Pirates. Sexy pirates. Criminal, sexy pirates. Did I mention PIRATES?! If there’s one thing I love, its a cocky, demanding, dirty talking pirate - and boy did I get one in this book. This book was a surprise to me, while the synopsis drew me in, the cover did not. I was unsure what I was going to get - and boy am I glad that I didn’t judge it by its cover as I was first inclined to. If I had, I wouldn’t have met Ellie and Nick, two very memorable characters. Linda Barlow does a great job of Pirates. Sexy pirates. Criminal, sexy pirates. Did I mention PIRATES?! I was unsure what I was going to get - and boy am I glad that I didn’t judge it by its cover as I was first inclined to. If I had, I wouldn’t have met Ellie and Nick, two very memorable characters. Linda Barlow does a great job of blending the unsavory lifestyles of piracy with the history of artifacts, particularly focused on the missing treasure of Troy. I found it to be extremely interesting and not too over the top. Some books can get carried away on the backstory, but that wasn’t the case in this one and that really pleased me. Ellie Heath has a case of being in the wrong place at the wrong time. While vacationing in Turkey, she heads out to enjoy her love of photography and capture some beautiful early morning shots of the sunrise over the ocean. Never in her wildest dreams does she expect to be witness to a crime...or to photograph said crime. When she realizes the yacht at the dock is making an illegal exchange of artifacts, her ethics and morality overcome her sense of self preservation and she captures the entire exchange as quietly as possible. Unfortunately for her, she isn’t as stealthy as she might have hoped and the images on film aren’t the only thing that gets captured.. Nick can’t believe it when they pull the tiny, red-haired beauty from her hiding spot. This is the spy? While his client demands her life for her indiscretion, he cannot bring himself to do it. Instead, he takes her as his captive, determined to have his fill of her before her releases her safely. What he doesn’t count on, is her stubborn nature getting in the way of the things he orders her to do. Her refusal to obey him has him wondering about her will to live. Does she not see he is the one in control of her entire existence now? The harder she fights him, the more the chemistry between them builds and he finds it harder and harder to deny his attraction to her. Ellie is a fighter and I loved that about her. Despite the situation she is in and her ever growing attraction to Nick, the blond god, she stays true to herself and who she is. Realizing that they are about to encounter some very dangerous men, she agrees to Nick’s “slave training” of her. If the unscrupulous men believe that she is his slave and his alone, they will be less inclined to harm her. What she doesn’t count on, is her reaction to his dirty talking, his dominance over her. What kind of captive was she if she was starting to fall for her captor? The more time she spends with him, the more the two open up to each other. There is more to Nick than just a smuggler, he’s not just a modern day pirate and despite her better judgement - she wants to learn about the man underneath the criminal. The arrival of Nick’s villainous cousin is a game changer. The man is pure evil and his sights are set on Ellie. Can Nick keep his word and keep her safe until he can set her free? Will her training be believable, or will her stubborn, fiery nature ruin their plans? I loved this book, it had historical intrigue, mystery, a fast-paced plot...and pirates! A definite surprise read, and I’m glad I took a chance on it. Grab a copy of this book, you never know what you might uncover. xo Cassia deliciouslywickedbooks.com

The suspense in this book was literally killing me! I loved the story line and every thing that went with it. Ellie being in the wrong place at the wrong time, kidnapped and taken away. Nick being a thief and a badass. Nick & Ellie had this chemistry that was unbelievable. Their love story is unique. It's not boy meets girl, they fall in love, blah blah blah. No, this love story is new, fresh, and enticing. I recommend this book for an interesting and fresh new read! You won't regret it! The suspense in this book was literally killing me! This story is full of suspense, intrigue and some mild violence that keeps you on your toes till the very end. Young fiery Ellie is a photographer out taking pictures in Turkey and she ends up kidnapped by hot, hot Nick who is not a nice guy. She gets confused and wonders if the Stockholm Syndrome is effecting her. I really like Ellie for her strong stand she takes in standing up for herself even when her captor dominates her in all areas. This does cause issues when Nick wants her to be submissive. Nick’s character was written so well that I actually wanted to be his captive and not resist him. He showed compassion and cruel toughness in the blink of an eye. Honestly I just want him to be the good guy but you will have to read the book to see if I got my wish. I recommend this book for people who love intrigue, love, BDSM and can handle a little bit of roughness. To see the full review visit my blog: sportochicksmusings.blogspot.com

