I had an urge to fix all her problems. Which was stupid. She was doing fine without me. In fact, he rarely visits his father’s rarefied world in Rosemary Beach, especially if it means bunking at his vile half-sister Nan’s house—until one visit leads to a chance encounter with a young, gorgeous house maid who awakens him with her off-key but spirited imitation of a country music star… Reese Ellis finally has her freedom. After escaping a lifetime of abuse from her parents and classmates for an undiagnosed learning disorder, she seizes the opportunity to be a house maid to some of the richest families in Rosemary Beach. But her job is in jeopardy when she causes an accident at the home of her most important client, Nan Dillon. When a hot, half-naked stranger with a cowboy’s swagger comes to her rescue, she’s intrigued—then afraid once he shows his own interest. Reese has never met a trustworthy man in her life. Will Mase be any different?

4 stars! If you’ve read Abbi Glines Rosemary Beach series, then you know Mase Colt-Manning. And you’ve probably been like me and impatiently waiting for his book for a while now. If you’ve read Abbi Glines Rosemary Beach series, then you know Mase Colt-Manning. And you’ve probably been like me and impatiently waiting for his book for a while now. We meet this cowboy who happens to be Harlow Manning’s older brother in several of the previous books. Mase is Kiro Mannings son, but he didn’t grow up like Harlow or Rush Findlay. Mase’s mom and stepdad kept him grounded. They kept him on a ranch in Texas and he’s grown into a sexy cowboy. Mase finds himself in Rosemary Beach to visit is sister. And there he meets a girl…. Reese Ellis hasn’t had an easy life. In fact, it’s been very difficult. She’s been abused, she has a learning disability, and although she’s extraordinarily beautiful, she doesn’t let anyone close to her. Especially men. Reese has a fresh start in RB. She has a close friend, Jimmy, and she is cleaning houses. Life is good. Better than it’s been in a long time. Then she meets Mase. And her world is rocked. Mase has a bit of a savior complex. Not just with women, with everyone. He is just that type of guy. A fixer. I get it- I’m one too. One of those people who sees problems and tries to tackle them. He doesn’t see Reese as ‘having problems’ necessarily, but he does see her as a woman who needs someone in her life. He does what he can to help her move on from her past, and also with her learning disability. He’s there for her in ways no one has ever been before. He is patient with her, he’s understanding. He shows her that it’s okay to be her. She’s perfectly flawed- not broken. She needed me. Hell, she just needed somebody. And fuck if I didn’t want to be here to help her. “Mase Colt-Manning fights for those he loves. It’s what he does. And I know he tried to fight for you. He wanted to conquer your battles.” Reese was a heroine who had issues, but she worked so hard to overcome them. I’m in awe of some peoples strength. To go through the things she went through and be able to trust again is really something. Reese is strong, determined, honest, and she’s also sweet and innocent. She was a perfect match for someone like Mase. He deserves that type of girl. I enjoyed watching Reese and Mase’s relationship grow. I love seeing something that starts as instant attraction, and instead of going all sexy and instalove, seeing it go to friendship first. I liked the way this one ended. There was a cliffhanger, but not an OMG whats happening cliffy, more like I’m intrigued to know more. I will most definitely be picking up the next book in this series when it’s released. I recommend this to all Rosemary Beach fans. It’s a great addition to the series.

LIVE on AMAZON First you should know one thing about me, I am a huge Abbi Glines fan. I absolutely love her books and these characters, at this point I feel like I know these characters. Mason is Harlow and Nan’s brother, but he didn’t grow up in the limelight. He grew up in Texas with his mother. However, he is very close to his sister Harlow. He is in town staying at Nan’s house, visiting Harlow when he meets Reese. Reese moved to Rosemary Beach to escape her abusive past. So she is new in town, has no family or friends and is working as a housekeeper. She is cleaning Nan’s house when she is interrupted by Mason. Surprised by Mason’s arrival she is injures herself. I let him help me, because I was sure it was the last I’d see this man. He didn’t realize it, but he’d given me hope. And he’d shown me that not all men were evil. Reese isn’t your typical heroine. In my opinion, she is one of the most complex characters Abbi has introduced. Reese is a beautiful girl and while most people wouldn’t see that as a flaw, but it led to years of abuse for her. Up until the point she escaped her mother’s home she was sexually abused by her stepfather, so she doesn’t trust easily. As if that isn’t bad enough she is dyslexic and while that is something that can definitely be overcome no one ever worked with her, instead they brushed it off and called her names. For years, Reese has believed she is intellectually challenged. She doesn’t understand she has a learning disability and needs help. Mason is completely charming and definitely a white knight. He is seriously so fantastic, I loved Mason! A lot of characters have some issues, but I can’t find one in Mason. He is completely protective, but gentle with Reese. He is absolutely what Reese needs. My favorite thing is once he falls, he falls. It didn’t matter if Reese was interested he was invested in helping her regardless. “Mase Colt Manning fights for those he loves. It’s what he does. And I know he tried to fight for you. He wanted to conquer your battles.” Reese completely broke and stole my heart. She has overcome so many things and is such a strong character. Most people would have given up after experiencing the things Reese lived through, but she is a survivor. She wanted to overcome her dyslexia and all her other issues, she wanted to move on from her negative past. A lot of people blame others for their short comings and it would be completely understandable given the things she lived through. But Reese doesn’t want to place blame she wants to overcome. Her strength and determination was inspiring. The connection between Reese and Mason was lovely, real and beautiful. I absolutely loved their moments together. I love how this wasn’t a case of insta-love, but the two of them actually got to know each other. As I said I love Abbi’s writing, but this story just felt like more to me. I highly recommend this story if you are a fan of the Rosemary Beach Series. As I said I am huge Abbi fan, so if you have not read this series, I obviously highly recommend it! There was a worshipful look on his face that made me feel cherished. Important, Protected. ARC kindly provided in exchange for an honest review.

