DnF I am too bored with the whole story of abused, demanding, judgemental, needy heroine. The hero also not helpin at all with boosting his ego that he is the real man. I still can live with the characters if only the story have more depth or more complex twist. Dirty Past has nothing for me to like or even make me interested to continue listen. Jist plain recyle story line with undevelop characters. 2 stars

So painful. And what if your past has left you broken? Can you truly forget a past that has you left broken, tainted, and dirty? Dirty Past by Emma Hart was a sexy, emotional, heartbreaking and beautiful journey of love, second chances, and moving on. I loved Dirty Past because it was simply more than a love story but a story of healing, acceptance, and learning that the past doesn't have to taint your future. The past doesn't have to be the dark cloud looming over your head forever. Your past is just a story and only a chapter in your life. And Emma Hart truly captures and delivers this message to her readers. Abuse. Regardless if it's physical or emotional, abuse is something that must not be tolerated. In this delicate and sensitive subject, Emma Hart was able to weave an emotional and heartbreaking story of a young woman learning to escape and free herself of an abusive relationship. For years, Ella Dawson was her fiance's punching bag. And when Ella finally had enough and came to a realization that her fiance could actually kill her, she took the biggest risk. She left her socialite family knowing that her ex comes from a wealthy family and no one would believe that her ex could be abusing her. So when she left her old life behind, she had to start all over and so she took a job to be the PA of Dirty B, a rock band. Tate Burke is pure sex. A womanizer. A man who is no stranger to women flocking to him. So when he meets a woman, who isn't easily charmed by his flirtatious ways, it intrigues him. Like a moth to a flame, Tate was drawn to Ella. There was something about her that he couldn't explain that made him want to protect and claim her. And when Tate finally was able to tear down the walls that Ella built, he made it his mission to protect her at all cost. If there is one thing you must know about Tate Burke is that he protects the ones he love. And Ella Dawson is the woman he loves. So what happens when Ella's past comes barreling back? Will Ella retreat back to her shell? Or will Tate fight his way into her heart and show her that no one can hurt her again? The emotional journey of this book was what captured my heart. This book was so raw and vulnerable that I applaud Ms. Hart for writing a story that dealt with a sensitive subject of abuse. I love that Ms. Hart didn't brush this subject under the rug but she allowed her readers to FEEL. To feel the hurt and the emotional pain that are associated with people who lived and experienced abuse. The writing in the book captures the essences that love heals and second chances at life and love do exist. So if you are looking for a book that was sexy, touching, and had heart then I highly urge you to read Dirty Past by Emma Hart. Not only will this book make you believe in new beginnings but this book will make you fall in love with the sexy rock star, Tate Burke. RATING: 3 "He’s the north to my south, the east to my west." Hearts!! :) Dirty Past is my first book by Emma Hart, and I actually liked it, so it definitely won't be my last by her. Its your typical NA, but its light and fast-paced quality makes it exactly the sort of read to pick up when you don't want to think too much about what you are reading. So, despite it being cliche, it worked for me as I was in the mood for this. Both Tate and Ella are not only likeable characters but are also a cute couple, and I easily enjoyed their cheesy romance. Plus, Tate's a rockstar, and its hard to resist his cocky, protective attitude. It just rubs off on you, in all the best ways. Also, I think Hart did a fairly decent job at handling the issues of abuse in this – not many authors do this well, but in this, it worked. I also really enjoyed the Burke (Dirty B) family, and their determination to protect Ella and loved how they so effortlessly include her as a part of their family. I felt the bond the brothers, Tate, Connor, Ads and Kye, shared with each other, and I'm a sucker for well-done family dynamics, so I loved this aspect. Overall, there are definitely many aspects which I think could have been better handled, like the rushed ending, but this is an okay read for the most part. I think I'll definitely go back and read Connor and Sophie's story, and am also looking forward to seeing which brother falls in love next! Give this a try if you are in the mood for something fun and light! Posted: May 19, 2015

