While the various plots in the book were good, they were not in the Cozy Mystery style—seriously lacking in humor.

This is another Kindle freebie for me. I think I have to be a little more careful in choosing these freebies. This was book #7. There were too many characters to keep track of, and only a couple of them were especially likable. There didn't appear to be much of a plot either. Also, Grandstaff preached her own views too much. I couldn't wait to finish this book so I could get onto something better. This is another Kindle freebie for me. I think I have to be a little more careful in choosing these freebies. Claire Fitzpatrick has only been home at Rose Hill for a couple of months and now she has found another body. It also seems her love life is getting complicated, but what does she really want to do with her life. Mayoral candidate Kay Templeton's love life is also improving. An enjoyable romance mystery. More from the busy little burg of Rose Hill. This book, like the last, centers on Claire. With Maggie and Hannah out of town, it is less like the adult version of Nancy Drew. Adult themes are not all about sex, and Pamela Grandstaff brings a lot to this installment. As always, a joy!

Introduction to this series! This is the first book. I have read if the series. My attention to the detail and characters was instantly aroused. I found it difficult to put down as I easily identified with the characters and their trials and tribulations! Strongly recommend this very entertaining series!

The book was well written, but it was hard to read as a standalone book. There were too many people mentioned that had no part in the book, but we're obviously from a prior book. I felt like a newcomer to town with everyone talking about other people, and I had no one to ask about them. The book was well written, but it was hard to read as a standalone book. The love interest for Claire and Kay are featured in this story. The struggles and addictions , lost of loved ones. The characters are many and all are quirky. This was more in depth look at the people living in Rose Hill.

These stories are not traditional mysteries. Family dramas plus a few mysteries and someone always dies, not always murders.

This was excellent! Laurie Purcell is the cop who comes to town to cover the honeymoon of Scott and Maggie. He tries to develop something with Claire, but she is conflicted, especially when Ed's estranged wife shows up pregnant and claiming the baby is Ed's. He's all about the baby, and yet Claire suspects that it isn't his. Diedre, the hoarding wife of Matt Delvecchio, winds up dead in a storage locker where all her hoarded stuff has been collected. Turns out, it was an accident, but it does give Kay some rough moments when her opponent tries a smear campaign, saying Kay is responsible for her being missing. Then Sonny, Matt's brother begins to court Kay, and Matt, her former HS sweetheart is suddenly free... It's almost like a soap opera, but without the cast of Fitzpatricks who have all gone to the beach to horn in on the last week of the honeymooner's vacation. And the ending is a twist you don't see coming...

Rose Hill series #7 is still featuring Claire, who is even more conflicted about what to do with her life now that she´s back in Rose Hill, and which of two men who are pursuing her to encourage. Kay, the former City Secretary, now mayoral candidate is also featured prominently as she tries to keep from being implicated in the former mayors' wrongdoing, and finds herself with a love interest at an age when she´d pretty much given up on the idea. Addiction, to food and to alcohol, also play a par Rose Hill series #7 is still featuring Claire, who is even more conflicted about what to do with her life now that she´s back in Rose Hill, and which of two men who are pursuing her to encourage. I get so engrossed with the people in the story that I feel their happiness and their sadness I hope Pamela will continue to write about the people in Rose Hill. I have read all of the series and know it can go on and on. I didn't think the part where religion was discussed was really necessary to the story but its insight into how death may be as very good. This was my favourite Rose Hill mystery book yet! Claire is a great addition to the great characters in Rose Hill. I could really relate to her and her self hatred. One warning: this book will make you cry. That is all.