If you’re a fan of the Rosemary Beach series, you’ll probably met Mase before, I advise to read this book, you’re not going to regret it. Abbi Glines writes pretty well, but if you’re looking for originality you can’t find it in her books. Her writing formula is normally the same for all her books, but if you like said formula (and I do) her predictability can be a very good thing. So, if you want to read steamy and romantic stories with sexy heroes, give this book a try. Rating: 4 Stars, Characters Development: I liked Mase, I’ve already liked him in the previous books, especially his “take so s**t attitude”. It was nice to see a sexy and soft side to him. Reese wasn’t bad… but she wasn’t great either. She had pretty much no personality at all, except crying a lot. It was nice to see more of the rest of the gang. Steam: Hot. I haven't read an Abbi Glines book in two years. *Gasp!* After book 5 in this series, Twisted Perfection, (which I loved) I took a break and never found my way back. Mostly because of queen bitch Nan. This character is so bad she makes you want to bring a fictional character to life just to stab or incinerate into dusty ashes never to be seen again. Anyone who's read this series knows what I'm talking about. And don't even pretend she never made you feel unbalanced with hate. Not only was I was happy to find myself intrigued by cowboy Mase, I reveled in the trip back to the Rosemary Beach gang. Though, admittedly with a little trepidation. I was worried I might be a little lost since I've lost track of all the characters during my AG vacay, but surprisingly, I managed to muddle through just fine. And the Nan factor made me nervous, but my curiosity got the better of me. I'm pleased to say that it was worth the risk. Although Nan was up to her old tricks, she was out of town for the majority of the book. So the urge to kill didn't have much time to take root. Distance really does make the heart grow fonder, so just stay away, Nan. PLEASE. Mase is Harlow's brother from Texas who is temporarily staying at his half-sister Nan's house. I honestly couldn't find a fault with the guy. He was the biggest sweetheart willing to do anything to right every wrong in Reese's life from day one. "Why?" she asked. "Why what?" "Why do you want to help me?" I didn't even pause. "Because you're worth helping." He's one of those types that knows his own mind and when he encounters Reese cleaning Nan's house singing horribly off-key, he's completely charmed and drawn to her. Unknown protective instincts kick right in and he finds himself acting in ways he's never acted before. He was referred to as "alpha" by his sister in the book, but that's not what I got from him at all. He was more of a beta hero but with a really potent dirty mouth. The best of both worlds, guys. "Please, baby. Let me take care of that pussy. It's so wet I can smell you, Reese. It's driving me crazy. I'll even kiss it if you'll let me. Anything, baby. I'll do anything for you. Fucking anything." He sounded desperate. Mase had to take his time with her because she's scarred terribly from abuse she endured growing up. She also grew up with absolutely no love or encouragement from her mother or stepfather so she doesn't know what it's like to have real love and support. As if that weren't enough, she has a learning disability that was never diagnosed and caused her to be bullied (even by her family). So she's a pretty fragile girl, a veritable minefield. But Mase is up for the challenge. Surprisingly, with all of the heroine's issues, I didn't feel that she was a weak heroine or whiny in any way. I really enjoyed her character. Despite all of the hardship she endured, she isn't bitter or angry at the world either. When she escaped her family and came to Rosemary Beach, she was starting a new page. She just wanted a little peace and solitude and a way to live a normal life. I looked at her as someone with courage, strength, and honesty. Mase was the perfect match for her, I thought. I loved seeing him slowly bring her out of her shell and help her feel confident about herself while awakening her sexuality. It took him a while to get past her fears and issues, but once he did, they were incredible together. They had heat, passion, and tenderness. Sweet and spicy all in one delectable package. So why rate it 3.5 you're wondering? I was originally going to give this 4 stars because it really was a pleasantly enjoyable read. I connected with both MC's and never felt bored with the story. But as I started the review and going over my thoughts, I felt like their feelings were a bit rushed for my taste. It was somewhat insta-love-ish, but he didn't declare the "L word" or even think it for a reasonable amount of time. They just become quite obsessed and attached to each other pretty quickly so I would have liked to have seen more groundwork done on the progression of their feelings. Another thing was that with all of Reese's issues, the conflicts were pretty minimal. Everything ran smooth and easy-a little too easy. And when the big conflict came toward the end, that could have been easily avoided with some simple communication. I would recommend this book to anyone looking for a fast paced story with a sweet and sexy cowboy that's fairly light despite some of the serious subject matter addressed. Even if you hadn't read any others from the series, you could probably manage this one just fine without much confusion. And if you have read some of the other books and you're hesitating because of Nan, it's really not an issue in this book. She didn't ruin the story for me whatsoever. With the ending left in a bit of a cliffy, (nothing too stressful. Just unanswered questions) I'm pretty sold on continuing on in the next book. FOLLOW SMOKIN HOT BOOK BLOG ON:

