3 1/2 stars To be honest, though, it wasn’t just Alicia’s drunken antics that caused me to stumble: it was the sudden vision I had of a Norse god holding my bright blue fishbowl drink, a devilish smile in his eyes. This novella was a quick, easy read with likeable characters, some definite spice and it's share of humor as well. The heroine, Samantha, meets a gorgeous guy called 'Boon' while vacationing/partying in Las Vegas with her two best friends (to celebrate the end of high school and bond/hang out before starting college) and wants more. I couldn’t believe I was actually thinking about giving up my virginity to someone I just met, but that’s how crazy that kiss left me feeling. It was like Sleeping Beauty being woken up by her Prince Charming. Except my Prince Charming was covered in tattoos and bad news. She has no idea what she's really getting herself into. “Um…I just…I liked…I don’t…I mean…I’m not…” I said, starting a hundred sentences but not finishing a single one. I stopped trying, then, and simply stared at him, hopelessly. God, he’s so f*cking handsome, I thought, my only coherent thought. He was grinning at me, his face boyish and yet still mature, as though he had lived too much too young. And neither do we. "I mean, if it were me, I’d see him again. But you’re a little more…I don’t know, serious, Sammy. You could get your heart into real trouble playing with his kind of fire.” I nodded, listening to them both and thinking about how right they were. And yet… At least not until that crazy ending (view spoiler)[ with her outraged father and a gun.... say what?! (hide spoiler)] And that sudden cliff hanger. I'm not a huge lover of cliff hangers, especially when I don't know about them. I'd assumed the trilogy was about the three friends, Samantha, Alicia, and Becky, with each of them getting their own book. But, actually, the trilogy is about Samantha and 'Boon' (whose real name is revealed in the second book) and it sounds like they've got a whole lot of trouble headed their way... Anyways, I intend to read the next book in this series soon to see what happens next. Please note: This novella contains some drinking, weed, gambling, an orgasmic virgin (view spoiler)[ (whose first time only hurts for a wee bit before its the bestest sex ever) (hide spoiler)] , a bit of lust driven foolishness and insta young love/longing. It also has some interesting moments with a hot, tattooed and secretive hero, a few erotic interludes, and two loyal and sometimes hilarious BFF's. Case in point with this excerpt: (view spoiler)[ I tried to be quiet getting back into the hotel room, but it wouldn't have mattered. I walked in the door on my tiptoes, turning to make sure that it didn't make a sound when it closed. When I turned back around, the room suddenly lit up. Alicia and Becky were both awake, both sitting on the couch, both looking at me with eyebrows raised. "Where have you been, young lady?" Becky said, her voice mockingly grown-up. "Oh, hey guys... I uh..." I said, stammering, mind racing. "Do you know what time it is?" "Do you know how long we've been up waiting for you?" "How could you be so irresponsible?" "We're so disappointed in you." "How big is his cock?" That last statement came from Alicia and the moment she blurted it out, we all lost it, laughing and screaming. "Oh my GOD, Samantha, you didn't REALLY, did you?" Alicia finally said, tears streaming down her face. "Tell us EVERY detail, right now," Becky added. "And you better not be too sore for hiking tomorrow!" (hide spoiler)] ;)

Book 1 of 3 and beware it's a cliffhanger. I have to say that although I knew this was a trilogy I didn't realise it was a cliffhanger, I'd assumed because there were 3 books and 3 girls they would have a book each, this is obviously not the case and all 3 books belong to Samantha and Boon. The girls are great, occasionally annoying but in a real kind of way and this was a lighter younger MC read, and apart from the fact that Boon's a member of the Cold Steel MC it's not really an MC book at all, not in the traditional sense anyway. At only 70 pages it's a quick read but since the next two books are out and available on kindle unlimited I'm going to continue on, that and the cliffhanger of course I need to know what happened.

Samantha and her friends leave the bar when the night is over, but she can't stop thinking about Boon. After realizing she has no way to contact him, Samantha sets out to find Boon. Boon has a mysterious past and a situation with his father. He is a yummy bad boy with a dirty mouth. Samantha and her friends eventually leave Las Vegas and Boon behind to return home. This is the first book of three. I recommend this book to anyone who loves sexy bad boy bikers, especially dirty talking and bossy ones.

For me, this was one of those books where I just kinda shrug my shoulder. I didn't like or dislike. It was a little hard for me to get into it. I never really understood Boon or Samantha's motivation/thoughts/feelings, so I never felt invested in them or their story. The book ends on a cliffhanger where I don't know if Boon is a super-creepy stalker, or super-romantic kid... Meh... For me, this was one of those books where I just kinda shrug my shoulder.

I don't care how good of a kid you have - no parent in their right mind would let their kid go to Las Vegas as a graduation gift alone. I simply couldn't get into this book after reading that. This is my first Meg Jackson book. Not sure if I will read the other 2 books in this series. The characters in this story are very immature 18 year olds and not much character development. I had a lot of trouble with the story line. While I understand this is fiction there are so many things about this book that are unsafe and glamorized. I would hope in today's society most 18 year olds wouldn't be so reckless with their bodies and with their lives. As a mother of 2 girls about this age I hope This is my first Meg Jackson book. As a mother of 2 girls about this age I hope I did a better job of preparing them for these types of situations. Once again we are mislead into thinking that this is a stand alone book. This is not the case. This book has a CLIFFHANGER. I assumed that since this is listed as a trilogy and there are 3 girls in the story each book would be about a different girl, nope 3 books in Boon and Samantha's story. Yes I know what they say about assuming but these are listed as novellas all 3 novellas could have been 1 book. I would never tell an author how to write their stories but would really appreciate knowing that there is cliffhanger before I read part 1. I am not sure why the cliffhanger has almost become the norm these days but honestly I don't like them and I tend to stay away from authors who write them and not disclose them in the beginning.

Love those bikers... The author did a good job of introducing the characters. You could almost see the girl's laughing and enjoying themselves on their vacation. They each had a goal and you wondered if they were going to make it. The author described the places very well and did a great job of letting you into the heads of each character. I liked the story it was interesting. I for one would like to know what happens to each character. Give it a read and take a ride on the motorcycle! Love those bikers... Would have given more stars had the book been a full novel Ugh I hate TBC books now... Just write the whole story and put a price you think it's worth instead of book after book. I'm not just saying this to Meg but to all writers! I will buy a novel at price much quicker than spending 3.99 every time on a short story.... Just sayin'... Don't hate...
