2.5 stars This book was mostly interesting, but way longer than it had to be. The author is clearly sympathetic to the perpetrator, and feels she suffers from PTSD and battered wife syndrome, but I'm not sure why. From everything in the book, she's in the minority with that opinion. Paula posed with a gun and a big smile on her face, she told her abusive partner what to do, left him numerous times and gratefully accepted the stolen goods he gave her. From everything in the book, she's in the minority with that opinion. Paula posed with a gun and a big smile on her face, she told her abusive partner what to do, left him numerous times and gratefully accepted the stolen goods he gave her. She appeared to be a willing participant in his crimes. Sure, her boyfriend was a jerk, but it seems like they both were. I feel sorry for their little girl. Like many true crime books, it gets bogged down in endless trial details--at least 100 pages of trial transcripts and recaps, if not more. So unnecessary.

This book was OK. Unfortunately there wasn't a lot about the relationship and instances of abuse of the two main charactors before the bank robbery. This book was OK. I liked the story line, but I think thzt the characters should have developed more.

I still can't believe that this happened. She shouldn't have been put in jail after what in all Chino did to her! I still can't believe that this happened. She shouldn't have been put in jail after what in all Chino did to her!

This was not a very good book. Although the concept behind it was fine, and I normally love reading dramatisations of actual events, this book just wasn't worth the time to read. The narrative jumped from one account to another with no apparent pattern, and a story which should have only taken a few pages to tell ended up taking chapters because each detail had to be retold over and over. After reading only the first few pages I knew what was going to happen, and had no reason to keep reading. It This was not a very good book.