Okay, I have to admit, I've never been a big fan of Mase's...but AG managed to win me over. I think it had to do with the fact that I felt Mase is more of a young Kristen Ashley Alpha. He definitely had the moves and he just says the sweetest things especially with his "gottalickthatfreckle-itis". Reese's story really pulls at your heart strings...and how could you not pull for her? She's had it rough and her self esteem is low, low, low. Reese's story really pulls at your heart strings...and how could you not pull for her? She's had it rough and her self esteem is low, low, low. I loved how much Mase was able to help her but I especially liked how much Reese wanted...and did do for herself. The problem is Reese's lack of experience. She misses a lot of the subtle clues and signs, again, a lot of this is due to her low self esteem and always thinking the worse. I have to hand it to Mase, again, with how well he handled Reese sexually. He took it slow and OMG, the things he said to her. Gotta love that! And thank goodness for getting his POV as well! For the most part, I enjoyed catching up with all the other characters from Rosemary Beach...even if it was primarily the women. I loved the small scene with Nate. (“B’whoa it up. Like dis.”) He's a lady killer already! The big rotten tomato is still the Wicked Witch...how is this even possible? I've just decided to give up on her. I had thought after what she did for Harlow that she might be turning around...just a little but that was blown out of the basket. I have no idea what AG has planned. I certainly hope it's not with Captain (his book is after the second Mase/Reese book and Nan's is after his). I just really feel there's no way she can be redeemed at this point and I'm not sure I can read a whole book devoted to her. Anyway, there's lots of other drama going on in this book...with another female. I really can't fault Reese for feeling the way she did but my heart went out to Mase. I don't know how he was able to walk away. One thing's for sure....you gotta love Mamas! Mom's always know best and they take care of their kids, no matter how old! And that ending? Definite cliffhanger...but it will be interesting to see how that comes into play. Favorite quotes: ♥ “Right there. That is. Bull. Shit,” he called after me. “Woman bullshit. Seen it. Know it.” ♥ "Best fucking freckle in the world,” he said in a thick, deep voice." ♥ “You bring the hate on yourself, Nan. Stop being a bitch.” (Best advice ever!) ♥ “Don’t care how many mistakes are in it, Reese. It would be from you. That’s all that matters,” I told her. She made a soft little sigh. “You say the sweetest things.” ♥ " You were the best thing I’ll ever do in this life. I can’t top creating you." ♥ “Every step I’ve taken in life has led me to you.” ♥ "Show me what love is like. Please." ♦ BR w/Melissa & Tiff

Mace is well known for his protectiveness to those he love. Reese is a girl who've been through hell. She has a lot of demons to fight. She's fighting the obstacles life throw at her. She had to believe in herself when no one did but she didn't have that special person who will believe in her first. Reece cleans up houses for a living. She makes a good living for rent and food. When Reece and Mace first meet...LOL! After thirty hours straight with no sleep, I was being awakened by bad singing and a motherfucking vacuum? They become friends and Mace is the first person who actually cared about her. I loved how they first started out as friends then became something more. It wasn't inst-love which I hate. If you know me you know that I don't believe in that bullshit, but those two were made for each other. “I knew you’d be sweet. But damn, baby, you taste like my own little heaven.” At first Reese didn't know why he was being nice to her. She haven't had anybody who was willing to be nice to her (until of course Jimmy. Loved him!) “Why?” she asked “Why what?” “Why do you want to help me?” I didn’t even pause. “Because you’re worth helping." Mace saw real perfection that others didn't see in Reece. She might believe that she's broken and stupid but she's not. She's perfect in every way. “You are perfect. So perfect that you take my breath away. I’m completely obsessed with you. You’re all I see anymore, Reese. Nothing about you is broken.” Really enjoyed Mace but the only problem I had was that this book doesn't have all that much action and a shocking ending. The ending didn't make me cry, laugh, or scream. I'm not eager to the point that I count down the months, days, hours, and seconds to the release date, but good enough to wanna read it when it gets published. BTW I loved his obsession over the freckle on her ass cheek I found it pretty cute. I was being given a view of her ass and that freckle. My freckle. I loved that freckle.

