I won this book on Goodreads and love cooking so was excited to get the book. I been looking through all the recipes and they look very easy and a good beginner Italian cookbook. If you like family stories with your recipes you will like this book makes it feel a friend or family member is teaching you cooking on how they learned it. For my taste I wish there were more pictures of the food and showing what they were doing then their family photos. I like seeing the food I am going to make and having pictures of the food and not just one ingredient to me it is a waste of a picture if you are not going to show the dish. After I try some more of the recipes might change the review.

Just received this book as an ARC. Haven't had the chance to read too much yet, but the quality is very good. A very nice hardcover with high quality pages. Can't wait too read it. I really enjoy this book. It is such a nice combination of recipes, both simple and more intricate; stories and photos. I definitely recommend to anybody looking for some great recipes and a cookbook worth sitting down and actually reading.

It was fun to read the personal stories. Recipes are not complicated. Photography is impressive. A few recipes that I will try. It is the story that is served with the recipe that makes this book special. Who knew I needed a recipe to fry mushrooms, or combine cream cheese and bread in a sandwich. To me, it was the story that suggests I should make a jam sandwich to capture thier story in my house today.

I was lucky enough to win a copy if this book through a Goodreads giveaway! I love cookbooks, so I was really happy to win this book. It is a great cookbook. The recipes sound great and I can't wait to try them! I do wish it had more pictures though. I like to see pictures of the food with recipes and this book definitely does not have many pictures.

I received this as a GoodReads giveaway. I enjoyed the stories that went with each recipe. Reminded me of my hometown (big Italian area) and folks I knew. I even saw some recipes for things my Grandma used to make so it brought back fond memories. Great book. I enjoyed immensely.

As soon as I started reading the recipes I became hungry! My wife, a filipina, looked over my shoulder and immediately confiscated the book. I found it the next day with property of... and a shopping list.
