Jessie Evans is the Queen of novella's. The. Queen. No one can tell a full length novel packed with emotion, lust, humor, love and sadness into a pint sized book like she can! I have liked Ugly Ross since Leather and Lace. He's sweet and fun and not at all ugly. He fell in love when he was twelve and he never forgot the most interesting girl he'd ever known, Elodie. He has so many memories of that little girl, some good and some bad. Bullies never seemed to leave either one of them alone, giving Jessie Evans is the Queen of novella's. The. Queen. He's sweet and fun and not at all ugly. He fell in love when he was twelve and he never forgot the most interesting girl he'd ever known, Elodie. He has so many memories of that little girl, some good and some bad. Bullies never seemed to leave either one of them alone, giving them their horrible nick names. One day Elodie just rides back into town on her Vespa with the same braids and heart stopping smile. They instantly recognize each other and that same spark and feeling from when they were kids is still there. They skip the pleasantries and go right to spending the day together. And then the next and the next. They don't feel the need to take their time because they have loved each other since they were twelve. But, just when they think they have it all the bullies from their past sneak up on them and try to cause trouble. Can Ross and Elodie fight back against the bully this time? Will they make it out the other side together? Not only is this a wonderful love story about being who you are, but it's a gripping lesson about not letting bullies get their way. If you do, they will just keep coming back. You have to stand up for yourself and believe in yourself, your friends and your family. At the end of the day, that's what makes us all who we are. "I don't care." She lifted one slim shoulder and let it fall. "Whatever it is, the answer s yes. Ride on my scooter, yes. Kidney, yes. Special place in my heart…always." She tasted like a recipe revelation in human form, the perfect, intoxicating combination of flavors designed to drive a man out of his mine with wanting her. "Sorry. I was sleep sexing. It's like sleepwalking, but with more sex in it." "What's that word?" Ross asked softly. "What word?" "The one that means magical, but it starts with a vowel. I think it starts with an E." "Enchanting." She grinned at him. "That's it," Ross said, kissing her forehead. "You're enchanting."

"Because heroes come in all sizes and shapes, love is as real at twelve as it is at fifty-two, and love makes even the most timid hearts brave." Ross Dyer and Elodie Prince have always been there for each other. Even way back when they were kids, they each saw something special in the other, and were there to be the other's safe place. But life, as life will, took Elodie away from Lonesome Point, leaving the both of them with only the memory of a love that had just started to blossom. When life intervenes once again, bringing Elodie back to town some fourteen years later, it's as though the tiny seed never really died, but was just waiting for the perfect moment to bloom. This book may be little, but, oh my goodness, it is like finding an unexpected treasure. Jessie Evans continues to delight me with her stories of regular folks that are not regular at all. Ross and Elodie are so special, having seen that spark in each other that no one else could glimpse. Their feelings for each other allow them to grow, to become stronger and unafraid to stand up to the bullies that made their childhoods miserable, and it is a joy to behold. "Sometimes you have to to take a risk, no matter how slim your chances of success. Some things - like beautiful girls with magical smiles - are worth it." In all of her Lonesome Point, TX, books, Jessie creates an atmosphere of love, of community, of a place and people that take care of their own. I love this series and the characters so much that I sped through Sunny With A Chance of True Love in just a couple of hours, happily revisiting characters from previous books, like Tulsi's daughter Clementine, who is a firecracker, and had me laughing out loud with her snarky comments. And, like all of Jessie's men, I am in love with Ross, who, despite his childhood nickname is the opposite of ugly. His dedication to Elodie, and his willingness to stand his moral ground for her, and for himself, against bullies and thugs, shows that, truly, beauty is as beauty does. As ever, five heartwarming and romantic stars for Ross, Elodie, and Lonesome Point, TX.

