Really great. I launched into and applied some of the techniques in mid-read. I was actually getting fatigued reading, and the book made me realize I was pushing too hard, and needed to take a break. So I donned my earbuds, put on some white noise, and took a nap under a fan after cooling off with an ice water bath for my feet. I got up later, finished this read (it takes about an hour to read the 48 pages I read on Kindle.) Subsequently-knowing I'm a night owl-I overcome my lazy inertia to begin reading an important book for my teaching job; I read 1/6 of the 300-pager, and am about to go to bed feeling more accomplished. I've read quite a few organizational/self-help books, but I like the way this one gently directs one to break down large tasks into digestible ones--but also adds a descriptive story. Rather than tell you to "Do your most difficult tasks first (UGH!)," it directs you to start off with a list of 6 things you MUST do that day--and to start each day with a 400-calorie breakfast, 1/2 liter of water, and 30 minutes of exercise. I was relieved to see that my daily bowl of oatmeal is about 550 calories, and having to think about this made it more meaningful and validating. I was tiring of doing the "Morning Pages" almost every day of the summer--and was trying to fathom how I would do that once I launch back into a school year (I am a teacher.) I also stopped exercising "cold turkey" after I sustained an injury from overstretching. The book pointed out how NOT doing daily exercise would be MUCH more expensive in the NOT TOO LONG-TERM, so I am thinking more on how to creatively get moving again (with appropriate, non-injuring stretching!) This was exactly what I was looking for. I needed something to JOLT me out of the summer doldrums and laziness--and get me prepared for success in a renewed, vivacious way! The author's pointing out that you "Save 10 minutes on execution, for every minute of planning," only pushed me more to increase my personal development--and that reduced my resistance to attacking the 300-pager that I have already absorbed 17% of, and feeling a modicum of accomplishment behind doing. I know the habit of reading just 10 minutes a day on improving in my craft will mold me into an expert over the years ahead, and mark me for advancement and fulfillment! The interesting thing is, Kindle automatically loaded this book after I finished the previous one--and my first reaction was,"Ugh--this looks like a long, boring piece..!" After the first page (and a vignette covering the "greatest advice" from Bill Gates, Warren Buffet, and a few others), I was HOOKED! Highly recommended!
