With each and every book I read by Melody Anne from the Unexpected Heroes series I fall I little more in love with the town and the people of Sterling, Montana. The scene she has set and the development of everything as a whole that she puts into each installment released, just adds further color and depth to the series as a whole. Taylor and Travis have been edging around each other for years, being one of her older brother’s best-friends; Travis has always treated her as more of a little sister than potential bed partner. That changes one night six years previous, but things don’t go exactly as Taylor was hoping once the alcohol wears off and the morning comes round. ”I wanted you once, I asked for you.” Back in town after a horrific motocross accident almost takes her life, Taylor retreats to her brothers secluded cabin, having only seen Travis twice in the intervening years, finding him already set up and unwilling to move out of said cabin offers her two choices; stay and deal with the anger and hurt his previous rejection caused, or go back to her parents house, where peace and quiet, in order to recuperate is virtually non-existent with her families well-meaning over-protectiveness. I did initially have a few struggles with Taylor, overly independent and bull-headed are the words that spring to mind when thinking about how I would describe her, but when you are constantly battling with your elders for independence and a little recognition, rather than being coddled and over-protected to the point of suffocation, I could see the reasons for her reticence to acquiesce to Travis’s wishes straight away. ”It’s all about Taylor.” This couple are sexy-hot together, their shared past, means that the novella didn’t feel rushed or under-developed, the story flows well, and the epilogue gives a great close to Taylor and Travis’s eventual coming together as well as a great opening for the next book in the series - Her Hometown Hero, Spence and Sage’s story is due for release in June, and I am looking forward to catching up with the residents of Sterling, as well as getting this couples story. Melody Anne never fails to give her readers those sexy yet sweet books that every romance addicts love. Melody Anne is one favorite authors because I know that I will always be left with a big fat smile on my face. Taylor Winchester is back in her hometown recuperating after she was left injured from a motor cross race. She is in desperate mode to get back on the track, but she needs to heal and get a doctor to sign off that she is ready to return back to racing. Being back home at her parent's house, she felt a little suffocated and so she heads to her older brother's secluded cabin seeking so alone time. But what Taylor didn't expect was to come face to face with her first love, Travis Montclave. As it turns out, Travis is also the best friend to Taylor's older brother and the guy she lost her virginity to. For six years, Taylor somehow was able to avoid Travis since she felt rejected after that one night they spent together. But the feelings that these two had six years ago, is much stronger than ever now. With Taylor back in his life, Travis makes it known to her now that he wants her and that he loves her. So will Taylor will be able to let go of her fears and the walls that surrounds her heart, and let Travis in? Will Taylor and Travis get their second chance at love? Though this book was a short fast read, I loved the chemistry that Ms. Anne was able to showcase in the story. Who I Am With You is a sweet, sexy, endearing story of first love and second chances of life and love. So if you are looking for a book, that will leave a smile on your face then look no further. 2.5 rating... This is a short, quick and easy read. It was okay but I think it would have been better as a full length novel. I would've liked more time to have been spent learning more about Taylor and Travis and their past relationship. I also would've liked to have delved a little deeper into the life Travis was living in the military, his accident and how it affected him. Everything in this short story was very rushed and fade to black. I needed and wanted more... I have to be honest too in 2.5 rating... This is a short, quick and easy read. Everything in this short story was very rushed and fade to black. I needed and wanted more... I have to be honest too in that I really didn't like Taylor. She was reckless, defiant and had a bad attitude for no apparent reason. Her need to prove that she can do everything on her own came across as irritating and arrogant. I understood her reluctance not to want Travis back in her life after what he did. Yes, that was justified. But, she was behaving mostly like a spoiled teen instead of a grown woman. I also felt like the wrong person was groveling in the end. Yes, you do need to accept people for who they are, but when they are putting their life in danger for reasons that are self serving that is absolutely not okay. Just my own humble opinion of course... I definitely have an interest in giving one of the full length books in this series a try if the focus shifts to some of the supporting characters. There is definitely some matchmaking and meddling going on behind the scenes that I found amusing. I received a copy of this title for review as a part of the XOXperts Street Team! Who I Am With You had been a quick, light read that I probably finished with just one bus ride. Despite it being short, Who I Am With You had been a carrier of emotions that sang a bit of home to me. It was an okay book all throughout, except that I had a few problems with the heroine herself. Truth be told, I admire her strength and courage. Taylor was independent, and as much as I relate to her wanting to be free, she was stubborn as hell. She was just SO annoying and I thought she was a spoiled brat despite being an adult. I wish I could explain more, but I was cringing every time she makes an inner monologue about not needing help and not accepting any. I understand her independence and her beliefs about how women can get unfair advantage sometimes -- hell, I strive to be independent too and fight for my rights too. But she was just .. ugh. I see her as someone who thinks everything evolves around her, when actually it doesn't. I hated her, okay? I am probably one of the few who thought so. The hero, on the other hand, was better. I think he deserves better. I didn't really give a shit about the two of them, to be honest. Anyway, scratch it when I said it was an okay book. I read it in one bus ride because the heroine was unbearable. As I was writing this review, I literally changed it from 3 stars to 2 stars because I remembered suddenly what I felt for her. Perhaps this works for most people, but I don't have enough patience to give a shit to people who is too proud to give up their pride (*cough* the heroine *cough). I am not drunk enough to read this book. 2/5!