EEEK!!! It's time for NOT SO Ugly Ross's story! I have been hoping and begging for this story since I first met the horribly nicknamed Ugly Ross and of course Jessie did not disappoint in Sunny with a Chance of True Love! I still cannot get over the fact that I read this book in one sitting...in just a few short hours! I was literally HOOKED from page one and just couldn't put it down! I didn't even stop to potty or eat...my youngest was napping and my oldest was at school...so I just knew that I w EEEK!!! It's time for NOT SO Ugly Ross's story! I didn't even stop to potty or eat...my youngest was napping and my oldest was at school...so I just knew that I was going to get this book read! From page one, Ross's story is packed full of love, sweetness and the most epic relationship I have ever read about! This may be a novella...but boy does it pack a punch! Ross is not just your typical southern gentleman...he is also a soft hearted man that is scared to let that side of himself show. I have always cringed at his nickname...I mean whose friends actually call them Ugly Ross?? I have always hoped that someday he would stand up for himself and put an end to that horrid name...and well he definitely did! Hearing about sweet Elodie's childhood and how horribly her classmates treated her was tough for sure! I can't get over how much she had to overcome! I couldn't help but giggle at her chosen profession...hehe it's just so gross and awesomely perfect all at the same time! This is one of those books that is so hard to review...not because there is anything wrong with it...but because it is sooooo perfect and I'm worried that I will accidentally ruin it for you! There are just so many wonderful little surprises throughout that will make you giggle, cringe and all out ugly cry! So let me try and sum this up quickly... Sunny with a Chance of True Love is an epic love story that you will not want to miss! Ross and Elodie are MFEO if I've ever seen it! The romance flows perfectly and the relationship, while may seem rushed on some fronts, is absolutely realistic. I HIGHLY recommend that you head on over to Amazon and get your hands on this book!

The only person that really knew her not as Stinky Elodie but as the most interesting girl he knew was Ross. When she left Lonesome Point she was a shy and timid girl but now she was all grown up and so was Ross. After fourteen years of thinking about Elodie and dating woman in town just to get through the lonely days, she was back. And after being apart for so long you would think it would be awkward but no, it was like no time was between them. The feelings were still there but now they are grown up and ready to move forward. When the bullies from their past try to bring them down, will they fight back? I loved this story because it was about friendship, love and also about bullying. Ross is just so sweet and Elodie might look like a fragile girl but she is tough and her job proves it. The great thing about Jessie's novellas is that there is so much story in a fast read. Can't wait for the next book. Quotes: "D-d-don't, Ross," Elodie said softly. "He's not worth it." "But you are." "Animals love me. I'm probably an armadillo whisperer, I just don't know it yet." ~ Clementine. "My lips are at your service, El. Whenever, wherever. You just say the word."

Jessie Evans has definitely attained a place in my heart and is assured of a place on my “must read” list. Sunny with a Chance of True Love tells us a charming and sweet story of Ross and Elodie whose two hearts have been connected ever since they were children. But despite having lived many years apart, neither of their hearts had ever forgotten the others. So when Elodie unexpectedly returns to Lonesome Point, the moment their eyes meet, the spark and reconnection between their souls reignites and fans the flame of love they had always felt. But when a bully from their youth reemerges, will the strength of their love enable them to finally be able to combat the trouble he causes? This novella is a quick read and is an excellent way to spend an hour or two relaxing with a charming love story. Although I may have said this in the past, Jessie Evans continues to capture me with each of her books, whether they be sweet and relaxing or thought-provoking and suspenseful. Sunny with a Chance of True Love will definitely leave you with a satisfied smile on your face and a flutter in your heart.