Nick and Ellie were one of the coolest couples that I have ever read about. Nick's character had the sexy hardass Dom with a soft side thing going for him. As this story unfolds, he became an onion. I was thinking that he was going to act one way, but no, he'd go a different way. Ellie, Ellie, Ellie. What are we to do with you, love? You're scared. No, you're not. You're angry. No, you're not. You want to get away from it all. No, you don't. She kept me on my toes and the pages turning. I read it straight through. There was one character that I wanted someone to catch his testicles in a bear trap, but that's neither here nor there. All of that rambling is to say this. Nick and Ellie's story was quite entertaining. There wasn't a whole lot of sex, so if that's what you're looking for, keep looking. There was an actual story here. It gave me, who, what, where, why and how. It was a certified page turner for me and it is a definite re-read. The main characters played well with the supporting characters and I grew a little crush for one. Take a chance on a shadowy read because it's by no means dark.

4 1/2 expectation fulfilling stars! Linda Barlow is completely new and I have to say I was hooked on wanting to read this from the blurb, so I was really happy that the book lived up to my expectations. I really enjoyed Uncover Me; it has a big mix of action, suspense, captivity, romance, knowledge, history and a story different to what I’ve come across lately. Which all when added into the pot make for great reading ingredients. This read a bit like old school romance with a side kick of kink and written in a very pleasing way indeed. I absolutely loved Ellie, she’s strong yet has vulnerabilities, she’s capable and determined but rational fears often hold her back. She finds herself having to act the submissive to Nick and his family but her Inner Monologue on many occasions had me grinning from ear to ear. Some of what she is subjected to errs towards dark-ish, but this reads for me very much on the lighter side of dark, I actually would have been happy if this had gone darker. Nick and Metin made for great Captors. Metin who is quietly in the background and Nick in his full on Captor/Master mode. He has you one minute wanting to kick him the gonads for what he does to Ellie and then has you wanting to cuddle him when you see a different side to him. And I cannot write a review without mentioning Nigel! Oh my as far as baddies go he makes a perfect one! Some might argue that the outcome is predictable and yeah it kinda is, but how Uncover Me panned out and got to the conclusion made for a very good read indeed. The text flowed, the plot flowed and I have to say for me it was definitely Ellie’s monologue that was main ingredient that sated me, her whole personality really, I really, really got Ellie ☺. I received a copy of Uncover Me in return for an honest review, my reviews are my own and are 100% honest.

Nick and Ellie were a great couple! He was trying to train her to be a slave, a submissive. I say trying, Ellie wasn’t a natural submissive!! She had a sassy mouth, particularly when she sussed out a few things about Nick. Nick, the unlikely hero. The bit that actually made me laugh (and probably the bit where all the female readers say dirty bastard lol) was what Nick did to Ellie while she was tied up!! Maybe I won’t be the only one to smile and say bullseye!! Throughout this book, when I thought I had worked out what was going on, the author threw a curve ball and took me by surprise! It was a very intelligently written story. Descriptive but not to the point of distraction. The author took me on a journey of intrigue, kidnapping, stolen artefacts, history, family feuds and threw in lots of twists and turns to keep me guessing until the end. I read this book in one sitting, it was THAT good. 5 stars from me.

