The first part was all action/ fight scenes. Some good backstories too.. I liked how cleverly it was written. Then the next part- my favorite: Shiro &Ganta moments.. They are super sweet together! And they even declared their love to each-other! The ending is perfect! Now that wretched-egg returned, Then let the showdown begin!

Continues to be such a great series. Everyone bands together to fight the KO squad of the Ninben. Once again their painful pasts are brought up, but this time everyone gets the chance to actually show what happened that hurt them. By looking back at their pasts they also get the chance to work through their problems, something they obviously seriously needed. This is where you get to learn the backstory to the majority of the cast. You get to see why they're in prison and most of the stories are actually interesting. It's a bit formulaic but damn if it didn't make the emotional fights that much better. Overall solid volume once more! This is where you get to learn the backstory to the majority of the cast. I loved this volume. It's so good! Senji is so cool, I love him! I don't understand Shiro. Is she two people? Or is she possessed or something. I loved this volume. It's so good! Senji is so cool, I love him! I don't understand Shiro. Is she two people? Or is she possessed or something.

Very intriguing. I loved the character backgrounds that were revealed in this volume. Choplin, the transgender woman, has a VERY interesting (and sad) story

Okay, now THIS is what I'm talking about. We get to learn some of the deepest fears of the Deadmen, we get to see some of the new branches of sin and we get some really kickass fights. Really bloody, really painful fights, but that's okay. :) The backstories were really the highlight for me though. I just loved getting a chance to see all these people before all the terrible stuff went down that stuck them in jail in the first place. Okay, now THIS is what I'm talking about. How could you do this to me? They finally, FINALLY, proclaim their love for each other and then you "kill" her to bring back the Wretched Egg?!?!?!?! My emotions are real and they are fragile. And then no library in the state of Maryland has the next book in the series. Like, what the actual fuck? Is everyone in on the joke to torment me? Because it's working. How could you do this to me? This volume has a lot of nice merits that try to conclude the second arc of the story. Makina summons three acquaintances and fires most of the guards of DW (who oddly enough resign and join her dangerous quest to arrest Tamaki). However a handful of unusually powerful Ninben have showed up to foil Ganta and Makina's plans. Despite the unfavorable odds, the very same Deadmen that gave their backs to Ganta in the previous volume have decided to risk their lives and help Ganta. We get to discover the past of some of the Deadmen and how they likely ended up in DW. We already knew the past of Seiji and Minatsuki from the anime (view spoiler)[(albeit the manga changes some things proving Seiji was framed just like Ganta whereas in the anime he killed his former coworkers when he manifested his ability for the first time) (hide spoiler)] . I find some parts of the volume to be predictable shounen fanfare with ever more powerful but not quite so enemy-of-the-week with gruelsome super power and the expected power-up ability of the teenager male hero. I will also like to comment the manga is starting to tread away from dystopian horror and more towards mainstream action. I was quite surprised from the more toned down theme of this volume. Still, it's mostly a good series that deserves the hype despite its flaws.

So Toto is basically made up of different parts of Deadmen - no wonder his (?) personality is apparently different to how it was in the past. Now, that was a reveal I appreciated. The whole Madoka (view spoiler)[betraying them (hide spoiler)] thing was kind of predictable though, and of course they persevered only to have shit kick off at the last second! That being said, we do get the Red Man in charge rather than Shiro now, and hopefully Ganta will finally figure out it is her, though it seems like Toto is going to interfere in some way. It will be interesting to see what Tamaki has in store for them next as well.

The rapid-fire pace of this series continues to define Deadman Wonderland as a silly, over-the-top page turner, yet this volume manages to spare some pages for some interesting, nuanced back story. As a 13 years old, 13 years ago, this was a masterpiece. I remember waiting every weekend for a new chapter of Deadman Wonderland and Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu to be scanlated. But as I read this now, I realize how cringy and lame it is, how often unoriginal, banal, over-sentimental. Just horrible. I think I enjoyed this a lot because I had not real taste in manga. I don't like this one bit. But since I am half-way through I will try to go through the next volume and see if I want to continue or As a 13 years old, 13 years ago, this was a masterpiece. Good volume, I liked learning more about the past of the deadman prisoners. This volume was probably one of the goriest but I'm not bothered by that and it's part of this story. I'm dreading what's happening to Shiro, of course I know there will be bad times for her, and that she's not what Ganta thinks she is, but she's still been my favourite character and one of the most interesting ones because there's such a mystery around her. This is an intense volume! Ganta and his allies face off against the KO Unit in a series of kinetic, vibrant combat action sequences compellingly blended with flashback memories. Shiro is my favorite character in this series and her part in this book is intense, gut-wrenching and heartbreaking. Her relationship with Ganta deepens, but there are hints perhaps of a future betrayal. This is a wonderful series and this is my favorite volume so far.

In this, the 8th volume of Deadman Wonderland, the Deadman are in a battle against the KO group. This is a fairly action packed episode of the books which are about people jailed in a prison and forced to battle in a gladiator style amusement park called Deadman Wonderland. The story moves along well and the artwork is very good.

This is hands down my favorite volume so far. The action packed, emotional fights were full of backstory! The twisted thoughts of Shinju and the double personalities of Shiro!! Now that the Wretched Egg is back, shit’s about to go down.

Not as fun as some of the other ones, particularly because of a certain character’s past. But things happened and I think that everything is about to go wrong!

Wasn't a fan of this one. A whole lot of nothing and going no where. Lots of blood for really no reason. Badly drawn action scenes compared to other manga I've read. The end of the volume was actually pretty decent, but not enough to make up for the rest of it. Wasn't a fan of this one. A whole lot of nothing and going no where.