Okay, it had a nice little romance, but again with the alternating POV. Too many of these current romances use this device. I think it's just easier for some of the authors. It's getting a little old. I was going to rate this two stars, but changed my mind and dropped it to one star. The biggie that ruined this for me is not the attraction between Tate and Ella which developed way too fast; her magical vagina that tames the bad boy (I don't think that's too much of a spoiler) the OTT "baby, baby, Okay, it had a nice little romance, but again with the alternating POV. A really bad ex, and one that her parents refuse to see as bad.Now I usually love the bad-ex trope for some reason; however, we have a wussy heroine here and this is how she handles things... Spoiler(view spoiler)[ Ella's horribly abusive fiancee sends her an email that basically threatens her life; he tracks her down then beats her up with witnesses, and she finally confronts her parents about it. What does she do at the end of the book? She gets her lawyer to settle with him so he won't ever contact her again rather than take his sorry self to court. WTF? So bad ex can go off and abuse some other woman? How about you have him prosecuted instead! With all the evidence of bruising, his scary texts and emails, the witnesses, this guy should and could go away for a loooong time. The abrupt, wussy ending totally ruined the book for me. I liked Conner in Dirty Secret but I have to say that Tate Burke is, by far, MY FAVORITE Burke man with his sexy, dirty mouth!! Ella Dawson made a decision that ultimately changed her life, and for that, I love her. She had the strength to live again and not every woman that goes through what she did has that strength or gets a second chance. She may not be aware of it, but taking the job to be the PA for the Burke Boys will absolutely change her life. She may not be aware of it, but taking the job to be the PA for the Burke Boys will absolutely change her life. I don't want to give away anything but my goodness! This story had me on pins and needles. I couldn't tap my tablet fast enough to see what was going to happen. Now, like I said, I FLOVED Tate but what he does to gain Ella's trust, and to show her that She. Is. His, had me swooning and FLOVING him even more. **sighs** Their story is tragic, sad, emotional, passionate, beautiful and amazing!! I can't wait to read the twins' stories next but as of right now, Tate and Ella have my heart completely!! ~ Kara, 5 Fucking Hot stars ~~~ I loved Dirty Secret, and now I love Dirty Past. These Burke boys, I tell you what... Smoking hot, sexy-as-all-get-out, and complete softies when it comes to a cute kid. My ovaries...they never stood a chance. BOOM! Escaping her violent ex by joining the Dirty B tour as a PA was a calculated risk for Ella Dawson, and one she doesn't regret. But spending time with the Burke brothers can be challenging, especially when it comes to the oldest brother, Tate. He's a gorgeous bad boy, a walking wet dream, and damn if he doesn't know it. But beneath his cocky, asshole, playboy demeanor is a good man that Ella can't help but be attracted to. Which is a problem, since he's the boss. And even more of a problem when her ex finds her, determined to bring her home at any cost... Oh, Lordy, these boys! I love them all (Kye is MINE, y'all) and Tate, well...he surprised me. I was a little unsure of him and his somewhat unexplained, antagonistic relationship with Sofie in Dirty Secret. But Emma Hart made it all better, and then some, here. His relationship with Sofie made a lot more sense, and I loved the way their relationship was clearly loving, but a little niggly -- just like siblings (or almost siblings) would be. And I adored him Mila. I mean, come on! Sneaky snacks, loads of playtime, late nights...all the cool uncle stuff, which gave me the grins. And with Ella, his Els, he was perfect. Sure, he started off as a complete douche -- to the point I began to worry if I'd ever be able to warm to him -- but his moments with her, flirty, dirty, tender moments, were ace. It made me love him, and it made me like her. Really like her... Ella was a very interesting character. Her decisions, after all, were the basis for this book. There were a couple of moments when I felt she was being stubborn or silly for the sake of it, but for the most part, I loved her sass with Tate, her banter with the boys and her friendship with Sofie. The very best part of Dirty Secret though, is the band. These brothers are such fun together. Ms. Hart has sketched a very real feeling sibling relationship with these boys, complete with fighting, teasing, mocking and, of course, defending when the going gets tough. I can't wait for the next brother to be brought to his knees by a girl. Maybe my ovaries will have recovered by then... ~ Beth, 4.5 "sars"... Err, that would be stars! ~~~ Oh, how I have missed the Burke brothers, and Sofie and Mila! Conner, Aiden, Kye and Tate are four brothers who love each other through thick and thin—fight their battles, tease the shit out of each other, but love hard and are loyal to a fault. Ella Dawson could use a whole lot of love and loyalty in her life right now. Running from an abusive ex, Ella accepts the position of PA for Dirty B—and all the shenanigans that go with it. Tate Burke is panty-dropping gorgeous, however his surly nature can be somewhat off-putting until someone is able to get under his skin and see the “real” Tate—the sweet, loving, loyal man who melts when a certain little Diva demands cupcakes, McDonalds or curse word payments. Tate takes on responsibility for protecting his family and his employees. And now, Ella is under his protection as well as under his skin. Can Tate drop his macho walls and see beyond Ella’s bravado to the scared, vulnerable woman who just needs someone to stand up for her—believe in her? I FLOVE this family. Tate and Ella are magic on a page. Their back and forth conversations, as well as the banter between Ella, Sofie and the rest of the Burke brothers, shows a realistic family dynamic. I love that Ella and Sofie now have a true friend on the tour. Add in the hijinks of Mila—who REALLY runs the show—and you have a well-rounded, amazingly balanced life story that just so happens to include four REALLY HOT men. By the way, I’m going to need to work out some sort of sharing arrangement—I can’t choose just one brother for my book boyfriend. The only thing missing for me in this book was consequences for some of the decisions made by Ella with regards to her ex; I simply would have liked to see a bit more of a resolution to Ella’s history. ~ Missy, 4.5 stars