Ugly Ross was named so as a child as there was another Ross in his classes that as well as being the bully was also better looking than him. But if you get the chance to get to know him, you very quickly realise that the name Ugly Ross does not suit him at all. Yes he was a little awkward as a child, but to be honest most boys go through this, but what sets his apart is his amazing heart. Ross knew from a young age that Elodie held a special place in his heart, and even when she left aged 12, he never forgot the girl he would spend afternoons with. Back in Lonesome point, both find very quickly that, not only have they both grown up, but that Elodie has changed into a wonderful, and beautiful person and that Ross has not changed where it really matters. The special place that each held for each other is still there, and with their maturity, they realise is a very special thing indeed. With the class bully out to get them both again, they are given a chance to stand strong or to fall apart and Ross and Elodie both show what they are made of and to what lengths they will go to for the other. Its a quick read, but it will leave you happy and so glad that Ugly Ross (who really needs a new nickname) gets a happy ever after with the girl that he has always loved.

Ugly Ross. When Jessie announced she was finally gonna give us his story I was so happy because he's been intriguing me since Leather and Lace. I have to say that I was overjoyed by what we got because Ross is anything but ugly! He's the best kind of friend and the best kind of person. When the girl he has never forgotten from the age of twelve returns to Lonesome Point, everything seems to be looking up for Ross Dyer. Elodie Prince rides back into his life on her Vespa and the sparks fly instantly. It seems Elodie has missed Ross just as much as he did her! I loved watching the two of them find their way together; even though his friends worry he's rushing things. The only thing darkening their happily ever after is the bully from their past. I loved this story!! Jessie did a wonderful job as always of weaving a story that is beautiful and impactful all at once. This story was as much about love defying time as it was about the courage to stand up to the mean people of the world who seem to take pleasure in trying to tear others down. Jessie is also the queen when it comes to writing a novella that feels like a full novel. • "because heroes come in all sizes and shapes, love is as real at twelve as it is at fifty-two, and love makes even the most timid hearts brave" • "Now she knew that she and her heart were both a little strange, odd ducks in a world that preferred lightly-seasoned chicken." •"She'd had lovers and boyfriends in the past, but none of them had made her feel as special or understood as one little boy had years ago. And once a heart has been understood- every dark corner seen, every shadow embraced- it's impossible to settle for a softer shade of love."

We get to see a little bit of Reese and Grayson's wedding during the first part of this book, which is great that we get that continuity from Jessie's previous books in the series. As twelve year old kids, Ugly Ross and Elodie were just on the brink of something when she had to leave her home to go and live with her grandmother. We also see the "other" Ross in this book and learn that even though he is a "beautiful" person, his actions do NOT match. Elodie's parents were more into drinking and drugs than taking care of their child and she had to suffer the humiliation and name calling all through elementary school until Ugly Ross started hanging out with her and listening to her scary stories. We learn that true love can happen for kids, even though adults don't want to believe it. Elodie came back to find Ross to see if he was still the love that she thought he was when she was twelve and Ugly Ross has been going from one relationship to another with no connection, until he sees Elodie again. They dive into a relationship really fast, but it goes to show that when you know, you know. I believe they were soul mates, just waiting to get back together. Life is never easy, even when it looks like it is. Everyone has "things" they have to deal with and some insecurities never go away. I am looking forward to reading the next story in the series, to see what this group of people are up to next. Jessie keep on writing, and I will keep on reading her amazing stories. ********** **Complimentary Copy provided by Author for an honest review.**

Of course, he was teased, ridiculed & bullied by the other Ross & his friends. But Ugly Ross also had his own group of friends in Mia, Tulsi & Bubba, and then a “loner” friend in a bullied girl, Elodie. Elodie had a bad home life with alcoholic druggies for parents. Raising a child in a healthy, clean environment was not on their list of things to do in life. Having the water & electricity shut off was a normal occurrence and thus Elodie rarely had clean clothes and rarely showered. The bullies ruthlessly tormented her, nicknaming her Stinky Elodie. But when she was 12, she went to live with her grandmother in the city. Ugly Ross never felt the companionship with anyone else that he did with Elodie. He was always the odd guy out, who marched to the beat of his own drum & didn’t take social cues well. But the day Elodie moved away from Lonesome Point was a day that he lost a piece of himself. Through the years he had girlfriends, but none ever seemed to last more than a few months. With all his friends pairing off, Ugly Ross was beginning to think that it would never happen to him until Elodie walked back into Lonesome Point and into his life. They immediately went straight back to their friendship, then a relationship and quickly fell in love. For me, the novella was too insta-love & cheesey. They last saw each other at the age of 12 and never had any deep and meaningful conversation about what happened, their past, etc. They didn’t even know who the other person was or had become over the last 14 years. I would have liked for it to be a little deeper & more fleshed out, but that’s just me.

