I do struggle to keep going with this series as in my opinion it's definitely on the decline. From the beginning I've found both police officers to be pretty useless but it was comical. Rough Justice is the tenth book in the Justice Series. I actually found Rough Justice to be quite different to the others in the series. In this book Lorne and Katy are given a cold case for a missing person. They have to re open the case and go back over old evidence in the hope that they can solve the case and give some much needed answers to the missing persons family. Lorne and Katy get quite a bit of help with this case from Carol, the psychic who is Lorne's friend who also helps run Lorne's Rough Justice is the tenth book in the Justice Series. Through the story and Carol I actually was as concerned for Noelle the missing person as much as the police and the parents were. You could really feel the parents heartache and anxiety with not knowing what had happened to their daughter. I think because it was a cold case the pace in this book was not as fast as the others in the series but I still very much enjoyed it. The author seems to manage to come up with a subject matter that is so different in every book and I think personally this is what makes this series so good and exciting. There are certainly not many crime books that make me cry but I have to admit the ending to Rough Justice had me shedding big fat tears. You will have to read the story for yourself to see if they are tears of joy or sadness.

Rough Justice by MA Comley. Some words that come to mind after reading Rough Justice. Other-worldly. Fun but deadly. (Carol's character brings the fun). A fast read. Spooky. Lorne makes a brilliant protagonist and her family set up feels real. She has a teen daughter, a partner who works as a PI and a psychic neighbour, Carol. She was both relatable and likeable. As for Rough Justice, I feel with the autumnal nights approaching, this would be fab to read on a dark windy night - nothing wrong with ma Rough Justice by MA Comley. There's no denying that I'm a horror/supernatural fan and this overlap of crime and supernatural gave me a real treat. I loved the other-worldly interventions and Carol made a top vessel. As for pace, this was a fast read in which I was clenching my fists and hoping that justice would be served. Rough Justice is number ten in a series. I felt it could easily be read as a standalone. The story is self contained and the small nuggets of backstory that are laced through the book give the reader the little bit of background that is needed.

I have enjoyed the first ten books in this seriI havees very much. The characters' personalities are consistent from boob to book and the plots are light and entertaining. I would recommend this series to anyone who reads mysteries such as James Patterson's Women's Murder Club Series. I have enjoyed the first ten books in this series very much. Poor Henry Lorne still thinks she is top dog and her arrogance is annoying. Katy needs to get on her case and remind her she is a DS, not super hero DI. The past two books have been below par, her previous exuberant manner was entertaining, now she comes across as a know it all - who doesn't. As for Carol's role as a medium, a tad far fetched. When Lorne & Katy both saw Noelle's spirit I just laughed. Oh my word, what a sizzler this book was!! I always know I'm in for a treat when I read one of this author's books but I think she's surpassed all expectations now. The mind boggling effect of having a psychic help solve crimes is something that I've always thought should be put to use and I'm glad that Katy, Lorne and the team were able to solve this crime quickly. I enjoyed this book enormously and look forward to many more. Oh my word, what a sizzler this book was!! A quick enjoyable read A bungled initial investigation of a missing university student who worked as a dancer in a seedy night club to pay tuition and living expenses goes cold but is reopened when it is discovered the original cops were bent. A crack investigative team with a psychic friend helping solve the case with few seances and the victim's spirit assistance thrown in Few twists and turns make for an interesting read. But far fetched I'm really not sure what to say about this book as it just seems to have been far too fetched for my liking. I can't imagine the police sending out all these resources based on a psychic . There seemed to be far less detective work and I don't like the way the relationship between Katy and Lorne is. This book sadly has just spoilt the series for me and I really an not sure about reading any more of the series. Doesn't Disappoint I've now read 10 books of this series and each is more intriguing than the last. I appreciate MAComely telling us about her beloved dog Henry. Definitely a 5 star read. The officials are beginning to see the importance of letting the spirit world help in investigations. Walk worth the reading time. Great for cool fall day . Hope you enjoy it. Will look for her next nook.

Excellent !b So many books depend upon repetitive scenes to fill in the story. I have yet to be bored in the Justice series by MA Comley's use of that practice! Contrived story line. Seances and ghosts solve the crime rather than good old deduction. The principals at time seem like girl guides rather than detectives.

I’ve read all the other books in this series and Rough Justice is one is one of my favorites. Thank goodness Comley keeps releasing books in this series as fast as she does. As always, the book starts off with a crime- this time a young woman goes missing on her way to a friend’s home after being attacked in her apartment. The Met has investigated, but unfortunately, the investigators did not put much effort into finding the victim and the case has gone cold. Six months later the girl’s family still has no answers, but lucky for them the case has landed on Lorne and Katy’s desks and they are set on finding out how the woman and her car could vanish and not be heard from or seen again. Solving this case is not going to be easy, but the detectives have a special helper- Carol and her psychic abilities. As with all of Comley’s books, there is the personal storyline going on in the background too. Lorne’s husband has opened up a PI business and has his first case, and Lorne’s daughter, Charlie, is running the dog shelter and holding down the fort at home while the rest of the family is out solving crimes. I love the interaction between Lorne and Katy and their coworkers, the excitement of the story as it builds and I get to follow along and try to solve the mystery before the author reveals all. This book includes Carol, the psychic, and also has a lot of paranormal going on in the plot, which is a lot of fun. I realize some don’t like that, so if you don’t, this is your warning that it is part of this book. If you’re a thriller/mystery fan, you will love this book. Just a great overall book.

The following day an intruder gets into her flat...after that she just vanishes into thin air. Who was the intruder? What happened to her? Where is she? Six months later, the Met police is still clueless as to her whereabouts. After questioning the woman's distraught parents and workmates, and going through a short list of suspects, the team's investigation proves fruitless. Just wishing to wrap up this case quickly isn't enough without strong leads, so Lorne turns to her last resort - her psychic friend Carol. Will she be able to help them find the missing puzzle pieces? Let's just say that Carol's role in this book is much more significant than usual. In another part of town, Tony has started working on his first Private Investigation case together with his friend Joe Callen. Their investigation into a seemingly normal suspected infidelity case takes a very different direction than the one they had anticipated. Well-written, taut and fast-paced, Rough Justice is another brilliant addition to the series, featuring all the usual characters we've come to know and love so much. While I highly recommend this book, I suggest a box of tissues at hand for the ending.
