Here's what others said about it from when it was THE APPLE ORCHARD BED AND BREAKFAST: a contemporary, sweet romance "The Apple Orchard Bed & Breakfast is splendid. Ron and Caryl McAdoo have concocted a story line brimming with originality, Christian values, and humor. Each and every character is fully realized with a distinct individuality and contributes to the enjoyment of this easy reading, delightful book.” FIVE STARS from Affaire de Coeur Magazine for Romance Readers Wealthy recluse W. G. Preston advertises for a woman to serve as manager of a bed and breakfast. In fact the B&B is a front as Preston really seeks a wife and plans a competition among eight female applicants where one each month will be sent home packing. Preston plans to marry the final survivor. The women are a diverse lot. The widow grandmother Marjorie is witty and friendly yet naive. Vicki hides her enchanting vulnerability with queenly persona armor. Audrey is a great listener yet can be quite moody. The cute Natalie cannot make friends. The beautiful Virginia acts snobbish. The energetic Holly can lift anyone's spirits, but ruined her wholesome image with the implants. Charlotte is knowledgeable but make sure everyone else knows it. Dorothy is quite a leader, but Preston does not need a manager, he wants a wife. Which one of this octet will win the prize? If the audience can hurdle the moral questions of a spousal elimination contest, the story line of THE APPLE ORCHARD BED AND BREAKFAST is actually an amusing character study. The plot hooks readers through the depth provided to the cast, which enables the novel to avoid the pitfalls of How to Marry a Millionaire. Each of the key players can be distinguished from one another, a difficult accomplishment when describing eight women and a few other prime members. The story line uses a journal entry approach with Preston providing his perspective on the players. Ron & Caryl McAdoo furnish the audience with an engaging but rather different romance. McAdoo brings to life an interesting and unique romance novel! A very wealthy widower brings women to his home and hosts various events/challenges for them to compete for his hand in marriage. Each month, one woman leaves. The story captivates its audience and keeps them reading until the end. The question on everyone's mind is: Which woman will be left and will it be the one he truly wants as his wife? The issue of luck may turn off some Christians but the author does cover this near the end of McAdoo brings to life an interesting and unique romance novel! I enjoyed the last couple chapters the best as it tied up all the questions. I had trouble at the beginning of the story keeping all the characters straight. But as you get further into the story the number of characters reduce as someone leaves the house each month. I was pretty sure I knew who WG felt the connection with, but with the way that he was choosing who left each month I began to wonder what he was thinking. I didn't like that he played with the ladies hearts like this. But he did re I enjoyed the last couple chapters the best as it tied up all the questions. I had so much fun reading this book. The main characters are a little older, which I loved because they are more my age. All the characters were uniquely themselves, which made for a bit of friction between them and kept the book moving along. I really enjoyed this book and would recommend it, especially for those who are in the fiftyish age range. I received an e-copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

Interesting and sweet I wasn’t sure what I was going to get when I started this novel. But it was a good read. I really love the concept and now knowing after reading the afterword that it was prior to the bachelor show makes sense. I would recommend this book to lovers of sweet romances.

A very unique, witty plot. I couldn't put it down. I love that my favorite charactors are still very much active at the end of the book only their relationships have changed. What a way for Dub to fulfill his promises to his deceased wife. Love, trust, forgiveness, and many emotions make for a well written book. I was given this book for an honest review. I had trouble getting into the book. The premise wasn't completely far-fetched, but somehow I didn't find myself liking any of the characters. I stopped reading before I got half-way.
