    I'm in the process of making the Blackberry Cobbler, on page 254, from the original hardcover edition. It was purchased on the recommendation of someone in the Edmonds Bookshop in Edmonds, WA. The year was 1988 - I had just moved to the PNW and this book was brand new. I dived headfirst into cooking and reading and learning everything I could about the area. Northwest Bounty was pivotal in my education. Dutch Babies? What do I do with halibut, mussels, razor clams? Who knew there were so many different oysters? With Sharon Kramis' recipes and Schuyler Ingle's biographies, it read like a novel. And I cooked. That copy is now stained and dog-eared, but remains so well loved. I no longer reside in the Seattle area, but every time I cook from these pages, I'm transported back.