Ella Dawson is a runaway bride, jilting her abusive, both mental and physical, ex. Now she is on the run and working for Dirty B. as their PA. Everyone seems cool except Tate the bassist seems that he both attracts her, something that she didn't expect, and also infuriates her, making the sassy girl come alive, something she lost while with her ex. Dirty Past surpassed all those expectations I had and even I would risk to say I enjoyed it more than the first book, leading me to the conclusion that this series just keep getting better and better with each new story. This Burke Brothers story is about Tate and Ella. They are one of those couples that start with a sexual tension between them that leads them to start arguing a lot, for the simple things, and teasing each other to no end. Their relationship felt natural and progressed throughout the whole book making it more real and having the reader invested in the story and their relationship. This new book also has two characters with some problems. Ella is running from an abusive ex-boyfriend who was about to become her husband if she hadn't escaped and we all now that the past always ends up catching us. I'm truly happy to see how it all ended up, however I would have treated the issue differently, like doing what Tate suggested. Is always nice to see a cocky musician who can have every woman she wants to fall for the one not willing to go easy on him. And Tate and Ella's story while being one of those stories is also an enjoyable and memorable read. I highly recommend it to all those readers searching for a New Adult Romance read with musicians in it and a relationship that will make you swoon and laugh at the same time. Dream Cast:

I was hoping to like and enjoy reading Dirty Past. I wasn't expecting to be so impressed with the story and characters. There were still parts I think could've been handled better, but for the most part the book was perfect. Ella and Tate come from different backgrounds, but there's something in Ella that pulls Tate to her. Ella will admit to herself about finding Tate attractive, but there's something in him that reminds her too much of the situation she's just left behind, so she's weary of him I was hoping to like and enjoy reading Dirty Past. I loved seeing big bad Tate, soothe Ella and console her when she needed it. While Tate was instantly attracted to Ella I like how she took her time in letting him in and trusting him. I laughed when every time they'd get a chance to be alone, it was interrupted them, leaving Tate frustrated. I really liked how Emma Hart handled the issues Ella faced for the most part. She really nailed the fear and vulnerability a person who has escaped from that situation feels. While I love that Ella got her groove back and some semblance of justice, I do wish those who hurt her had gotten what was their due. Especially her family. I can't begin to tell you how pissed off at them I was for the things they said and did. I'm glad she had the Dirty B family to support her and give her what she needed to be strong and move on. The story is full of light moments, dark moments, and everything in between. I read this book in what seems like no time at all and couldn't put it down. Having met Mila, Sofie, and Conner, for the first time, I can see I'm going to have to read Dirty Secret, their story. This isn't because I was lost, but because my curiosity was aroused while reading this story. I also can't wait to read which brother/twin falls in love next!