Ross is my new favourite! Lonesome Point, Texas is a great place to live but even this lovely town is not immune to the challenges of life. Elodie Prince, small and prone to stuttering as a child, spent her childhood growing up neglected and easily targeted by the bullies at school. United as adults they had a choice – give in or fight! I wait anxiously for each new release by Jessie Evans and this one did not disappoint! This is a love story made more beautiful by the challenges the characters face together. As a child Elodie was neglected by her parents and often came to school dirty and unkempt. She stuttered. Even so young, Ross was tall and felt incredibly awkward. The storyline for Elodie and Ross immediately struck a chord and my heart melted to see bullying portrayed simply yet so eloquently in this sweet, short installment in the Lonesome Point series. I love a world where bullies get their comeuppance, quirky is endearing and kindred spirits is not just a fairy tale. And I will not think of road kill in the same way ever again! I want more of these endearing characters! Bring on the next chapter in Lonesome Point! I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Soon he sees a girl he recognizes as his little friend who is all grown up. These two both still hold each other dear and their love is quick, but unfortunately bullies never change. Just as mean as when they were kids, will these now adults ruin what is meant to be for this couple? This is such a sweet love affair. I love Ross and Elodie! Another amazing story for this Lonesome Point, Texas series by Jessie Evans!

I've been waiting for a story about Ugly Ross since the first chapter of Leather and Lace (Lonesome Point Book 1) and boy was this worth the wait! Ross and Elodie are two people who simply don't fit in. They started out as childhood friends and discovered a blooming love when Elodie has to move away at the age of 12. Now she's back in Lonesome Point and they pick up right where they left off. I will admit I cheered and I cried. So many people avoid any hint of the tougher subject. To make this even better...50% of the first month of profits from SUNNY WITH A CHANCE OF TRUE LOVE will go to PACER’s National Bullying Prevention Center!! So pick up a great read and help a great cause at the same time.

Ugly Ross, finally gets his story, and its with the girl who stole his heart when he was 12! Elodie comes back to Lonesome to see if the boy who was nice to her when they were kids, is a man who is still worth her heart to. The bully from their childhood, is still in Lonesome and is still a douche who likes to bully. It will take these two standing up to their childhood bully, for them to find happiness. I have loved every other book in this series but this one was just hard to read. The story felt rushed and thrown together as an after thought. The characters were not well developed. At least with the other books we were relatively familiar with at least one of the main characters from appearing in the other books but Ross was a character not really developed in any of the other story's. I received a copy in exchange for an honest review. Another fantastic story from Jessie Evans! This one touches on the real-life issue of bullying and it was superbly well-written. Loved getting to know Ross and meeting Elodie. It was great to see them as both kids and adults. The inclusion of Mia and Tulsi, and Clementine, added to the story. Overall, a quick and sweet read. Highly recommend! Five stars!

Another Gem From Lonesome Point This has to be one of the sweetest stories I have ever read. Ross and Elodie were both intriguing characters who came from a childhood of bullying, but built themselves into amazing adults. They were real, raw, strong, and perfect for each other. I loved that they knew what they wanted, recognized what they had, and let no one stand in their way.

I just loved these two characters. I love all started in elementary school. I laughed out several times while reading this one. I loved the message just be yourself, so many of us think we can't, but the is one person out there waiting to love the true you. That's exactly how it is for Ross and Elodie. This book also deals with the topic of bullying which I went through in school myself. I just loved these two characters. I love all started in elementary school.