It was risky, but it worked. I liked Reese, she had an innocence about her that was a complete contradiction from her roots. Her struggles created a truly unique character, one that was easy to root for. But, if I'm going to be completely honest, she also frustrated me. Sometimes I guess I wish I could have seen more of her strength instead of her helplessness. I don't mean to sound like a heartless douche, but it often made her appear a little codependent. However, that particular aspect of her character is what made it necessary for her to need a hero. Enters hero. Mase. Mase made this story. Mase was the hero. The evolution of his relationship with Reese was paced to perfection, an instant attraction that was followed by kindness, protection, and love. You took the time that the relationship needed, just as Mase took his time with Reese. The intimate moments between the two of them just might be the best scenes you have ever written. They were moments of patience and tenderness. They were beautiful. Mase rescued Reese in every sense of the word. Did I mention that I love Mase? I also have to applaud you by "going there". You always have at least one scene in every book that leaves me blushing. A scene that goes....there. Reese's naivety set the perfect stage to take it there in When I'm Gone, and you did. You know....on the couch. When she asks....and he. And then she, and he....and she winks. That part. Yeah. Wow. Only you. Overall, this was definitely one of my favorites in the Rosemary Beach series. I really loved Mase and Reese's story, but part of me wishes that it would have just ended in the apartment, a HEA. I had closure and felt the story was complete. I'm a little indifferent about the cliffy. However, I am not indifferent about more Mase. The world needs more Mase. That is all...for now. I honestly think Mase and Nan are in this story..... Update: the reason I think this is because there is no one left to pair and I also think a guy like Mase that doesn't take shitc could control Nan. I mean, in some level I think nan needs someone who never puts her second. A boyfriend, someone who genuinely loves her, no matter who comes. And i think if this happens, it will be a test to see if nan can truly be redeemed. I like her, she's a bitch but I understand why she is the way she is. Sporting one admirable alpha hero, with one undeniable protective streak, When I’m Gone will leave you with the feeling that every heroine, no matter how desperate and down on her luck, is just one hero away from having all her problems solved. Further complementing this happy romance is a solid performance by both Grace Grant and Jason Carpenter. Two items of caution: First, while the romance is happy, the heroine’s background is not. In fact, as a teenager she is subject to some pretty serious physical and mental abuse at the hands of her step-father and mother, some of which is painfully described at the beginning of the book. Therefore, if this is a trigger for you, this may not be the right listen for you. Second, When I’m Gone is the eleventh book in the Rosemary Beach Series by Abbi Glines. Although most contemporary romance series function perfectly fine as standalones, as you can imagine, after such a large number of books, quite an intricate web of relationships and prior experiences necessarily color the tight community and Manning family which features so prominently in this series. Therefore, while not absolutely necessary (because enough of the background is briefly summarized) I will note that since I had not listened to the prior books in the series, I did feel a little bit at a loss in a number of the passages that featured a strong influence by previously introduced characters. I honestly would be sad when this series comes to an end because each and every character of the Rosemary Beach gang have a special place in my heart even Nan. When I'm Gone is Mason Colt-Manning story. The half brother of Harlow and Nan is finally getting his story told and what a beautiful and touching story it is. Mase, is the brother who didn't grew up with his rock star father or in the Hollywood limelight. He was raised by his mother and his stepfather in Texas. You could say he is a true country boy with his cowboy boots and rugged look. But one thing is for certain, Mase is a good man with a beautiful giving heart. Reese Ellis is not your typical heroine. She is a beautiful young woman who is a survivor and fighter. There is nothing weak about her because she is a woman who is still learning to survive from her dark past. And when she moves to Rosemary Beach to escape and start anew, she didn't realize that her hero would be Mase Colt-Manning. Right off the initial meeting, Mase was drawn to the beautiful, intriguing and down to earth Reese. He couldn't help himself but he wanted to be the one to help her. And when Reese opened up to Mase on one of her secrets of a learning disability, Mase was a true book boyfriend. He was everything you would want and much more. He didn't care about the cost but he made sure Reese got the top of notch learning specialist to help her. That beautiful grand gesture pulled all the heart-strings and captured my heart. From then on, I was absolutely smitten and in love with Mase Colt-Manning. Mase and Reese beautiful journey as friends to lovers was breathtakingly heartfelt. It was the little things that he did that gave me the warm fuzzies. I loved how Abbi showed her readers a relationship that bloomed into LOVE. It was the act of giving, sacrificing, and friendship that will steal the hearts of her readers. What I especially loved about this book was that Mase didn't see Reese as a broken woman with a terrible past but a woman who is strong, resilient and beautiful inside and out. He took his time to allow Reese see that she is worth fighting for and worthy of love. They say LOVE HEALS. And Mase's love was pure, real, and healing. When I'm Gone is an emotional, sincere, profound, warming and raw story of friendship, family, love, and healing. Abbi Glines did another amazing job in writing this touching and beautiful story. Mason and Reese's journey from friends to lovers is a story that must be read and experience. Be prepared to have your hearts captured. Forget book boyfriend because Mase Colt-Manning is book husband material. Review can also be found on Four Chicks Flipping Pages: http://fourchicksflippingpages.weebly... Abbi Glines