3.5 stars. A nice little erotic, pirate fluff story. Lots of adventure, a hunky alpha male pirate hero and a spunky, mouthy heroine who just can't ignore those feelings in her lady bits when she sees her pirate, even though she wants to hate him. Don’t judge a book by its cover. This saying definitely applies to Linda Barlow’s UNCOVER ME. Who would expect a semi-dark modern day pirate romance when looking at this cover? Me definitely not! Usually one who DOES only read books with an appealing cover, I am really glad to have given Nick and Ellie a chance. Their story is different – refreshing – and I loved everything about it. This is the first book by Linda Barlow I’ve read, but I am sure it won’t be my last. Ellie Heath loves Turkey. She is there on a photographing mission when she accidentally stumbles upon an exchange. Of course she takes pictures of it – only to realize that she was witnessing a crime. But it’s too late. The criminals have already discovered her. Most of the men want her dead, but luckily one of them, Nick, decides to take her hostage on his yacht instead – as long as she submits to him completely in order to show her loyalty. But as soon as they arrive on a small and relatively unknown island everything changes. Ellie meets Nick’s villain – and it turns out that he might be an even greater threat to her life and safety than Nick… In order to survive Ellie needs to face her worst fears, which she does with bravery: She is strong and smart – determined to overrule her fear – and eventually her captivity. She definitely does not count on being rewarded with love – to no one less than her captor. Nick is sexy and possessive – and a criminal. But there’s so much more to him than the eyes can see. Nick’s layers are slowly being peeled back one by one – I thought I have finally figured him – out, only to be disabused shortly after. He is one amazing mysterious captor! I also need to mention two secondary characters: Metin, Nick’s right hand, who is sweet, always there when he is needed, quiet in the background – and Nigel, the villain. He is one perfect enemy: Purely evil, Linda definitely made sure for the readers to hate… no, to loathe him! I loved the way this story unfolds! I love when a storyline keeps me guessing until the very end – these little twists and turns are essential to become a five star read for me. As much as I love hot and passionate sex scenes – and this book definitely didn’t miss out on that – I don’t like when the storyline is only dawdling along to fit in bedroom scene after bedroom scene. This book has it all: passion and kink, action and suspense, history and knowledge, captivity and romance. Oh, not forget to mention an unusual setting with archeological digs in the Aegean Sea and modern day pirates who are smuggling artifacts linked with the legend of Troy. I’d really love to have this book turned into a series – if not for Nick’s and Ellie’s story, then for the historical background alone. If you are looking for a refreshing not too dark read with a lot of kink and a suspenseful creative storyline – modern day pirates!! – this book is for you! Highly recommended!

Ellie falls into Nick's hands when he catches her taking photos of him whilst making an illegal trade. Nick might have had better results with Ellie had he clued her in on everything that was happening and why he needed her, but lets be honest that would make for a rather short and boring story. So stumbling forward with plenty of misconceptions Ellie does her best to fight Nick at every turn. Struggling with what little she does know about what is happening Ellie does her best to play her new part clinging to the hope that Nick is telling the truth about letting her go when all is said and done. While this book has some BDSM themes to it, overall it was rather light. There was a scene written about a day that Nick put Ellie through training so that she would learn to follow his commands, which turned out to be a good thing for Ellie later on, but that was the biggest part of it. Overall I enjoyed it for what it was and that it didn't go over the top or get overly dark. 5 Stars for a story that kept me hooked with twist and surprises until the end!

Before she can get the hell out of there, she is caught. Nick can't believe that this little photographer stumbled upon his most recent exchange. While he won't kill her, he won't let her go either. He must move forward and finish his job which means that Ellie now has to come along for the ride. But the real catch is that is she wants to survive, she must submit to him 100%. OH. MY. GOD! I loved this book. LOVED! It is so different from anything that I have read recently and just very refreshing. It is a modern day pirate/captive romance with twists and turns and a whole lot of sexiness. Author Linda Barlow really kept me on my toes with this story. I never saw any of those twists coming and I could NOT stop reading because I was dying to know what happened next. It has adventure, suspense, a little bit of violence and moderate BDSM. And holy hell the sex and BDSM were hot! I highly recommend this book to, well, everyone truthfully. It was my first read by this author and I definitely plan on checking out her other work.

When photographer Ellie Heath stumbles upon criminal activity, she is kidnapped by the criminals. Modern-day pirates, to be exact. Smuggling artifacts and hiding it from Turkish authorities is one of the many hats our pirates had. There is also a glimpse into the sex trafficking for some pirates, causing a greater fear for Ellie and her life. Smart, witty and strong, Ellie will not give up on her fight for survival. But I warmed to him and his kinky ways. I just loved how the author peeled back the layers on Nick. Towards the end of the book I couldn’t get enough of him. He was a man on a mission and ,to me, he was like a foreign exotic creature. Archeological digs, pirates, and adventure is what you’ll be in for. Oh and did I mention the kink? I really enjoyed reading this book. Linda Barlow took me for this crazy ride and there are no complaints on my end. The writing style was great, descriptive in all the right spots. The story gives both Ellie and Nick’s point of view, which I love. The relationship between the two is different. Desperation to get away from the felons is a constant with Ellie, and well Nick too has something up his sleeve. Just when I thought I knew what was going on, I was blown away. I like to dive into a book and get lost in the storyline and Linda did a great job. 4 smooches for Uncover Me by Linda Barlow. Sarah

3.5 STARS! I liked this book. It was full of action, suspense, drama, romance, and one sexy kidnapper who is going to get the ultimate prize- the girl. Will she and Nick get their happy ending? I liked Ellie. I thought even though she was presented with crappy circumstances, she did not just take it and actually stood up for herself. I also found it intriguing when she was battling what she felt for Nick. I also like seeing her battle personal demons and make them he bitch, ha! ;) I liked Nick well enough- he is the antihero you want to hate but just can't is what I thought of him. I recommend this book to readers who loved suspense with a splash of romance! :) Blog Tour---> http://reneeentress.blogspot.com/2014...

