Cute night before christmas story featuring Olaf. The cd has narration featuring Olaf's real voice. Very colorful! The absolute only thing I didn't like was that it doesn't have a sound for when it's time to turn the page for younger readers. Still a keeper... Cute night before christmas story featuring Olaf. Everyone's favorite snowman is back! In Olaf's Night Before Christmas by Jessica Julius, the reader is once again reunited with lovable Olaf. The story begins just like the Christmas classic, but by page two there is a twist to the tale. Santa is coming to Arendelle! Elsa and Anna are already fast asleep. Olaf is working hard on counting his sheep. Suddenly, a noise causes him to awaken quick. He cannot believe his icicle eye. It's jolly old St. Nick! You will have to read the story to see how it ends! I absolutely love this book! Julius does an amazing job of changing a time honored Christmas story staple into a modern tale with a Frozen twist. I especially love that the story is told from Olaf's point of view. His innocence is reminiscent of my own childhood Christmas memories. Olga T. Mosqueda's illustrations are whimsical and enchanting. I love that all of Santa's reindeer look like Sven! Additionally, I like how each main character from Frozen has his/her own stocking that is decorated to resemble his/her clothing (or appearance) from the movie. This book will delight readers of all ages and makes the perfect Christmas gift. There is also a CD included in which Olaf himself reads the story. Children can follow along with Olaf and discover the magic of Santa and Christmas together.

Okay, so I know what you’re thinking. Sam again, acting five instead of twenty one. Believe me, I know better than anyone I prefer living as a child than an adult. So I shouldn’t have been surprised when I was given this book for Christmas this year. Part gag gift, the other part that it was a Frozen book, I was looking forward to reading through it, and I have to say, it was adorable. I wish it would have been a bit longer, but it was a very cute, funny story. I absolutely loved the illustrations as well. There was so much detail in the artwork that stood out to me. This may be a new tradition in my household, to read this book on Christmas Eve. Cause just like the old crew from Arendelle said, “doesn’t matter where we are if you’re there with me. Cause when we’re together it’s my favorite place to be.” Merry Christmas, everyone.

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers. To view it, click here. Another new Christmas book for our advent reading this year. This book starts off similar to the famous Christmas story by the similar title, but it changes to fit the narrator (Olaf) and how he might see things for a Frozen Christmas. The story still rhymes, and the story is still simple for small children. The overall content and meaning is much the same. Still, enough has been changed that it doesn't feel like just the same old thing and kids who love Frozen especially get a kick out of it. This is Frozen's version of the classic poem 'Twas the Night Before Christmas, where Olaf takes the place of the spying dad in the original story. It is filled with humor as Olaf wonders about the decorations in the castle, the mysterious stranger and his big bag of presents. When the inevitable encounter with the strange man dressed in red and Olaf occurs, we learn that one of the most valuable Christmas gifts is kindness and friendship. The CD was not included. Kate and I laughed at the last line of the "poem" on the back: It's the night before Christmas, and all through the house not a creature is stirring . . . Another super sweet holiday read, discovered while I was working. I probably shouldn't mention that in so many reviews, 'cause it'll make it sound like I'm not doing my job. I promise I am! I just take short breaks whenever certain books catch my eye, which I swear, only happens about once or twice a shift. I guess I just feel like I need to offer an excuse for adding so many picture books to my "read" list, LOL. So yes, this is adorable. I guess I just feel like I need to offer an excuse for adding so many picture books to my "read" list, LOL. So yes, this is adorable. I will admit, I don't think I've ever actually read the original "Night Before Christmas" story (or is it just a poem?). Sue me, I'm Jewish. I wasn't raised on Christmas stuff. But of course I still know bits and pieces because it's been referenced so many times in media. So, I liked this version of it! The specific elements from the Frozen film, namely the inclusion of Elsa and Anna, were really cute! (view spoiler)[I especially loved Olaf referring to the reindeer as "Svens", because of course that's the only reindeer he knows, and he wouldn't know that the animals are called reindeer! He's adorably clueless like that. And him still being up to see Santa, introducing himself with the classic line, "Hi, I'm Olaf, and I like warm hugs," only to get a hug from the big man in red? ADORABLE!!! I would have squealed at that part, if I hadn't been sat reading it in a quiet library. I absolutely loved it. (hide spoiler)] Part of me does wish I had been able to listen to the read-along CD of the book, but it wasn't really an issue for me. I've heard Josh Gad's voice enough times, I was easily able to conjure it up in my head as I read through the book. (I really hope that doesn't sound creepy.) So, yes, this is an absolutely adorable read. And again, I would almost buy it. Not for future kids of mine, because Frozen will likely be passé by then, but I do have two young 2nd cousins who are big Frozen fans and would probably love this book. (Would it be okay to get them a Christmas book, even though we're all Jews? It is read by a Jew, after all.)

Olaf is probably my favoritest secondary character in all of the Disney kingdom. He is just so cheerful! This is a slightly altered version of The Night Before Christmas with Olaf telling the story and interjecting people of Arendelle, pondering why there are seven Svens flying in the air, why Kristoff suddenly gained a lot of weight, etc. Truly a hilarious little book that I personally feel can be read at any time, because, Olaf. Enough said! By the way, did you know he likes warm hugs?

I got this and one other from my library randomly one night and read them both back to back. Disney and Christmas are both two things that never left my heart since being a child so this book was perfect for me and brought back such memories. I highly recommend this for reader to your child before bed on Christmas Eve.

Excellent It was a wonderful change up to such a classic tale. There was enough twist to keep things interesting, but the overall rhyme was kept so that everyone who enjoyed the original tale would like this one as well. Well done.

So... even as an adult (who's almost 27) I am a lover of all things Frozen. I was browsing through Kindle Unlimited and came across this. I had been looking for a quick, whimsical read and this was just that. Also it was Christmas themed, so it fit right it with the holiday spirit. Normally, I am not a fan of adaptations. Disney did this one well though. A nice blend between Frozen and The Night Before Christmas wasn't to overbearing on the Frozen side and the storyline remained true for the most part. Well done, Disney! Well done!
