Blanche Herrera is the best at Jason Fowler will do whatever it takes to save his club. For ten years, the Seven Devils MC and its president Jason Fowler have kept the sleepy Californian town of Gold Creek out of the influence of the drug lords to the south. But now, they find themselves targeted by the ruthless Norte Mexicali cartel—who are looking to erase them for good. Blanche Herrera is the best at what she does. With a sweet face and an innocent laugh, nobody ever suspected her to be one of the most deadly assassins for the Norte Mexicali cartel. When told that removing Jason Fowler will help the cartel bring peace to Gold Creek, Blanche takes up the job without hesitation. She never thought she’d fall into his world. Blanche knows to keep business and pleasure strictly separated, but there’s something about Jason Fowler that is making it difficult to separate the two. And when she finds herself tumbling into his bed, she’ll start questioning just where her loyalty truly lies.

Thankfully this was a free book because it was so, so bad. Not even sure where to begin and I think I'm going to save you all my ranting. Fake plot, insta-love and so unrealistic. Not for me. The heroine should be bad-ass and not so careless, right? Yet, careless is what she is which: ding ding ding... it springs Jason on to the scene, quiet as a ninja. HOW did she not know he was there? She's a trained assassin for crying out loud! But no bad-ass here... instead she sobs when something major happens in that first 3%. Another thing that bothered me: Why does she go directly to the gutter in her head when Jason says he's basically going to save her? One last annoyance: Why Not for me. I got this book when it was offered free and since I love biker books and the synopsis looked interesting, I had to read it. I was a little disappointed that it seemed to be all over the place...people's emotions were changing at the drop of a hat...lust, distrust and anger all intermingled several times. I also hated that it ended on a big cliffhanger (one of my pet peeves) and yet it seems like the same scenario keeps repeating through the whole novella...Jason hates Blanche, doesn't trust her, I got this book when it was offered free and since I love biker books and the synopsis looked interesting, I had to read it. I would have liked to read more background history of what happened to Blanche to make her become an assassin...and less of an intant-romance thing where they kiss and have sex within hours of meeting. An ok short story if you can get it free or for 99 cents. **** 3.5 **** "who are you and why are you really here?" stars

Even after a lackluster start to a series, I usually will go to book 2. Serveral have surprised me, and turned out to be good series, that improved with each installment. That might be the case with this series, but I won't be finding out. This book was not for me. Both characters are TSTL. I ranted the entire time. I wish everyone the best on their journey through the rest of the series, but I'm out. One last status update...I'll put a spoiler on...(view spoiler)[if she was busted out of jail, k Even after a lackluster start to a series, I usually will go to book 2. This first book in the series starts off a little slow. We don't get much backstory and then there is insta-love that I am not a big fan of. I enjoyed the strong female lead, but was disappointed by the "biker" and his wimpy angry ways. I am going to read book two and hope for the best. Terrible ending to a predictable storyline. The story was not overly interesting. The Harley references were not very good. Quick read though but the ending was the worst of any book I have ever read. Don't waist your time. Terrible ending to a predictable storyline. The story was not overly interesting. I this as a freebie which is a really good thing. Blanche is an assassin but cries at the drop of a hat. Huh! Blanche has been sent to town to kill Jason whom she course falls in love with with mere hours. Don't waste your time. I this as a freebie which is a really good thing. The story seemed too cluttered. This girl is supposed to be a trained assassin but she gets herself stuck within 5 minutes of the book. She's a damsel in distress and the back a forth between her and Jason was more annoying than anything. The story seemed too cluttered. This book had a lot of potential, but fell short for me. I might have to read the next book just to see what happens though.

Good potential - poorly written This book would be awesome with major proofreading and editing - the quality is at the level of a rough draft. The author has a very creative mind.

No words. All I have to say is that the suspense is way too great. You have got to read. The drama, threats, love, and murder is just perfect.
