"Tempting Juliana", is another well written and highly entertaining Historical Romance. Dr.James Trevor, is also the Earl of Stafford. He was the 2nd son and never thought to inherit the Title. James owns New Hope Institute. This is a clinic that vaccinates anyone who wants if from Smallpox. This was a very interesting element in the storyline and pretty accurate to the times. James wants to eradicate Smallpox from England. Lady Juliana Chase is the matchmaker sister of the 3 Chase sisters. Juliana decides to match James with her friend Amanda. Amanda has been betroth to Baron Malmsey and older gentlemen she doesn't want to marry. She goes to Juliana for help, The story has so many nice twist and turns that you can't figure out how Juliana and James will come together. Every Characters life has gone Topsy Turvvy with Juliana matchmaking schemes. Needless to say everyone gets a very nice HEA. Lauren Royal understands the Historical period that she writes in and she adds a bit of history in her telling of the story. I love the way she develops her cast of supporting characters in each book. Her stories are well developed and with layers of strong characters you want to get to know better. I Highly Recommend The Regency Chase Family series. Very enjoyable story!!

I was very pleased with the first book in this series, so I quickly collected the second. It was all I expected it to be. Griffin, the older brother of these three wonderful females, had been thrilled when his oldest sister found love, and married. We see Alexandria in short snippets in this book. His attention turns to Juliana, and her first season in London. She is beyond excited, and thrilled when her aunt Frances agrees to sponsor her. This book reminds me of Emma, by Jane Austen, because she constantly tries to arrange people to meet and fall in love. She also has a giving heart, and helps along a neighbor's daughter, a founding home, maiden aunts, a clinic for the poor, and her brother. The book becomes very funny at times, as she struggles to keep her efforts in order. There a quite a few twists, and turns, and past affairs, with children revealed. I loved her heart, and stamina, and good intentions, and of course her wonderful sweets, especially the one that was supposed to bring romantic suggestions to the eater. That part was so funny. The story also brings front and center how little say, one held as a female to a dominant, and demanding parent. I was thrilled by Lord James, and his need to give back to society, and their over looked poor. His fresh ideas concerning, cleaning hands, and not using leeches, and purging was very controversial at the time. I also thought him paying to provide small pox vaccine free to his clinic, and administer them to the forgotten lower class made him even more of a leading man, who deserved Juliana. Their were many mistakes, and false starts, and, stops, but they added fun to the story. I loved his aunt's that suffered more from boredom, than true illness. I also liked that Julianna was able to bring a few older ladies,, over forty back to the marriage, and romance Mart. She had a fun, helpful, and loving spirit, with a keenly intelligence. I am looking forward to book three because this sister has no desire for a long term relationship , before her art. Then there is still Griffen, and Rachael, who seem to care, but have little time for each other. Clean romance, and a great writing duo.

Even James, though he makes her tingle in places she never knew she had, isn't Mr. Right. He's too dark—she likes blond men. And he's too busy—he's a physician absorbed with a clinic that gives smallpox vaccinations all day every day. She wants a fribble man of leisure who'll have lots of time for her. No, not James. It's the Duke of Castleton she wants. He might be a bit stiff (and not in a good way) but he whiles his days away at the gaming table (because THAT's a good thing), and, well, she kinda digs the idea of being "Your Grace." Juliana is a fixer—she fixes things. She fixes people. She fixes people up. Her friend, Amanda, is in a fix. Amanda's father has arranged a marriage for her with a much older gent, and she doesn't love the mutt. Juliana knows what to do—she revamps Amanda so she's a bit more and less And then she fixes Amanda up with James. Amanda's sure to fall in love with a guy who makes a gal's lady bits go all tingly, and if James doesn't fall in love as well, they'll rig it so he's caught in a compromising position with Amanda and has to marry her. Great idea, right? James apparently doesn't know how to court a lady, so Juliana has to coach him. And while she's doing that, that tingly thing is getting pretty hard to ignore. The crisis is a comedy of errors, which almost persuades Juliana not to meddle any more. Almost. The solution to the problem is a bit convenient, but what the hey. A decent middle book in the series, and I still like Royal's attention to historical detail. But because it's another &*%$($)%&^ Regency and the story is entirely about It's getting 3.5 stars.

I couldn't finish this book despite trying hard. I put it down the 1st time & read a different book hoping that it would be better the 2nd time around but after reading a few more chptrs I decided it was a waste of time. Her character totally spoilt the story for me. I found her frivolous - supposedly wanting to marry 'for love' & has rejected many suitors but for physical imperfections mainly. How stupid is 'too dark' or 'his hair is the wrong color'? She's a big busybody in a way that I found unacceptable; meddling in people's love life by forging / making up love letters. When her much put upon brother introduces her to yet another suitor she's all accepting for the reason that he is a Duke. How mercenary is that? The hero I liked. He inherits a title but continues selflessly in providing physician services to the poor - he has a clinic providing smallpox vaccinations. I hated that the heroine was all squeamish too. She can't even sew properly. In fact she doesn't seem to have any worthwhile skills other than knowing how to flirt. So shallow! Giving this whole series a miss. So disappointed.