I finally read Mase's book! And it was everything that I wanted for him. I didn't realise that Reese was the girl that I waited for to match with Mase. She was strong despite her dark past and I admire her for that. It took some time for her to put her trust in Mase, but it was a great journey to read about. There was a tiny cliffhanger at the end, when "someone" showed up on Reese's apartment door. So I hope the second book about Mase and Reese is good as this one. They are BLOOD-RELATED. So unless Abbi doesn't change Nan's father again, it will be incest. Not the kind of story I wish for Mase. From what I have seen of him in Harlow and Grant's book, he is the kind of big brother that everyone wants to have; loving, caring and protective. I want a girl that is worthy of him and that one is not Nan.

Ah finally. After a disaster ead for sea breeze, i pick ip When I' m Gone. Miss Glines have a knack to bring up a hero that is worthy of swooning. And Mace is no exception. And for Reese, it took a while for her to grow at me, but finally she did. The story is much simpler that the previous book in the series. 5 Tragic Stars Mase Colt-Manning & Reese Ellis When we are first introduced to Mase, I admit I swooned. He is like the best big brother ever. And he was soooo protective... I just loved that. So when we meet Reese and her past is haunting I was so glad she get Mase as a love interest if anyone deserves to have someone protect her its Reese. Being a rock stars offspring isn’t easy but I don’t get the feeling Mase ever let it bother him too much, he has a great Momma and he has a great stepdad. The way she meets Mase was funny and makes me smile even now. I can understand her a lot in this book how she struggled to trust. She hasn’t known kindness, so she doesn’t know how to act. This book is a great addition to this series. These cliff-hangers though.. even the second time around and knowing I can go right into the next book.. I still want to shake my fist at Abbi. Lmao..

TSU: http://www.tsu.co/HopelessRomantics Blog: http://thehopelessromanticsbookblog.b... Whenever Abbi Glines brings out a Rosemary Beach novel, I have to click... I mean how could I not. After all those books are like coming home for me and the minute I turn the first page, I melt into a comfort, familiarity and warmth you only get when you walk through your own front door. Not many authors have the ability to do that and do it well but Abbi Glines has it down to a fine art. Since the series first started way back when, I've been addicted and now that we're on book 11 ... yup 11 (where does time fly?) I have my feet firmly placed under the table. I know the town like the back of my hand, the characters are like my best buddies and their stories... well their stories are firmly lodged in my heart. I remember each and every one of the couples journeys to finding their HEA's. The love stories born from tragedies, the heroes I wanted to sing and dance about and the heroines (although broken), much stronger than they thought. And "When I'm Gone" fit perfectly into what I grown to expect and love from this series. I should never have loved. I wasn't meant to love or be loved. This was a lesson I should have learned by now. From the minute I was introduced to Mace, I wanted his story and as soon as the blurb and teasers for it were released, I was itching at the bits to get my hands on his book. With a hard hitting prologue, I knew exactly where this story was going to go and I was excited. I was so right. Reese and Mace's journey to happiness was perfection. It was brilliant. It was heart warming but (as always) it was also soul destroying at times too. There were moments where a lump formed in my throat from what I was reading and yes there were tears at the unjustness of some of the situations the characters found themselves in. However, on the most part, I found myself grinning like a cheshire cat and even laughing at what unfolded before me. "I want you to see yourself the way I do. The breathtaking beauty who has me so completely fascinated. She's a fighter. She's strong. She's fun, and she's kind and honest. She does't judge others. She accepts people for who they are. She doesn't expect anything but gives beauty to the world around her freely. That is who I see, Reese. That is who you are. See that too, sweetheart. Please see that too." Mace's character was just a dreamboat... a dreamboat in a stetson and cowboy boots (fans self). A dreamboat who said the most beautiful, heart felt, honest, right things with perfect timing. Add to that his alphamaleness and his need to claim and protect "his" woman and I was in book boyfriend heaven. Of course he was going to fight his ever growing feelings for Reese but there was just something in the Rosemary beach water that made the men do crazy, romantic, beautiful things and so I knew his efforts were pointless. Reese Ellis was his. It was just going to take a little while for his head to catch up with his heart. The need to protect her had grown into something fierce and possessive inside me. I thought of her all the time, and all I could think was that I wanted her safe. I wanted her with me. I didn't want anyone else touching her or comforting her. Just me. And Reese... beautiful, complicated Reese... god did my heart go out to her. With a past