My Review: This is a short, light read about two people occupying the same remote cabin...not exactly big in the creative department, but it was entertaining enough to read. What is creative is that the heroine is a motocross racer, recovering from a bad accident...definitely not a normal occupation for most heroines in romance. And I liked that she was tough and independent, until that went to the extreme. And I liked that she was tough and independent, until that went to the extreme. I know that you're supposed to have drama at the end of a story for the climax, but that just seemed contrived. She's not stupid and I find it hard to believe that she would do the things she did at the end of this story. BUT...that's my personal two cents. I did enjoy the backstory between the characters and found that to be believable...although there were issues in this ARC about whether that happened 3 years ago or 6 years. I'm thinking that's something that will have been fixed by the final copy. At least I hope so, because that's a big difference between 23 and 26 for where Taylor is in her career and ability to heal and bounce back. Travis, the hero, has just been medically discharged after and IED explosion screwed up his peripheral vision. They are both recovering and I wish the author had exploited that a bit more, because that's some serious common ground for the two of them, especially with Taylor's paranoia issues after her brain trauma. The groundwork was all there for what could have been some great moments between the two of them, but didn't quite pay out. But what is there are some hot scenes skinny dipping and a sweet playing in the rain scene that I loved. Like I said, for what was there, it was entertaining. I just hate that the author didn't expand on the great foundation she built to make it a great book...and I know that's not all that easy to do in a novella format. But I'm still looking forward to reading more from her. I received a complimentary copy of this book in return for an honest review.

At first, it was a complication, but soon after, their situation turned for the better quickly and intimately. Funny thing is there are larger beings than just a coincidence at play here. If you didn’t already know, this spin-off series has a hint meddling elders in this town. I say a hint because, they’re presence aren’t usually a big part of the book. Four friends, Maggi, Eileen, Bethel and Martin, has been setting up their kids into their happy-ever-afters. Travis and Taylor were both so stubborn that it was fun to watch them fall all over themselves to annoy each other. It wasn’t so much angst to their relationship, but it felt more of a foreplay in my opinion. Travis was sexy, confident and such a flirt he made me laugh. I love that they quickly jump into a comfortable friendship before the love came. And the fact that they’ve known each other made their love come easily and believable. Travis and Taylor were such a fun couple, I wish their story were longer. Short, fun, and most definitely an enjoyable read.

