Some people just can not eat wheat and some are trying to be gluten free. Scared Wheatless starts with background about the author and then gives numerous recipes using alternatives to wheat and wheat products. The recipes are simple and easy to follow. I won this book as a FirstRead. Scared Wheatless is full of gluten-free recipes to expand your dinner options. This book contains advice for those who don't have much experience cooking, such as how to boil an egg and the best way to cook different types of beans. I would say this book is for those looking for new dinner options but not really for picky eaters or those with food restrictions other than gluten. I would say this book is for those looking for new dinner options but not really for picky eaters or those with food restrictions other than gluten. The author said she would try to provide milk- and soy-free options, but a lot of the recipes still seemed to contain things like Greek yogurt. The book is nicely presented, with a lot of pictures of the food and colored boxes with tips for serving or changing up the recipes. (Example: For the Hoisin Pork with Lettuce Folds, there is a box that says, "Why not try ... serving the pork on a luten-free hamburger bun like a Sloppy Joe? Or servicing over greens with sliced avocado and jasmine rice?")
