Dream rhymes are catchy and clever, but some pages have as much as sixteen lines of verse making it difficult for younger children to follow and understand the story line. Illustrations are vibrant and well-done, but the text font size is rather small. This book is not intended as a first introduction to colors; parents looking for a toddler learning guide might be disappointed, but older children and beginning readers will appreciate the author's efforts and intent.

Partially rhyming text and pleasingly color-focused images make Hilly Colors Her Dreams a fun book to share with any child just learning the pleasures of story and color. Hilly’s dreams are told in simple two-page spreads, each with big bright pictures. From strange green babies to red dragons and white snow, the dreams are all fun, and each end with the morning, when it's time to get up. Disclosure: I bought it on a deal.

Very wordy. The illustrations are great. But the book is extremely wordy. It does not read well on the kindle because the words are so small. With this being a children's book, the words should be much larger. I was bored after the first page. It's written in poetry format (I love poetry) but it did not work for the book. Glad the book was free. Very wordy. The illustrations are great. But the book is extremely wordy. It does not read well on the kindle because the words are so small. The idea for this story was delightful. Every night the little girl, Hilly, dreams in a new color. At the end, the meanings of colors, as they relate to chakras, are explained. “The story articulates the wonders of Guided Affective Imagery and is based on the seven main wheels of energy (Chakras). Children reading this story or listening to it, sail away with their imagination into an expanse of colors from which they create an enchanted emotional world, filled with inner serenity and tranquility The idea for this story was delightful. Hilly was a dynamic character in her imagined adventures. Unfortunately, Raz-Nave made a common mistake of trying to write in rhyme. As a result, the prose jerks along distracting the reader from the story. There were also far too many words on a page. If Raz-Nave removed the rhyming, the work would flow much better.

Indeed, children are precious and very sensitive little people with their own unique personalities. What a great story providing tools for kids to explore and process their delicate feelings. There are so many cute and colorful illustrations. Learning to identify colors is important and incorporating each color with a story is very exciting. The author is a holistic therapist and has written about a girl named Hilly who dreams in different colors every night. It's a great, unique bedtime story but I'm a bit disappointed in associating colors with the wheel of energy known as Chakras. Just my opinion but I don't think all kids need an eastern approach to appreciating the beauty and vibrancy of colors. Overall, children will enjoy the book.

Hilly Colors Her Dreams by Meytal Raz-Nave and illustrated by Shany Golan is a beautiful book about a little girl, Hilly, who loves the dreams she experiences at night. Morning certainly comes too soon for Hilly as she dreams in all sorts of colours and about all sorts of things. She dreams about dragons and the milk man within all sorts of great scenes. The illustrations are beautiful and all children are certain to enjoy it. At the end of the book, it gives a little bit more information about Hilly Colors Her Dreams by Meytal Raz-Nave and illustrated by Shany Golan is a beautiful book about a little girl, Hilly, who loves the dreams she experiences at night. A very nicely illustrated story about accepting and learning about colors with Chakra --- a wonderful way of introducing colors and meaning of them! Hilly is so very cute ---you just have to adore her!