3 Tate & Ella Stars Tate is a very different character to his brother Conner, who was the focus of the first book. Tate is loud, cocky, arrogant, confident and will have sex with pretty much any groupie that throws herself at him. Sometimes more than one at a time. Then he meets Ella , the band's new assistant, who just doesn't take his crap. At all. But , Ella is running from some horrific domestic abuse inflicted by her fiance and a complete lack of support/ disconnect from her family. I gave 3 Stars because I really struggled to like Tate at times and found him to be very juvenile for much of the book. When he finally grew up I thought he was far more likeable. That said, I loved his interactions with little Mila, his niece. Goodbye ovaries...... Ella was ok as a heroine. I thought Emma tackled the subject of domestic abuse very well. Good writing but these two are not my favourite couple.

Stereotypes and no class I hate when authors and screenwriters stereotype southerners as stupid. A drawl isn't synonymous with poor grammar. Stereotypes are form of ignorance. I picked this one because it looked like it was more story than just sex and, being a therapist, I was intrigued by the trauma components of the story. Also, it was one of the few that didn’t have a long ass wait on Libby. So why one star? Is that all because I don’t normally like these novels? First, the sex wasn’t even that great. Not only was it repetitive in nature but it didn’t even give me ideas for my own relationship, unlike some super races young adult novels I’ve read. (I’m looking at you ACOMAF...) For a novel that is specifically written for the erotic nature, it was a let down. Second, can we stahp it already with the abusive romantic relationships? Really, the girl leaves one abusive relationship and ends up in another but this one is ok and healthy because he doesn’t hit her? Um, no! This is not an issue I have with this book in particular but in any book that depicts this kind of nonsense. That’s it really. I don’t have much more to say on this book. If you have recommendations in this genre that might sway me to your side, let me know. Otherwise, peace Erotic Romance, it was a fun, albeit short, ride!

Ella Dawson has lived a glamorous lifestyle. A life many would envy based on what they view. For two years, Ella has served as her fiancé’s personal punching bag. Needing to finally be rid of the toxic man and abusive world, she escapes to become the personal assistant to Dirty B’s flirty bassist. ❝ His eyes blaze at my words. And I know that, inadvertently, I just challenged him. I also know guys like Tate Burke will take a challenge and follow it through. It’s their fire, and I just handed him the fuel to ignite it.❞ Tate Burke is well-known for his womanizing ways. He sings and the females flock toward him and fall at his feet. It’s what he’s used to and what he knows. But that custom comes to a screeching halt when his newest PA would rather yell his name in anger than in pleasure. His sassy PA is a force to be reckoned with and he’s eager to take that challenge if it means being able to stare at her all day. What started off as an urge to challenge and rile her up begins to change into a need much stronger and deeper than anything he’s ever felt before. When Ella’s dangerous past comes for her, he realizes it’s his mission to protect and keep her safe in every way possible. Ella’s ex won’t stop until he has what he thinks is his, and Tate won’t hesitate in setting him straight. ❝ Don’t be afraid, darlin’. I don’t want you to think of a man’s touch and fear his. I want you to think of a man’s touch and crave mine.❞ The first few encounters between Ella and Tate, he came on a bit too strong for my liking and I was nervous to see how Ella would react. I think the response he had towards Ella’s cheeky attitude caused him to one-up his usual behavior and take maybe a tad too far. To a female with Ella’s past, he seemed a bit rough and frightening, so her reactions made sense and I found myself cringing at his movements. Though he scared her beyond belief, there was a feeling deep inside her that knew he wasn’t anything like her ex. I loved the way she handled herself in situations like that, where he brought out that learned fear. She could’ve easily broken down, but instead she stilled herself and allowed the moment to breeze over most of the time. The character development was above par throughout the book. It was lovely to see the transition Tate made from manwhore to protective and love-crazed. While Ella was strong in the beginning—leaving a destructive relationship is something not many women can find the strength to do and she managed to do so—she truly broke out of her shell toward the end and found who she was without any of her negative influences. It was clear how much lighter and brighter she was once everything was put to rest. Ella and Tate’s relationship seemed so natural and effortless despite the bumpy introduction. Jumping from one relationship to another so quickly will usually land an eye roll from me, but in this case, it was just so right. As the book continued it became clear to me that Ella and Tate, as cheesy as it sounds, completed each other. Their relationship was something I never once questioned at any point in the story. ❝ I can remember the punches, the slaps, the beatings, but I can’t remember how they feel. Every time I try to, my skin tingles with the memory of Tate instead.❞ The banter and sexual tension went through the roof in this book! That tension that Ella and Tate held in the beginning really sparked up the story and drove the rest of it into gear. There was a few sex scenes that were told in detail, but in a tasteful manner. Then there were others that weren’t explicitly detailed and simply eluded to the next step. After all, some moments are better left to the imagination. Mixed in among the sexy and emotional, were also moments of humor that really lightened the darker moments the story had to offer. Like usual, Emma Hart gave life to the secondary characters in a way that added to the story, but never overshadowed the main characters. It was great to see that family dynamic that Ella had never been able to witness or be a part of in her life. Emma did an amazing job with such a painfully difficult topic. Dirty Past was a beautiful telling of finding the light in the darkest of places and strength in the weakest of moments. The story itself had such great development and had a mixing of emotions to keep you engaged and on your toes. Highly recommend you pick up Dirty Past and ready yourself for an emotional journey.