This book was confusing for me for the first chapter. I will not lie, I just was not feeling this book. Then all of a sudden, BAM! I did not want to put it down. Barlow blended and weaved in history, artifacts, and archaeology. It almost reminds me of Indiana Jones. Nothing over the top, just the right amount. The next morning, she notices a beautiful sunrise. While taking pictures, she notices a handsome looking thing, but upon further inspections, she realizes it's actually a crime happening before her eyes. Bless her heart though, she's not as sneaky as she thought though. Nick is stunned when he first sees Ellie. His client demands that he end her life, but Nick cannot bring himself to do it. Ellie becomes his captive instead. This is all done to help save her life. They both must convince others that Ellie is Nick's sex slave. However, these two actually do have some great chemistry I really enjoyed this book once I got past the first few chapters. There is some history and a lot of mystery. The book has a good pace. It is told from both Ellie and Nick's point of view. Like I said before, this was a book I did not want to put down. ~Jade

Well written and edited stand-alone book with no cliffhangers. 3.5 stars, rounded up. This is a romantic suspense with a very complex storyline, honestly, probably too complex, but I still enjoyed the ride. Those elements are the reasons I enjoyed the story. From the beginning, readers of BDSM fiction will note that the BDSM elements are unusual. This aspect of the story is the weakest, both because of the timeline and because it's just really not erotic. There are very erotic parts of the story, but they don't really involve BDSM. If these elements had been handled more consistently, this would have been a 4-star story for me. Recommended to fans of hot pirates, Greek and Turkish history and romantic suspense.

***I received the book for free through Goodreads First Reads*** I really enjoyed this book. Not only was it very hot, but suspenseful as well. I really enjoy a book that not only encompasses hot sex/romance, but also mystery, suspense and intrigue as well. The book also talks about major issues going on in our world now, which is significant, such as art/history/cultural theft and human trafficking. All in all, would definitely recommend this book and have added a new author to keep an eye out for future books. Cannot wait to read something else from Linda Barlow.

I found this book by accident but that blurb pulled me in...nothing sexier than a hot, dangerous modern day pirate and a woman who was caught in the wrong place at the wrong time. It was exciting, passionate and full of interesting facts about illegal artifacts and smuggling which gave the story an almost realistic feel to it, but filled with a lot of sexual tension as well. Nick was much more than he was portrayed to be and Ellie was not quite "forced" to submit in the way the description leads us to believe. I really enjoyed the intrigue, romance and unexpected twists to the story and would definitely want to read more form this author. **** 4 **** "he owns the biggest treasure of them all" stars

I was hesitant reading this storyline and almost DNF it. I'm not into the whole kidnapped love relationship thing. It kinda creeps me out but I stuck with it. 3.5 Stars I enjoyed this story but was not able to connect with the characters. The book contains plenty of suspense and drama which I love. I received an ARC eBook in exchange for an honest review. This is the first book I have read by Linda Barlow and it won't be my last! This romantic suspense was filled with adventure, action, a touch of BDSM and lots of romantic passion! Ellie is a heroine that has to face her fears to survive and is rewarded with finding a beautifully flawed hero to love. Nick is the total package: sexy, strong, passionate and just the right amount of possessive! Yes, there is some profanity (lots of f-bombs), I received an ARC eBook in exchange for an honest review. I just had to find out what would happen next!

Great adventure story! On her way to take photographs of the ruins of ancient Troy Ellie is kidnapped by Nick, who she thinks is a smuggler. Mystery, intrigue, and Love The story was a little slow at first but once Ellie and Nick reached the Island I was hooked. I figured Nick was not all bad but didn't know to what degree he would actually go to protect his Grandfather and Ellie. The author was able to draw you into Ellie's fears and make you feel the conflict in her reactions to Nick. I highly recommend this story.
