Batman has one goal at the forefront of his mind - to avenge his parents by bringing justice to Gotham's criminal underworld. In this particular installment, we find Batman rescuing a hostage victim, where the FBI's methods have been ineffective. Batman wonders at one point, how Clark would have gone about the rescue, recalling Super Man's infectious boy scout smile and cheer. But that's not how Batman works. And it's better that way. Some of the subtleties of this comic, such as a villain hiding Batman has one goal at the forefront of his mind - to avenge his parents by bringing justice to Gotham's criminal underworld. Some of the subtleties of this comic, such as a villain hiding in the background of one action-packed panel, effectively carrying the tension and mystery of the circumstances around the kidnapping, and how even Batman's keen intellect may overlook things from time to time. Overall, a fantastic look at Batman in his element.

3.5 stars Don't want to say too much and accidentally put in spoilers. Good storyline for the most part. Brilliant artwork. Nice insight to how some of Batman's criminals feel about him. Saying that..... I agree with what my friend said; very Scooby Doo. I enjoyed it, but in the end I was left with a rather big question mark. Why? Why did any of it start off in the first place. Why? The reasoning for me wasn't all that brilliant. All together an enjoyable read.