I really loved Tate, he was a great character and I even really enjoyed Ella as well. This was a good read all around I would have liked maybe another altercation with her ex but over all good story.

Another good one! Tate was already a favorite of mine, the man-whore ;) And Ella, with her past, was a winner from the start! Really good!

3.5 What I didn't like: 1.I didn't like Sofie. I didn't like her in the last book either (I hated her. Here's a link to my review of that book: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...) but this time, the reason is different. I didn't like that she was suddenly the go-to person for relationship advice and oh-so wise after her major fuck up in her own book. The author was trying too hard to make her seem important and mature. It was so fake, forced and deliberate. The effort was so transparent. Also, I 3.5 What I didn't like: 1.I didn't like Sofie. I didn't like that she was suddenly the go-to person for relationship advice and oh-so wise after her major fuck up in her own book. The author was trying too hard to make her seem important and mature. It was so fake, forced and deliberate. The effort was so transparent. Also, I didnt like her behavior. The blushing and giggling in the beginning and then the I'm-strong-and-everyone-does-what-I-order-them-to-do thing was annoying. You don't have to everyone's boss to be strong. I don't know where Emma Hart got the warped idea of what strength in women entails, but it needs to stop. 2. I didn't like Tate all that much. I know people are swooning over him but he was really horrible in the beginning and I really didn't like him despite the - insufficient - reasons for why he acted the way he did. He got better later on but he was just okay for me. 3. The ex got away without a scratch. I understood her reasons for not taking him to court, but I didn't agree with what she did. How he treating her was wrong and he should have been punished. There are so many girls that suffer from similar treatment and they can't do anything about it. She can. And yet she didn't do anything. It didn't sit well with me. I wanted to see him get what he deserved. 4. The writing got repetitive at times: We all know the writing when the same line is repeated instead of using a colon and making a list. I'm not exlaining right. Here's an example: "I even want him to be here, stealing my damn chips. I want him to eat so many that I have to order a second plate because there isn’t enough left. I want him to eat all the guacamole so I’m mad and have to ask for an extra portion when I call room service and ask for the second plate. I want him to scoop up all the sour cream and put it on “my” side of the plate then force-feed me the sour cream–covered chip. I want him. Just him. This is fine. I don't mind it. I like it, even. But when the writer does it 3 times in 3 pages? That's too much. 5. The overuse of f-bombs: Look, I don't have any problem with swearing when it works, when it fits. But half a dozen f-bombs on every page are just annoying and, quite frankly, say a lot about the quality of writing. Now, the things I did like: 1. Mila: She is the cutest thing ever and every moment with her is so sweet. I just adore her and I love reading about her. 2. I liked how she explained the relationship between the brothers. How it's not all sunshine and rainbows. How they get pissed at each other, even though they love each very much, because they spend so much time together. I liked their relatinship as brothers and how they were all there for each other no matter how much they argued. 3. The plot was good and the book wasn't dragged. I liked the pace. I'm eager to read about Aiden, who's next apparently. I think his book is called 'Dirty Lies'.