A cute story that actually didn't feel like reading a novella. Maybe it's because I love Melody Anne's style of writing, so this book didn't come short even though it's called novella. Taylor's reckless and wild, but Gavin's able to tame her even though not so much. I love how easy their relationship is and I can't wait to continue with this series! Hardheaded Woman!!! This was my favorite between Hawk's story and Taylor's. Taylor and Travis' story was so good and well rounded, I didn't even feel it was a short story. It was fulfilling in all aspects. Taylor is a hardheaded woman and Travis is very stubborn man. These two have a history. One that rocked and horrified his world. After her latest crash and injuries, she moves back in with her parents for a while but after a few months she feels suffocated by them.  “Come on, Taylor. If you haven’t been broken yet, you’re certainly not going to let this be your demise.” When her mother offers for her to go to her brother’s cabin to relax and rest she admits it sounds like a great idea. However, she wasn’t expecting company in the cabin. It seems Bryson, her brother, had invited Taylor to the cabin first. The last man she wants to spend her time with is the one who broke her heart 3 years ago. “Don’t for one minute think I’m a pushover, Taylor, just because I managed to show more restraint than most men would when a pretty teenager threw herself at them. We’re both all grown up now, and I tend to go after what I want.” Travis Montclave is back in town. He was honorably discharged from the army after being injured in combat. He is deciding what to do next with his life. When his friend offers him the cabin he’s happy to accept. Even more so when Taylor shows up. She is not a teenager anymore and this time he won’t stop until he makes her understand that he’s back in her life for the long haul. He will make this stubborn woman give him another chance. “There are no missed chances, Taylor. Only people too damn stubborn to see what’s right in front of them.” It’s nice coming back to a book where you know some of the characters already. It gives you a sense of familiarity.  From the first scene I knew I was going to like the hero and heroine together. Taylor and Travis had great chemistry. I like that Taylor had an interesting career. She was strong willed and determined. Travis was patient with her and he never gave up trying to convince her to explore what they felt for each other.  “I think you’re more than ready, and when you feel brave enough to tell me, we’ll make magic together.” Cliffhanger: No 4/5 Fangs A complimentary copy was provided by the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Unfortunately, as it turns out, the cabin is already inhabited by her brother’s best friend and her ex crush, Travis. The last time they really interacted was a night that left Taylor satiated and in love. unfortunately for her, that feeling was one-sided. Now that they’ve reunited once again, Taylor can’t stop the memory of that night from crashing down on her and flooding her with the pain and rejection she was doused in. Not wanting to go back to her parent’s home to be babied, Taylor chooses to share the cabin with Travis and deal with their past. Being a novella, this romance is bound to be fast paced and to the point. However, I felt like it was all a bit too rushed. I found it difficult to really get that connection from either of the characters. Taylor is in her early twenties, yet there were several moments where she came off as childish and immature. I understand the need to branch out and challenge her family’s constant coddling, but instead of handling it like an adult she acted like a rebellious teen. Taylor and Travis’ relationship came on a little forced for me as the reader. Perhaps I can chalk it up to not reading the first book in this series, perhaps not. I’m sure if you’ve read Her Unexpected Hero prior to this one, you might have a better reading experience during this quick, second-chance romance. For me though, this book was just “eh”. The end takes us into a private discussion in which a group of parents band together to match-make their remaining children. That POV change, I must admit, came out of left field for me and shook up the moment (and not in a good way). This scheme of theirs sets up the plot for the next book in the series, Her Hometown Hero, releasing June 30th. http://xoxoafterdark.com/

When she finally convinced her mother that she wanted to live in her brother Hawk’s Cabin for some peace and quiet, she didn’t expect an old flame to be there as well. Ex-military man Travis, her high school crush and her brother’s best friend is there as well. The past wouldn’t let her forgive him. After he rejects her twice, leaving her high and dry and calling what happened to them a mistake. He should leave the cabin and leave her alone. But Travis would not. It wasn’t the right time then, now however, given this second chance, he wouldn’t let her go. He stood his ground, not leaving the cabin. Trying to show her that he’s there to stay, and he’d do anything to get her back into his bed. Will she be able to resist him? Both of them are stubborn, it’s a battle of will and wits – who will win? I like Taylor’s will to go back to the bike, but I hated the stubbornness that goes along with it. The danger that the sport poses outweighs the pros, and she should have realized that. As for Travis, he did something awful back then, and if I were Taylor I’d be quite careful before I succumb to his charms once again. But he’s back, and he’s showing her he was in for the long run. Who I Am with You is a quick, second chance at romance with a small-town setting. This wasn’t perfect but it was a sweet love story. She is reminded of the pain from their past and vows to not get hurt by Travis again. But they are different people now and Travis wants a second chance. With her mind set on her career can Taylor make room for Travis in her life? You have to read this to find out! I thought it was unique to have Taylor be a motocross racer. It is a nice change to have the heroine competes in a male dominated sport. But it took me a while to actually like Taylor. She wants her family to take her seriously but I was annoyed with the pouting and the foot stomping when she didn’t get her way. This is a novella but I thought the romance between Taylor and Travis was too rushed. I felt they needed to deal with their past more. It seemed too fast for Taylor to forgive him for breaking her heart. Despite the problems I had with the story I did enjoy this novella. This is the second book I have read from author Melody Anne. The Unexpected Heroes series has a group of meddling matchmakers that I am curious to read more about. Who I Am with You is a perfect choice for when you want a quick romance. Who I Am With You is the first book I have read by Melody Anne and it was amazing from start to finish. It tells the story of Taylor, a strong independent woman with a passion for motocross racing that was until she had an accident that could have nearly killed her. Her family and doctor tells her she need to relax and think about whether or not she wants to get back on a bike again, as she may not be as lucky next time. Being back home isn't doing anything to relax Taylor, so she goes to stay at Who I Am With You is the first book I have read by Melody Anne and it was amazing from start to finish. Being back home isn't doing anything to relax Taylor, so she goes to stay at her brother Hawk's cabin hoping to relax and recover so she can get back to the life that is waiting for her back home. Although she doesn't plan on Travis, a friend of her brother and someone who broke her heart when she was in high school. Travis has seen his fair share of horrible situations and overcome a lot of personal issues to get to where he is today. He finds solace and peace at the cabin where he can escape the rest of the world, that was until Taylor came crashing in the door just as beautiful as she was in high school but he couldn't and wouldn't go there then and definitely not now. It soon becomes a battle of who wins when they both refuse to leave the cabin, coming to a compromise that they would share the cabin as long as they don't get in each others way. Although it isn't long before the feelings that they once felt come floating back and taking over their bodies, once more, but the passion that they have for each other pushes them to lose control of their last remaining resolve and feel new hope that they hadn't felt in a long time. Who I Am With You shows the different side to being vulnerable and losing control, how it can change the way you look at things and how one single person can make you feel as if you are their future by giving up their happiness for yours. If I had to sum this book up in three words, they would be Hope, Passion and Captivating.