I really liked this book - it reminded me of Jane Austen's "Emma". Juliana is a compulsive meddler - she has a good heart and just wants to see everyone happy. James is a wonderful hero who doesn't think he will ever fall in love again after losing his beloved wife Anne and their child. Throw in a couple of hypochondriac aunts, a couple of cousins, a little girl with a snake and a wallflower friend trapped in an unwanted betrothal and you have yourself a meddler's dream come true :) Juliana schemes I really liked this book - it reminded me of Jane Austen's "Emma". James was a great hero, he finds himself falling for Juliana and going along with her scheme to be able to spend time with her. I would have liked it better if Juliana had been portrayed as his soul mate rather than his second love - logically I know people can love more than one person, but in a romance book, I want the love of a lifetime - I want soul mates. I don't doubt his love for Juliana - I just wanted it to be more. I am looking forward to reading the final book in the trilogy - I was hoping for more of Griffin and Rachel in this story, but they barely made an appearance so fingers crossed for Griffin and Rachel in the final book!!!

Let me start by saying that I really love this author's writing style. The Chase family women are a really fun, down-to-earth group, and I enjoy their silly recipes and interaction. The hero, James, is so wonderful. He is an amazing blend of humble but not a pushover, sexy but not forceful, and oh so sweet...and best of all...he knows exactly how to manipulate the meddling little Juliana. She doesn't know what's hit her until she's knee deep in the muck. This story has a very satisfying HEA - that is after the couple crosses some pretty steep and rocky roads. So why not five stars? First of all it took a good eight or nine chapters before I really started to feel a connection to the hero / heroine. And then in the last 25% of the book, the storyline was full of drama that just didn't seem necessary to me. It was a bit over-the-top for my taste. Not to mention that I was downright angry for a couple of chapters. But the author brought the story back on track and it did end happily, which is an absolute must for me. This book was entertaining and worth the money and time to read it but it isn't one I'll re-read over and over.

While book two is as spicy as book one, it's otherwise very different. Juliana meets the hero for the first time, and it isn't love at first sight. The hero is a widower, and he's pretty much said he's not going to fall in love again. The duke, on the other hand, has all the requisite qualities that would make a good enough husband, and Juliana doesn't feel like she has a whole lot of time left in the marriage mart. Luckily, the hero thinks with his dick, and manages to up the lust factor between himself and Juliana so much they have to end up together. Well played, hero.

This was a sweet story, and my second read from the Chase Family Series. While some of the behavior of the upper class women in the story was questionable and frankly unbelievable, I still enjoyed the book. Even though her meddling was integral to the story, Juliana - the heroine - got on my nerves with her constant busybody, albeit well-meaning personality. 4.5 stars.

Well-written; female protagonist not my favorite Although I stayed up nearly all night to finish this book in one go, I can’t say it’s my favorite. The male protagonist is wonderfully seductive and good humored. The female protagonist is too much of a meddler, busybody for me to want to spend much time with her. So her character arc is well done, but it was still annoying waiting for her to figure out her heart. There are other characters mentioned, but they are loosely sketched. The setting details are fantastic. There are sufficient plot details dropped along the way for the ending of this book to be satisfying and not too hokey. The editing is excellent so the story is immersive (no distracting errors). I recommend this book to readers who appreciate hand-sewing, match-making, and baking.

Convoluted funny story Juliana has her hands full. Nipple play for days I really enjoyed this book, especially compared to this book in the series. Juliana is a much more enjoyable protagonist than Alexandra. All buttoned up Consistently witty and humourous, there's much to enjoy in this tale of a matchmaker's trials and tribulations. Personally I would have preferred the 'clean' version, but that was my mistake is purchasing this one without realising the other version existed. However it was a simple matter to scroll past any unwanted smut. Each to their own! Nicely plotted with great attention to historical detail, in fact many interesting facts woven throughout. Recommended. All buttoned up Consistently witty and humourous, there's much to enjoy in this tale of a matchmaker's trials and tribulations. Juliana was a person that loved to help people solve problems in their lives! Little did Juliana know that her help for her friend, Amanda, would lead her to the man of her dreams. But the road was not smooth. James was a man that had lost so much and said he would never love again. Fate has a way of making all best laid plans go awry! This is my honest review. Good read, very entertaining!

Not my favorite Lauren Royal book. It was a little slow. It took me nearly 10x the normal amount of time to finish one of her books because I just wasn't that interested in the story. If you've read or seen Emma, you know how this book goes: meddling girl tries her hand at matchmaking, things go awry, then get fixed. Not my favorite Lauren Royal book. It was a little slow. Heartfelt Romance Juliana is a character you can't help but love. She has a big heart and spends her time helping those she cares about. However her meddling sometimes backfires and she has to keep rescheming to. Gachieve positive results. I found this book most charming and look forward to the next book in series. A little convoluted but very enjoyable Good mix of characters. Enjoyed the twists and turns of the plot. Enjoyed the suspense of the sewing circle and whether the goal would be achieved. The many illegitimate children were a little too convoluted for believability, but still a glorious outcome. Just loved it, and bought the next one too

True love waits Sigh...what a wonderful storyline, deeply developed character, believable dilemmas and a nerve-wracking denoument. Loved reading this novel, laughed out loud at the delicious understatements and rejoiced when "plan", "sweets", a snake and "I'll fix it" ran their courses.