It still overshadows their present and their future, especially if the nature of their past is dirty, dark, or destructive. But the past can be thwarted...the past can be kept where it belongs if people are willing to create a new life in the present...something entirely different than what their life was like before. In Dirty Past, Ella Dawson's final act of escaping her past led her to cut ties with her oblivious parents and her asshole fiancé - a man who has abused her throughout their relationship. But even though Ella took the steps to start her life anew, the scars of her past along with the fear, shame, and regret that goes along with them prevent her from truly letting go and consistently showing those around her the woman she is at her core - a sassy fighter - one who gives as good as she gets. But the Ella the band Dirty B meets is quite the contradiction because to most of them, she seems guarded, quiet, and mousy, the one person who brings out Ella's snark right from the start is Tate Burke - a guy whose past is just as dirty as Ella's albeit in a much different way. Tate Burke is a cocky manwhore who's allowed his dick to dictate his lifestyle, dirtying up his past, and although he doesn't show it outwardly, inwardly making him feel ashamed of his sexual antics. Tate's drawn to Ella in a way he's never been to another woman, and it pisses him off because she seems immune to his charms, which is unacceptable to a man who is never the chaser. But the more Tate winds Ella up, the more she unwinds, allowing Tate to break through her walls and give her an even bigger reason to fight back the fear and take back her life, which allows them to dirtier themselves up in other pleasurable ways;) In Dirty Past, Tate proves that there's more to him than the reckless rock star stereotype that's been shadowing him. He's a protector, ensuring that those he loves are taken care of and safe at all costs. I ended up absolutely adoring Tate, even though I wanted to kick his ass at the beginning of the story. Because readers get his point of view, we see his softer side and how Ella's situation tears him up...we also are insiders to Tate's slow realization of what Ella means to him and I love being privy to Tate being knocked on his ass by his feelings for her. Ella's past and even some parts of her present are dark and demeaning. She loses who she is with every punch and kick that Matthew gives her, forcing her to become a shell of the confident and sassy woman she should be. But with Tate and the whole Dirty B crew by her side, Ella has the opportunity to let go of her past and cleanse herself of anything that still holds her back. Emma Hart continues to be one of my top go to writers. She creates amazing characters and story lines - ones that keep my heart racing, my emotions swirling, and my panties in need of changing;) A complimentary copy was provided in exchange for an honest review. 5 poison apples (The Fairest of All Book Reviews)

