characters were a little too cliche, but not terrible. I didn't know this was the second book in the series and I found it a little difficult to catch on in the first chapter, but I figured everything out pretty quickly. fun read, though I do think that Mistral and Fabian are a little too flat. Edit: the second time reading was worse than the first. I decided to try and tackle the whole series, and found that it really leaves much to be desired. There are a ton of editing errors (to the point where you have to decipher the grammar and who actually said what, it's not even always the twins, which would be more understandable. Like, really, the author can't keep a conversation straight?) , Mistral is a lovestruck puppy that is every bit as stupid as her brothers call her out to be, and Fabian is so controlling that I just can't even. The characterization of Mistral's brothers redeem the book a little, as they are the only ones that seem to have a grasp on realism. I don't even know why I'm going to try and read the next five books, other than that I'm a glutton for punishment, and while Mistral is annoying, the twins make my day.

The Assassin's Destiny doesn't disappoint...this really is addictive reading! So much more than a sequel to The Assassin's Tale, this is once again expertly written. When a book makes you laugh out loud or you find yourself shouting 'no?', it's testimony to a talented writer who is clearly having fun. What can I say, I'm hooked! Bravo K L Jones!
