Small snippets of biographical information of Christian scientists starting with Johannes Gutenberg and his printing press. (sadly, the Chinese printing press is not mentioned). The book included the usual scientists like Babbage, Edison, Franklin, Bell and Faraday. What I found intriguing was the overlap of the scientists and how they helped each other. I'm more impressed with Morse living conservatively and using his money to start Sunday schools. What I found intriguing was the overlap of the scientists and how they helped each other. I'm more impressed with Morse living conservatively and using his money to start Sunday schools. Joseph Henry was also self-less, in helping other scientist to further their projects/inventions, sometimes giving them the idea and not taking any credit. I'm glad the book included Jules Kelvin and William Thomson. pg. 54 Thomson stated the second law of thermodynamics: the universe as a whole is becoming more disorganized as other forms of energy change into the random motion of heat energy. The discovery was one of Thomason's key arguments against evolution. According to the second law of thermodynamics, the universe left to itself becomes more disorganized. However, evolution requires that the universe become more organized. He believed that science showed that God created the earth and its life. Science changes and opens up to us when we have an open mind. Babbage was able to get England to move into the present time with postage stamps, because they were still living off the glory of Newton's calculus 100 years later. They became stagnate. It's a good little book. I recommend it.

This is an interesting introduction to some of the most famous inventors of all times. I'd like to read more in-depth books about some of them eventually. The writing is concise and easy to understand: It's somewhat choppy, but still easy to learn from. This is an interesting introduction to some of the most famous inventors of all times.
