It's free and so far no cliffhangers but very, very tame MC's. I'm working my way through this collection and so far there's been no real cliffhangers, I've only one book to go but I'm going to have to take a break and read something longer and more substantial, it was a mistake to read all these consecutively and I'm not really sure why I did, it's just that they're all so short I'd finish one and think I'll quickly read another and then another. Even though I've not quite finished I'm posting this for readers like me who've been burnt by collections like these before where all you get is 'first in series' books and samples which usually end in huge cliffhangers and all you feel is annoyed and cheated. Like I said so far there's been no sign of a cliffhanger and originally I gave this collection 5 stars based on the fact that it's free and free from cliffhangers but the more I read the more I realise that 5 stars isn't a fair reflection of this collection since the highest I've rated any of these is 3 stars, I'm undecided between giving 2 or 3 stars I'm going to settle on 3 because after all it's free and all the stories are full if very short. Like I said these are all incredibly short reads and as such they suffer from lack of depth and character development, some more than others but the main problem they all had in common and again this was due to the length was insta-love, I don't as a rule like the 'instant' love thing but it happens in all these and yes I know it's because there's not enough room for a proper build-up but it gets annoying after a while. Riding the Wind - 3 stars Danni Stewart has a thing for bikers but it's got her a five year old son Cole and five years as a single parent, now while Cole is her world and she wouldn't change a thing she's stuck in a small town waitressing and apart from her friend Sarah and of course Cole her life is pretty dull but then she's young she'll get her life together when Cole gets older for now he comes first, but then a group of bikers roll into the diner where she works and one in particular has her remembering exactly why she has a thing for bikers and after all it's only one night so what harm could it do, he'll be gone by morning and she really, really needs this. I really liked Danni, she's a great female character with none of those stupid idiot moments which seem to plague so many females these days and Derek, wow I'm female of course I love Derek he's the complete mix of everything we crave in a romance male. This is a good enjoyable hot little read because it was part of a box set I didn't check out the book first I wasn't sure what to expect and I didn't realise that it was so short, only 68 pages so it was shorter than I expected but still a good quick read. Deadly Sins - 3 stars This is the second book I've read by this author and it's an enjoyable read with a good strong female character, a hot male and no cliffhanger, sounds good, yes it is. Laura is an actress getting her first real break as the leading female in a blockbuster action film, the director wants the film to be as realistic as possible and hires Roman, now Roman is a member of the The Ghost Lights, an MC running out of San Diego and he's here to help with the movie. This is not your typical MC book, in fact it's not really a MC book at all it's a romance, there is a side story involving the MC but it didn't really make sense or work for me at all I think it's just there to move certain things along. Now while I enjoyed this book it's not to be taken too seriously like I said it's a light but hot read featuring two attractive and very confident people who are drawn to each other. Hearts of Iron - 2 stars This is the third book in this collection by this author and while I've enjoyed the previous two 'Riding the Wind' and 'Deadly Sins' this one was a disappointment. Katie Brighton is the town doctor and she wants to bring law and order to her small town instead of the hometown justice which is currently dealt out Lance Brewer and his MC. This is a short book and it's too short for this story to really work and it's silly to be honest once the 'law' arrives. Like I said this is the third book I've read by this author and they're all very similar, mainly a romance the MC part is really just decoration. What I've liked about the previous two is the strong female character and the hot male but after the first few pages neither of these worked for me, Katie, well you can't argue her intentions are good I didn't like the way she handled things and Lance wasn't really the alpha male I wanted. Maybe reading three books by the same author in two days could be classed as a mistake but as with the previous books the 'drama' doesn't seem to fit, seems unnecessary and really rushed and while it was a little annoying in the previous two it totally spoilt this one for me. Angels from Hell - 3 stars This is a very short read at only 47 pages and because it's so short there's not a lot of story or character development. Claire's life was on track and going really well, she's always been responsible and hardworking but lately things have not been going her way the diagnostic lab she worked for was bought out and she was let go then on top of that she was given notice that her apartment was being converted into luxury condominiums so she was homeless and jobless. The book starts with her travelling to Asheville, North Carolina to live with her brother Charlie until she gets settled, Charlie has a job and apartment lined up for her so she's all set the only problem appears to be Charlie's best friend and roommate Shep, Claire's not really sure she likes him, or does she.... Unchained - 2 stars From the description I really liked the sound of this book it was only the length, 42 pages which put me off but once I actually started to read