*ARC provided by publisher Reviewed by Angela❤ ♡ Don't want to miss any of our posts? Subscribe to our blog by email! ♡ ❤

I wasn't sure about it, I really wanted to like it, and in general is a good book, but I feel like the main characters were a disapointment. We have Taylor, a woman who her whole life has been fighting to prove to everyone she is as good as her brothers, any men actually. She fights with everyone that suggest otherwise, but then Travis comes and takes over her life. She had a crush on her brother's best friend Travis for a long time and finally gets him to notice her, they have sex and she said that she loved him. He then states that she doesn't know what love is, she doesn't know what she wants and that everything was a mistake. Six years later they end up in a cabin living together, and Travis suddenly decides that he wants her and that they are going to end up together, he is now ready to a relationship and even if she says she wants nothing with him he already decided that they are going to be together. She ends up with him, because after all she loves him, had loved him for years, even if he didn't want her love before. What I don't like about this is that they try to pass Taylor as a strong woman who knows what she wants and doesn't let anyone tell her what to do, but Travis has absolutely control over the relationship, he never acknowledges that what happened before was wrong, even if she was young (20 isn't that young), it wasn't like they had to get married right at that moment, there was no problem with a relationship between them, but he gets to, unilateraly decide when they can and cannot have a relationship and never acknowledges that she knew what she was doing, he decides when she is ready and when she is not. I guess that it has a happy ending, because after all she wanted them to be together and she never stopped loving him, but despite Travis being described as almost a perfect man, there were some imbalances that just didn't work for me.

Melody Anne writes some really, really sweet romances with sassy and stubborn heroines and heroes equally stubborn, yet tenacious and protective. Being in the company of your loved one sure brings out the real you, to overcome the insecurities and give your heart the trust and love that it deserves. Taylor Winchester may be an ass-kicking, motocross rider throwing herself into danger every time she gets on the bike, but she’s still a woman who wants to be loved and cherished for who she is. And that is exactly what Travis wants to do when they end up at a cabin together. Recovering from a major accident, Taylor is impatient to get back on the bike, and Travis is hell-bent on changing her mind, with his love, trust and protectiveness…. subtle and patient as Taylor is a firecracker of being the independent woman, who wants to prove she can survive in a male dominated sport. One cabin and one bedroom, two people with a history, fiery passion crackling between them and the possibility of lightening and thunderstorms, Melody Anne gives her readers a spunky, charming and a romantic read as Taylor and Travis wage a battle of wills. Loved Taylor for her stubborn and independent streak, yet when the time comes she’s smart enough to realize what’s important to her. Travis is manipulative and good with easing in options, never dominating or demanding yet giving space to Taylor to make her own decisions is lovable and the perfect gentleman. “Who I Am With You” is another charming addition to Melody Anne’s legacy of romance and love stories. Received an ARC from Gallery, Threshold Books via NetGalley for an honest review.

Taylor is not your typical girl. She is a strong competitor in the motorcross sport. When an injury knocks her out of the competitive field for lengthy period she is forced to stay put and heal. Escaping her parents home to her brother’s cabin seems like the ideal situation. The only problem is that her brother told someone else they could use his cabin. That someone else happens to be her first love, Travis, the guy that rejected her young heart. Travis has just gotten out of the military and needs time to get himself together. He’s shocked when his best friend’s younger sister ends up in the same cabin he is. Both Travis and Taylor are at crossroads in their lives. Their time in the cabin will bring self discoveries, new directions, and love. Both will find they have something better ahead of them. This novella was the perfect quick romance that was packed with emotion, sincere characters, sizzling hot romance, and uncomplicated plot. It was thoroughly entertaining. I look forward to more books in the Unexpected Heroes series.