she was trying to come to terms with and a whole host of problems that made everyday living seem like an uphill struggle, it was difficult not to be affected by her character. Reese and Mace's relationship developed perfectly. It wasn't instalove which I'm thankful for but instead a bond that grew in strength as the days went by. With a natural instinct to care and protect, Mace was ideal boyfriend material for Reese. Unfortunately she had a whole host of hurdles to overcome before things progressed between the couple.... but hey I could wait because I knew it would be worth it. It always is in Rosemary Beach. “Mase Colt Manning fights for those he loves. It’s what he does. And I know he tried to fight for you. He wanted to conquer your battles.” I loved catching up with the Rosemary Beach gang except of course Nan who continued to grate on my every nerve. Would she never learn? I really had hoped to see a change in her character after the events at the end of Harlow and Grant's story but I guess that was wishful thinking on my part. Someone that I really am hoping gets his own book though and who has been playing bigger parts and as I've progressed through the series is Jimmy. He played such a pivotal role in "When I'm Gone" and I am desperate to get his story. He's been there from the start, a hopeless romantic who has rooted for each and every girl to get her man. I just hope he gets his HEA soon too. All in all another amazing addition to the Rosemary Beach series and although this book didn't end on a cliffy as such (not the likes we're used to anyway), we are getting a second instalment to Mace and Reece's story and I cannot wait. I rated "When I'm Gone" ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ "Why?" She asked. "Why what?" "Why do you want to help me?" I didn't even pause. "Because you're worth helping."

4 stars!**** It took me a while to read this book. One of the reasons was that I wanted to wait until the conclusion was out and the main reason was that I was still gutted from reading Kiro's Emily. That book cut me open and I since Mase is his son I feared (and hoped) that there will be a lot of Kiro in this book. But once I started reading I wondered why I waited so long! It was great. Maybe because I had no exceptations and didn't really care about Mase. I'm still not #crushinghard on him, but 4 stars!**** It took me a while to read this book. Maybe because I had no exceptations and didn't really care about Mase. I'm still not #crushinghard on him, but he's gained my respect and I'd be happy if I had a brother like him. Mason is Kiro's son, but grew up with his mother and stepfather in Texas on a ranch. He's overprotective of his family. He's proud, strong and his father's fame didn't affect him in any way. Reese had a bad childhood. Her mother was a bitch and her father used to beat her and then moved on to even worse things. Even before that she had rough times. She's dyslexic but no one cared enough to give it a label except the one that says "stupid". And the cherry on top? When her mother found out, she didn't try to help her, didn't started calling cops on her husband.. No, she started hitting Reece and threw her out of the house. Which might be the best thing she had ever done for her. Couple of years later she lives in Rosemary Beach cleaning houses. She and Mase meet when he's visiting his sis Harlow. She cleans both Nan's house where he stays and the one where Harlow with Grant lives. They keep meeting and she wakes something inside of him. His protectiveness. Why her? Why was she affecting me like this? I had seen hot bodies before and gorgeous smiles. It was more than her outward appearance. Beautiful women only interested me for one thing. Reese had reached something else inside of me and squeezed it tight, from the moment I ran into the room and found her sitting on the floor surrounded by broken glass. It's not long and the sleeping bear that sleeps inside of Mason wakes up in a full force. She's his and he's gonna do anything that will ensure that she'll know it too. I was giving you time. You seemed skittish. I didn’t want to push you. But if you’re going on a date with someone, it’s gonna be me, Reese. Not fucking playboy Thad. I really enjoyed this one. It wasn't my favourite of the series (because nothing can beat Rush's and Blaire's story), but it was pretty close. I liked how their relationship prgressed slowly but surely. They started out as friends and later on it evolved into something much more. The way Mason took care of her and how he made her feel safe was satisfying to read. He didn't rush her and they took their time in sexy times until she was ready. I’m going to wash it all away. I swear to God, I am, Reese. One day, all you will see or remember is me and what we feel like together. I swear. Sometimes I was bit annoyed with Reese's good two shoes attitude. She accidetaly broke a mirror and injured herself and she insisted that she's fine and blahblahblah. And guess what it needed five stitches. Yeah. Completely fine. And she jumped to conlusions way too fast and believed basically everything people said. When Nan told her she wants 5000 dollars for it, she went and gave her all of her savings. Who does that without checking it really cost that much? I love you. I won’t leave. I’m here to make you take me back. I’m empty without you. That particular quote is said by Reese after she jumped to conlusion once again. Rush was there. Thad was there. Grant was there. Jimmy was there. Nan was there. Woods was there for a while too. All the familiar faces were there and I loved seeing them again. It was like a reunion after long time. The ending was a cliffhanger but not a bad one. But I'm still going to read the next one. Hell, I think that if Abbi Glines wrote a book that consisted only of her shopping lists I'd read it too. For more reviews visit my blog.

