridiculous circumstances that I just found completely unbelievable. After a few weeks of working, Greg's negative attitude has gotten worse and Chris thinks his relationship with Greg over but he surprises Chris with something Chris has always wanted to try and Greg never wanted to .... bondage. Greg doesn't know the first thing about being a dominate but he sure knows alot about being abusive. Chris can barely move. He won't talk to Connor or Stacey. When Tatum comes in and sees Chris, he can barely hold back his anger over what Greg did. Tatum takes Chris to a 4 star hotel. Has a doctor check him over and stays the week with Chris to take care of him. It's during this time that Tatum see Chris is a true submissive and the Dom in him is beyond thrilled. He explains to Chris what Dom/sub relationships really are about. Their feelings for each other rise to the surface and their relationship begins. As in any good book, this one also has a few twists and turns. There are still a few things that Greg tries to get back at Chris. Tatum's family is dangerous and they almost take from him his most precious possession, Chris. I don't want to

Great start for this author! I've always wanted to read a story that addressed misconceptions about the BDSM lifestyle, and this book does it well. Chris is hesitant to trust again, but Tate does everything he can - from telling to showing - to get Chris to believe his intentions are genuine. Chris and Tate have an obvious connection, and their love blooms quickly. Connor makes for a great sidekick in the story, and I'm looking forward to what comes his way in her next book! Good start I am alwaysca bit sceptical when starting a bdsm book as not everyone gets it right, I was pleased to see this was not the case here. She took the time to establish the dynamic between Chris and Tate, and really develop the relationship. Well written, great characters and storyline, I was taken in from the start and hung on for the ride! Well done!!

I liked most of this book. I really liked the characters - even though Chris was a sub he had a backbone and Tatum had a big.... heart. The only criticism I have was the huge use of the word "boy" to describe Chris. I'd say the same thing if the author used his name a lot. It's just a peeve of mine. I liked most of this book. Ok, there might be potential here, there are some good scenes, but atm the writing is all over the place, MCs are all over the place, timing is horrible, the whole BDSM concept is so off that it makes me itch and the whole development is so unbelievable that I am shaking my head at the book...skimmed from 45% on...

This book truly did not work for me. I found it too difficult (impossible?) to connect to either the characters of the plot. The writing itself *is* good--but the pacing and plot left a lot to be desired, particularly the end-of-the-book "plot twist" (it isn't really a plot twist, but I'm not sure what else to call that thing that comes almost-but-not-quite out of left field that makes little to no sense at all.) Chris goes to an interview as an Assistant in a law office working for Tatum Steele. Although he is over qualified for the job, Tatum takes him on. That evening Chris is badly abused by his boyfriend and goes to work the next day injured. Tatum is a Dom and immediately takes care of Chris. This was a debut novel for the author. It takes Chris on a journey of BDSM and into a caring relationship with Tatum. Eh Unfortunately the pace of this book was too fast for you to get a true understanding of the characters as well as connect with them. It had the potential to be a really great read, but geez before you're settled into one line of the story it jumps to something else without completion. An the intimate scenes were...lacking. Too much emotion in some parts then seriously lacking in other portions. I wouldn't buy this again. Wow. I have not read anything like this before. It was a different kinda book for me but of you want to read a book that is really dirty, hot, nasty and sexy. .. then this is the one.. the main characters are awesome. Charo

Good The story is good. A little rough in the delivery. I like the characters, but there was some very unbelievable eye rolling moments. It's fiction. I will be reading Conners story. The usage of the endearing term "boy" - which I really like if used correctly - was just too inflationary. DNF The usage of the endearing term "boy" - which I really like if used correctly - was just too inflationary. DNF

This book didn't work for me at all. I disliked Chris very much. It's seldom that I disliked a MC so much. See all those 1 and 2* reviews, they summed up pretty well.
