More than a million home chefs have devoured Ron Douglas’s ingenious copycat recipes. From desserts to low-calorie and grilled meals, he’s proven how simple and cost-effective it is to prepare mouthwatering restaurant dishes at home. In America’s Most Wanted Recipes Kids’ Menu, he shares the ingredients to more than 100 of the most frequently ordered dishes from the country’s most popular children’s menus: Buca di Beppo’s Cheese Manicotti, PF Chang’s Crispy Honey Chicken, Applebee’s Kids’ Mini Hamburger, Chili’s Cinnamon Apples, Così’s Mississippi Mud Pie, Friendly’s Chicken Quesadillas, Panera Bread’s Mac and Cheese, Uno Chicago Grill’s Safari Nuggets, and much, much more. Face it, we all know the best way to make sure our kids are eating right is to prepare their food at home. Restaurant meals are traditionally high in calories, sodium, and fat. The dishes featured in Kids’ Menu were selected and designed to be served as occasional treats and as a fun way to get the family together in the kitchen, comparing the copycat version against the original. By making these dishes at home, parents will have the opportunity to make them healthier by substituting different ingredients and cooking methods. That’s what Kids’ Menu provides. Also included is a section on children’s nutrition and advice on how to balance the foods they love with ingredients that are good for them. Be the ultimate “sneaky chef.” Prepare the meals your family loves, knowing you’re giving them the nutrition they need. America’s Most Wanted Recipes Kids’ Menu will help you save money (no more drive-thru!) and calories, while you indulge in good food and quality time with the people you love around the dinner table.

Wow! What a great book. I won this book in a free giveaway on Good Reads and I received it in the mail yesterday. The book gives you nutritional and tips for healthy eating for kids. The recipes in the book are awesome. There are quite a few I would like to try for myself. There are quite a few I would like to try for myself. I was trying to win this book for my grandson who is a really picky eater but than I thought they would probably never use it. So I am giving it to my other grandson who is a picky eater but has gotten better at eating after he went through speech therapy. He is 11 year old and loves to cook so I think he will really enjoy these recipes from the various restaurant. Some of my favorites are: Applebee's Cheesy Bread Pizza, the Mini Hamburgers and the Southern Chicken Sliders, Arby's Jr. Bacon Cheddar Melt, Bubba Gump Shrimp Mac & Cheese, California Pizza Kitchen BBQ Chicken Pizza, Chick-Fil-A Fruit Cup, Chili's Cinnamon Apples, Five Guys Bacon Cheeseburger, Panera Bread Chewy Cocolate Chip Cookies and many more. Thanks for the copy of the book. I really love it and can't wait to share it with my grandson.

I received this copy free from Goodreads first reads. This is a great recipe book for parents of picky eaters who like fast food / restaurant food, but want to be able to cook it at home. I like that I can buy organic ingredients / non gmo to use rather than depend on what restaurant is using, and make it much cheaper at home. I found it easy to understand the directions. We tried out the Panera Broccoli Cheddar Soup. I did leave out the thyme, as I don't personally like this spice. Recipe was rel I received this copy free from Goodreads first reads. We tried out the Panera Broccoli Cheddar Soup. I did leave out the thyme, as I don't personally like this spice. Recipe was relatively easy (and I'm really not much of a cook) My son liked it, and I think next time I'll make a double batch to freeze some and see how that turns out. There are a quite a few recipes in here I know I'll be trying in the future, including P.F. Changs chicken fried rice and McDonald's chicken nuggets. The reasons I gave it only 4 stars even though I like it, were 3 things. First, it does seem heavy on the dessert recipes, would rather have seen less of them and more of actual meals. Secondly, it does not include nutritional info on the recipes (though it does have some broad nutritional info at the front of the book). Lastly, I'm a visual person and really like when recipes have photos along with them, this book did not have any internal pics. I realize this is part of what makes this recipe book affordable, but would love maybe a higher end version as well. Overall, worth the price, and most people will find recipes they can easily make and enjoy in here.