I don't care if there were parts in When I'm Gone that were predictable because I just love (love, love, love) Reese and Mase together, the Rosemary Beach series and the other characters in it. It is nice to go back from time to time to a setting/world that I love, seeing the other characters from the previous books interacting and knowing what there life is now after their particular books have ended. It is nice to go back from time to time to a setting/world that I love, seeing the other characters from the previous books interacting and knowing what there life is now after their particular books have ended. If I have to compare it to the Sea Breeze series, I have to say that the story lines and characters in RB series are more complicated and has more depth than SB. I'm not saying that I didn't enjoy my time reading books from SB series and that I don't care about the characters because I genuinely did have fun and I do care about them. It's just that for me, RB series digs deeper into the characters and character-related conflicts than SB. Here in When I'm Gone, we are introduced to Reese Ellis who has a whole lot of complications happening with her character. She has a case of untreated dyslexia and a dark past which involves her family. Her problem isn't fully resolved here but we see her dealing with it and witness her easing herself away from the cloud of darkness that seems to always come along with her. Knowing about her situation, it is always a joy to see her happy and being excited about the things (even the small ones) that are happening to her. She really deserves happiness in her life. But then, Glines managed to throw in another curve ball. Oh god, the sequel will surely be a roller coaster ride for her character. It feels like she'll be completely thrown off with this very huge development in her life and I don't know how she'll react on this. It could go two ways. I don't know. I guess, I have to read the next book to find out. Thrown off or not, one thing is for sure: SHE'LL ALWAYS HAVE MASE COLT-MANNING BY HER SIDE. We have been introduced to Mase for a couple of books already and now it's time for us to read more about his character. We have seen Mase being so caring, loving, protective and so much more towards Harlow but nothing can be compared and nothing will beat with how he is towards Reese. He is all of that to Reese multiplied to hundreds or thousands more. The two traits of Mase that stood out in this story is on how understanding and patient he is and it was tested in this book several times. The end result, you'll just be over and over again swooning over Mase for being oh so perfect to Reese. He also does and says that right things (even the dirty ones) to her and the simplest of it all, he makes Reese so happy. She is definitely a lucky girl to catch Mase. NAN, YOU LITTLE BTCH! It's not a Rosemary Beach book if Nan isn't mentioned or if she doesn't make an appearance. An appearance that will make you want to tear your hair off of your head. Oh jeebus, she really just have to mess things up for others and for herself. Ughhh. But that short exchange she had with Mase really got to me. She's one misguided character. I pity her. Hi Harlow, Grant, Blaire, Rush and others who did cameo stuff in here! All in all, I had a great time reading it and just like any other Abbi Glines book, my emotions were out there. I got teary eyed in a few parts. Especially the ones with Mase's mother, Maryann. THIS IS ISN'T A STANDALONE. This is a part of a DUOLOGY. I think, you'll enjoy and appreciate this story more if you read the other books of the Rosemary Beach series. Though, it isn't a necessity to read the others to understand what happens in this book.

