I think it was a waste of time to read this! More spike and buffy drama.... Dull

In the second issue of the Love Dares You arc, which is issue twelve of the tenth season, readers find that Buffy and the Scooby gang are still working through some personal issues. Not only are they trying to fix their love lives, but there’s also a new demon around making it ten times harder for them to do so. Readers were also in for surprise when they picked up this issue and saw a familiar name of the cover, Nicholas Brendon. That’s right, Xander himself had a hand in writing this issue of Season Ten. I will give the writers a lot of credit, they tried to fix the problems that were going on in issue eleven. As discussed in my previous review, I found the last issue to be drama overkill. By bringing in the new demon at the end of issue eleven, I had high hopes that they would find the balance the show was so great at creating; a balance between drama and action. I am pleased to say that they fixed it… a least a little bit. It wasn’t an amazing fix but it was a fix all the same. The writers found a solid way to balance both elements of the story and I found myself enjoying it more than I did the last issue of Buffy. Buffy the Vampire is definitely unique in many ways but specifically, the show is unique in the sense of its loyal fans. The fans, including myself, will defend the show and anyone involved with it to the death nine out of ten times. I feel that it’s important to mention and pay attention to something that I think made this issue better than the last and that is having Nicholas Brendon be a writer for the issue. The man played Xander for a good portion of his life. He knows the character and he knows the world better than most and I truly think that helped. That’s experience that even show writers who are writing for the comics now can’t touch. Now I don’t know how involved he actually was in writing the issue and if I ever get the chance to meet him I would definitely want to ask him about it, but I feel that the issue speaks for itself, the proof is in the writing and the entertainment of this issue. I hope he writes more for Buffy in the future!

Dear Nicholas Brendon: Can you join the writing team of the comics on a more permanent basis? I swear that when you're around everyone's voices ring a little more true; their behaviour strikes me as a tad more genuine; and the balance between comedy, butt-kicking, and heartfelt sincerity is calibrated so finely as to rival some of the most fluid BTVS television episodes. Please come back. Often. And the audience. Sincerely, The Flooze P.S. That said, I'm not sure about this latest romantic twist. I have the distinct feeling that someone deserves better. But I do applaud your character's maturity when dishing out advice. P.P.S. Lordee, shit is about to hit the fan, isn't it? I knew things were going too smoothly within this little family...

This season of Buffy is really on point. Thanks, Christos Gage. I really liked the exploration of Buffy and Spike's former relationship, their growth and their potential. Really well done. Not been a Spuffy fan before, but this could change things. The Andrew-Hulk thing was a little odd though. This season of Buffy is really on point. Thanks, Christos Gage. Well things definitely took an interesting turn in this issue. Kind of just waiting to see how this doesn't work out in the end. Well things definitely took an interesting turn in this issue. Kind of just waiting to see how this doesn't work out in the end.