I realised this book just wasn't for me. Raina is her daddy's little princess and at first I pictured her about sixteen years old, then I thought no since she's working for him maybe she's a little older and although we never find out exactly how old she is I suspect she's much older than it appears but it just didn't sit right with me, she calls him daddy he calls her princess and controls just about every aspect of her life, but what really didn't ring true is that she meets Neil and within seconds she's rubbing his arm and..... well since there's not much book or story I'm not going to spoil it for you but it's rushed, unrealistic and silly. Ride Angel Ride - 3 stars Mary Taylor has lived her whole life amongst bikers her father Atticus is the founder of the Red Skull MC's and after her mothers death when she was seven they became her family and they've looked after and protected her her whole life, and that was fine while she was a little girl in need of protection but now she's a woman and none of them seem to realise this, she has no life outside the club and she's still a virgin with no sign of that changing anytime soon, or so she thought but then Roger Martinez or 'Speedy' arrives from the Dallas chapter and looks at her like she's actually a woman. This is a very quick read and I wish it had been longer I personally would have liked more development and depth but it's not a bad read. Dirty Rider - 1 star Nolan is sent out to the small town of Eureka by the president of his MC, Satan's Soldiers to work as a mechanic, Kristin's Evans car breaks down in Eureka and there's lots of sex, that's it basically. To make it even worse, yes it can get worse, I didn't like either of the characters, at all and all the 'new' Kris 'old' Kris did nothing apart from get on my last nerve, I'm just so glad it was so short. Angels Don't Cry - 3 stars I'll be honest and say that I nearly didn't read this book since the only previous book I've read by this author 'Dirty Rider' was just awful but I did read it and I'm glad I did. Lizzie is the only female patch holder in the Road Knights MC, her Uncle Jimmy was president but it's five days since he passed and the club needs a president, since no one is coming forward Lizzie stands up and nominates herself, she's seconded by Liam James, her uncles right hand and she's quickly voted in and not before time it would appear someone's been making the most of the lack of leadership and Lizzie has her work cut out for her. Lizzie is a strong female, she's intelligent and ruthless but still a woman and this made this book a little different. Stone Cold - 1 star I didn't really understand this book, I didn't like either of the characters at all in fact the only slightly interesting part was the dinner conversation with Cesario. The whole book seemed kind of pointless, a ride down to Mexico, sex and talking about sex, a meeting then sex. Angels Die Hard - 2 stars Ever since her mother left Kirra's alcoholic father has been abusive, blaming her for her mothers departure, first chance she gets Kirra leaves and aged twenty she settles into a small biker town working behind the bar at Denny's which is where she meets Brennen. Brennen make seem like just an ordinary guy but after seven years he's now the president of the Red Hearts MC and is he willing to risk it all for a woman? This was ok early on, I liked the idea of Kirra and Brennen finding each other but then it all became a rush and ended, I appreciate with short books like this it's difficult to get any depth or real character development but it seemed like a race to the finish line and I wasn't buying his 'reason' for being in the MC, well not so much being in but working like hell for seven years to become president. Hearts on Fire - 3 stars I have to say I enjoyed this book but I'm working my way through this box set which is full of very short MC books and if I'm being honest the bar isn't really set very high so I'm wondering if it's just that this is the eleventh book and if I'd read these, not just this one, but if I'd read them all in isolation would I have a different opinion? It's just a thought. Anyway Annie's life is awful, her printing business is in trouble, she's looking after her father who has Alzheimer's and her waste of space brother has been crashing on her couch for nearly two years. Her friend Rosie realises that Annie needs a night out and it's on this night out that Annie meets Manny. Easy Rider - 3 stars Miriam Glenn or Ria is focused on her life as a archaeologist she's dedicated and has no time for men, not after her last relationship ended in disaster four years ago, but men aside she needs a break and a bash at the local club is just the thing she needs. Jamison Knolls is not only a member of the Demon Riders MC but he's also a decorated veteran and couldn't turn down the invitation from the American Legion to the unveiling of a memorial, so the night before he finds himself at a bash at the local club and while he feels uncomfortable with praise and would rather not be here once he sets his eyes on Ria he's glad he turned up. This is an enjoyable if quick read with two likeable characters and some hot scenes.

Interesting choices of short stories The hot sexual experiences were definitely throughout each story. The criminal elements of the biker gangs were another common thread. Yet if I were honest none of the short stories stuck out as being different from the next. I don't know what I anticipated but I started this set awhile ago and usually I can finished within a day. But something about this set didn't pull me in. Just like most boxed sets, they’re hit or miss. This one was mostly a miss. There were a couple of decent stories in here, and a lot of bad ones, but there was nothing outstanding about any of them. Don’t recommend.