When I’m Gone is filled with so many emotions that I am not sure you all want to hear them all…Hot cowboy, strong independent women and states apart, two not so likely people will find each other and try to make it work and its beautiful! I loved this book, I loved it because it made me so happy inside to see a man, Mase, put his all into a women who maybe was strong on the outside but needed some help being a little bit stronger on the inside. Not matter what Mase, always seemed to make sure Reese had a smile on her face and a future to hold onto. Reese might not have had the easy life like Mase , being a Manning and all, but she worked hard for what she had and worked with her undiagnosed disability the best she knew how. Then when these two worlds collide things get crazy good! Can Mase make Reese open up and let him in, show her no matter where he is form and what has happened to her he will be her rock? Oh my I loved Mase, I loved him when I meet him way back in Harlow’s book. I have read many books with men that are strong and caring and giving but Mase he was just different, he was so genuine and caring and loving and just filled with so much it was crazy to read. There is a part at the end of the book when his mother explains him and I cried from the start if the chapter to the end (around page 239) she was Right-on and just wow. Reese and Mase take it slow in the start; with the past Reese has she needs it. After they meet one day while she is cleaning Nan’s place she never thought a guy like him would be interested in a simple girl like her but after that meeting Reese life changes and it’s so cool to watch! Reese will find out Mase is a Manning, yep his dad was a rock star and he shares that Dad with some of the other characters from The Rosemary Beach series so you will for sure be seeing them in this one as well. Reese will try her best to fit into this crazy life all these people have made with each other! It’s was so fun to read I get giddy when I talk about it because I love this series and now getting to really meet Mase, well it was so awesome…he was SO…AWESOME…and Reese is the women he needs to spoil and that he will!! But there are always ups and downs in a story, right, and in this one they were crazy because there were times when I wanted to jump into this one and smack both of them lol. But in the end I was jumping around like a kid yelling GO MASE and REESE! I can’t wait for book 2 from these 2 its going to be even better I mean HOT A** cowboy and crazy awesome girl Reese!!

When Mase uncovers one of her hidden shames, everything changes. Any adult dealing with a learning disability tends to struggle more so than a child. Especially if it has never been properly diagnosed or addressed. The way in which Mase handles this issue is a testament to the man he is. Beautifully written and caustically sweet, When I’m Gone is going down a favorite of mine. Blog stop is April 8th Follow us on KT Book Reviews Twitter Facebook Pinterest

When I'm Gone is one of those books. For the most part, I really liked this one. In fact, Mase and Reese are my second favorite couple of the series with Blair and Rush being my first loves. I think much of this is due to the fact that this book deals with some pretty heartbreaking realities that do occur in our society and Abbi does a good job as showing us this without all the telling. Another reason I like this couple (and book) far better then some of the others in the series is that Mace is a total alpha male with a protective heart. He is just amazing at taking care of Reese and making her feel like an important person- something she has deserved but never received. I guess it’s the fact that he is the hero who rescues the damsel in distressed that really had my heart pumping. Oh! And I don’t want to forget that there’s something about a protective cowboy that get’s my blood flowing as well. They are my FAVORITE kind of heroes. So overall, this is a really great addition in the series and frankly, one of my favorites. ABOUT THE BOOK When the book begins, readers can get a glimpse into how Reese came to be the quiet, shy, and terrified girl that she is. I won’t get into the reasoning because I think this is something that readers need to explore on their own as they attempt to get to know her. I will say though that her circumstances are very dark and heartbreaking. As the story progresses though, she opens up a bit more and getting to understand her is pretty easy. Then, comes Mace. Strolling out in all his glory when Reese is working at his sister’s house one day. Some may say it’s fate that these two meet. And yes, I would agree. What progresses from these two as the book goes on is absolute beauty. Their love shines through the pages and the way Mace handles the situation is glorious. Reese does come out of her shell as well as their relationship progresses and it’s nice to see her start to overcome her demons. But then, something shocking happens in the end… And readers will have to read the second book in this couple’s story to understand the magnitude of it… OVERALL THOUGHTS OF THE BOOK As I mentioned, this is one of my favorites of the series. I think it’s because their progressing love story just feels genuine. However, one of the things that I don’t care for is the length. I can’t understand why some writers feel it is necessary to rush a love story in 250 pages. Had the time been taken to really write the story and allow us to get to know her characters on a deeper level (which is kind of needed in this one considering the darkness behind it) then I would have given it more than 4 stars. 2 underwhelming stars I've really enjoyed Abbi Glines for a few years now, and some of her books are absolute favorites of mine, but I think I'm going to take a break from her writing. All of her books are becoming rather formulatic, and while that's fine, something about this insta-love/lust scenarios combined with reallly short (and frankly, overpriced) stories is not working for me anymore. Mase was sweet at the beginning, but then his character became a watered down version of some of the other heroes in this series. Reese wasn't any better. Her character was just there for most of the book, and her backstory made absolutely no sense with the amount of naivety she displayed. Honestly, I would have much preferred her past had made a her stronger and jaded ( albeit cautious). Basically, this story was not enjoyable for me. I couldn't connect with the characters and honestly wanted this book to just end from the 75% mark on. The drama was also incredibly cliché.