For Taylor that is worse than the actual injury, racing and her motorcycle is her life. Staying with her parents is driving her crazy so her mom suggests her brother Hawk’s cabin. Unbeknownst to her Hawk already told his best friend Travis he could use it. Travis and Taylor have a history, a brief history, but still Taylor is still sore about it. Taylor always thought she was in love with Travis and when she was finally is old enough Travis took her virginity. Travis has been in love with Taylor and feels like it is finally the right time to act on it he just has to convince her that it is. The forced time off isn’t the only thing that is driving Taylor crazy it is the thought that she may have to give up her motocross career because this last head injury. Travis feels like he has to show Taylor her other options. But Taylor is stubborn and after having to everyone telling her what she should do she wants to do what she wants to do. Taylor and Travis must figure out a way to compromise or else fail to get their HEA. ARC REVIEW

Sweet, delightful, and enjoyable read! <3 Taylor is a fierce woman. She’s not a girl. She may not look as strong as she is, but she’s got a fire in her like no other woman (or man) does! :) She won’t let anything or anyone bring her down. (I loved that about her!) Her love of racing is all she knows, and she’s determined to get back on the bike. After another serious accident, she has to take a break from the world she knows and loves. Her love of racing is all she knows, and she’s determined to get back on the bike. After another serious accident, she has to take a break from the world she knows and loves. But, what scares her is not being able to ride again… …and that isn’t her only fear. While trying to take the time to recoup and get other ideas, the only man she’s ever truly cared for is back. Her brother’s best friend, Travis, is back from the military and he’s settled on making Taylor’s his for good. Though they shared a moment years ago, she’s also never left his mind. Now, seeing her grown up and needing some comfort, he’s intent on being the shoulder she needs–even if she won’t admit it! ;) Taylor has to make some tough decisions about her future. Will she put her life in danger for something she’s passionate about, or will she finally give in to the only person she’s ever loved? Find out in this short and lovely read! :D It’s the perfect HEA book you want to brighten your day! This was a wonderful story about second chances and finding happiness! Review from The Novel Tease

She had no clue that her seclusion was very short lived. Travis Montclave is a returning soldier that just wants some peace and quiet in his best friend's secluded cabin. What he didn't expect was to have his best friend's little sister there. To make matters worse...the attraction they once felt for each other was stronger than ever. "He and Taylor had a story to finish, and he knew that the telling of it was going to leave them both gasping for air." The banter between these two was great! Their chemistry was coming through each page. I wanted to shake Taylor and make her see how amazing Travis was!! She's so stubborn. hehe:) This was a great story about second chances, and finding out where you really want your life to go--and who you want by your side. "How do you always know exactly the right words to say?" "You make me a man I've never been before."

This is book five that is apart of the Unexpected Heroes Series As a top class motocross rider, Taylor Winchester has made a fantastic career out of throwing herself into danger headfirst and almost as fiercely as any of the guys racing against her. After a very brutal crash, Taylor takes some forced R&R while she tries to let her injuries heal. Taylor's mom wishes that she’d settle down and find true love and even have a baby or two…Problem is that Taylor wants is to get back on her bike. Taylor's mom wishes that she’d settle down and find true love and even have a baby or two…Problem is that Taylor wants is to get back on her bike. Taylor heads to her brother Hawk’s cabin to have a little peace and quiet she is so damn shocked to discover she’s not the only person staying there. The other person who is staying at Hawk's cabin is Ex-military man Travis. Travis was her high school crush and has also borrowed the cabin. Big problem is that both Taylor and Travis are too damn stubborn to let the other one win. With nothing left to do but share the small cabin… Which quickly leads to them both sharing the bed! As Taylor and Travis start to discover the heat that is between them is now way far more than a fling. With both Travis and Taylor struggling with letting go of control, Can they learn to give a little, maybe what they could and most likely want to win is worth more than any prize… I need more than 5 *s but again need to settle for 5. I'd recommend this author and all her books

Taylor really had a point to prove and although she was very stubborn, she was relatable. I understood where she was coming from and how hard it can be to try to survive in a male dominated sport. It was great that she had a strong sexy hunk like Travis to help her see that there was more to life then she could ever imagine. Honestly for 1.99 you cant lose with this novella, I definitely recommend this book and this author.

Sometimes in ebooks you end up with a cliffhanger, which I hate! This book by Melody Anne is lighthearted without the drama and an ending that you will love. The perfect read to give us the romance we want with characters that we like!