You know that cliché bad boy rocker….the one who gets in all kinds of media trouble, has way more sex than a porn star, is thrown panties at on stage and is worshiped by girls all over the world….well that is Tate Burke…and I will admit I have drank the kool aid, want a Dirty B tshirt and would love to put him on my top list of fictional rockers that I would love to bed. Yes he is filthy talker who knows he is good at what he is offering and there is something so confident in his swagger that it is a real turn on. Oh Tate Burke….what a sexy bad boy you are! Dirty B is a rock band on tour and Ella Dawson is their new PA. Ella is on the run from a fiancé that was extremely abusive to her and finds her solace and peace amongst this new family of rockers. The attraction between Tate and Ella is pretty instantaneous, but they do not act upon it in a “too soon” type of way; once they do finally find their footing, hold on because these two really heat up the sheets. Again, Tate has the sexual prowess of a porn star and he teaches the very innocent Ella some new tricks. There is a very strong element of abuse in Dirty Past and I think that Emma Hart wrote this subject matter amazingly well. Ella, as strong as she was with the Dirty B boys, still coward in her head and several of her actions towards Tate you could tell were out of fear of him. I don’t mean she feared him because she thought he would hurt her, just fear because she didn’t know how to handle the whirlwind that was Tate Burke. I loved how once he recognized what Ella was going through his protective side kicked in and her safety was his number one priority. Nothing is more tender than seeing a bad boy’s vulnerability shine through his actions towards the woman he loves. And it is this protective side that Ella gets from Tate that is really the catalyst that makes her realize what a healthy relationship looks like. Dirty Past was one of my #XOXperts reads for the month of June. It was my first time reading Emma Hart, and I will say that I really enjoyed her storytelling. Tate and Ella’s love story is book 2 in The Burke Brothers Book and although I didn’t read the first book, I did not feel truly lost ever. Yes, there was some history that I didn’t necessarily get of the band but it didn’t detract from my reading experience. Being a girl from the South, I thought that Emma really nailed the dialect of all the characters. All of the secondary characters were very well developed and getting to know them and where they are going in this series, really piqued my interest. So if you are looking for good rocker story with a bit of angst and suspense, grab The Burke Brothers Books…..you too will fall in love with this band of brothers and the women that they love! 4 1/2 Stars!! I now have a new favorite Burke Brother! I didn't think I could love any of them more than I loved Conner, but I can definitely say I love Tate! Tate has been known as the "bad boy" of the Dirty B's and no one thinks anyone can tie him down for more than one night. When Sofie hires Ella to become the guys new assistant, Ella and Tate's personalities definitely collide. Ella is running from an abusive fiance and from her life in New York, she doesn't want the guys to really know why she agreed to take the job, but Tate is relentless, and even though he definitely pushes her buttons, he begins to find out more about Ella's past. Tate and Ella in the beginning of this story were like oil and water, they just did not mix, but once they both start to let their guards down, the sparks definitely fly between them. Things between these two are definitely not easy. Both are fighting things from their past, and neither one of them trusts easily. Having Sofie and the boys around to help definitely made things a little easier with these two. When Tate takes a protective role over Ella, and doesn't let anyone do anything to harm her, I think that's when I definitely fell hard for him. The way he won't even let his brother's push her buttons.. swooooooon! Ella definitely can stick up for herself though, her sassy attitude towards the boys is hilarious and she had me cracking up at times. Seeing the Ella from the beginning of the book and the Ella at the end of the book is like seeing two different people. She has grown so much in this book and became stronger, and takes no crap from anyone, and I loved this about her. She took something horrible and instead of letting it beat her, she became a strong and confident person! I loved these two characters together, and seeing how strong Ella got throughout this book. Tate and Ella's story is sad, tragic, and full of love and chemistry. This is definitely a book that will take you on a ride, so definitely be prepared to get sucked into an amazing story! Emma Hart does an amazing job of telling Ella and Tate's story and I can't wait for the other Burke Brother's stories!

#TATETIME Oh my word. I. Love. Tate. I'd been desperate for Dirty Past for MONTHS after being introduced to the Dirty B guys back at the end of last year. Finally Tate Burke and all his arseholery ended up on my kindle. I rejoiced. Literally. I challenge someone to find something cuter - and hotter - than a sexy, tattooed asshole loving on a two-year-old girl. You won't find it. Ever. Ella Dawson - from the outside - had a perfect life. A privileged upbringing. A loving family. A doting fiancé. #TATETIME Oh my word. I. Love. Tate. Straight into the arms of the Burke brothers. Straight into the sight of Tate, the eldest Burke. Ella Dawson is the dream I never knew existed. Twists. Turns. Ups. Downs. And insides outs ensue. This book drew me in and spat me back out the other side mourning the loss of these men. Of these sassy women. And of Mila <- yes. She needs ANOTHER special mention! This series is one I devour. One I live. I am in their world when I read one of these books. Emma, you already know I love you, but damn you've got to come up with something PHENOMENAL to top Tate. And I leave you with this. My absolute, most favourite line from this whole sequel. I look at him like he's the north to my south, the east to my west. I look at him like he's the song to my silence. WHERE IS THE SONG TO MY SILENCE?? WHERE IS MY TATE?!

I really enjoyed the first book in this series, Dirty Secret. I was hoping that Emma would be able to deliver the same thrill and engaging read. She sure did with this one! Secrets and pasts always seem to catch up with us, at a time where we are most vulnerable. This story is about Ella and her need to find herself while hiding from her abusive fiance'. Her mistrust and uncertainty is something that intrigues everyone. Tate is the playboy. He will never settle. He is the hit it and quit it man. Out of all the brothers Tate I think takes home the naughty award, “I was too busy staring at your a** as you walked away from me to remember.” He smirks. “For what it’s worth, you have a real effin’ nice a**.” everything Ella does seems to turn this horny man on, "darlin’, you could call me Lord Effa** D***head if you wanted, and it’d probably still be hot.” It's safe to say Tate is a panty man, "this chick should not own a single effing item of clothing. 4 Stars I have to say I enjoyed this book so much more than I did the first. I liked the characters a whole lot more and the storyline was good.
