2 generous stars. DNF @75 %. No real pleasure but a struggle… Sadly, this is another of those books that started off good (look at the quotes) and then somewhere along the line my interest petered out because it was a total bore. No need to beat the proverbial bush, the plot was just 'blah' and I won't waste any time to review this thoroughly. Initially, I thought the heroine would be strong and feisty but unfortunately she came off as pretty tearful. Also, the story took a few turns into Sapsvill 2 generous stars. DNF @75 %. No need to beat the proverbial bush, the plot was just 'blah' and I won't waste any time to review this thoroughly. Initially, I thought the heroine would be strong and feisty but unfortunately she came off as pretty tearful. Also, the story took a few turns into Sapsville which did not appeal to me at all. I think I was also bored because there was too much telling and not enough showing. Given the fact that this was supposed to be a biker book, I just expected to experience the story through action. Give me some grit, for Pete's sake! Imagine, Remmy (view spoiler)[got hurt (hide spoiler)] and it happened off page!?! I must have looked quite perplexed because I. Could. Not. Believe. It. And the nickname/endearment lady got on my last nerve after a while. All kinds of tightening... His gut tightened His chest tightened His jaw tightened Every muscle in his body tightened His chest tightened ---> again Her jaw tightened ---> she had to follow his example His gut tightened ---> again Her lower stomach tightened His gut tightened ---> again Remmy's jaw tightened ---> again His neck tightened ---> because gut and jaw are not enough? His brows lowered and his mouth tightened His balls tightened ---> that's understandable …his jaw tightening ---> at least it wasn't Remmy this time around Remmy's gut tightened ---> when are we done? Remmy's chest tightened ---> I think I lost count by now His balls tightened ---> yeah…that's all right …at the same time his gut tightened ---> almost there… …chest tightened ---> I think we're through now …and all kinds of softening… He softened his voice He softened his voice ---> again Kurt's mouth softened Risa's eyes softened His lips softened and he moved… …yet his eyes softened His eyes softened. His mouth softened. Kurt's eyes softened and he dipped his chin. …his gaze softening. Rain's gaze softened. His mouth softened and he leaned down… His eyes softened, his mouth… Natalie softened in understanding. Kurt's eyes softened and went… Bottom line, Struggling for Justice went south real fast after my update at 38 %, and that's why I decided to wave the white flag at 75 %. Onwards...

Love this series so much. Low angst..loyal characters and sexy love story. Can't ask for more. Remmy and Natalie really warmed my heart. They both accepted each others pasts and became each others futures. Debra just keeps a smile on my face with this series. Now I have to build up my nerves for Ink and Lilly.. his history is gonna be harder for me to accept. Love this series so much. Low angst..loyal characters and sexy love story. Can't ask for more. Feeding my addiction for the Bantorus MC once again. As always, I am never disappointed with one of Debra Kayn's biker books. She has a way of drawing you into the story from the very first few words. This story starts with Remmy Hollis, VP of Bantorus MC, Federal Chapter, witnessing a woman and man arguing in a parking lot and he rescues her. The woman turns out to be Natalie Oman. She was the wife of the owner of Meghoni Mines who was killed by Los Li a year ago. Is Natalie being here a set up by Los Li or is she really in need of being helped? Remmy isn't one to settle down. He has always taken pride in his life style of living life to the fullest and one night stands. But, Natalie needs help and he gives it to her (including letting her sleep in his bed). Will she be able to break the bad boy of his wicked ways as she starts falling for him? As they grow closer, so does the threat of Will, Natalie's former brother-in-law, who keeps trying to come around and talk with Natalie. What does he really want and is he really a threat? He claims he wants the case opened again to prove his brothers' case wasn't murder/suicide and it was murder. The Bantorus members don't want this coming out because it will bring Los Li back to town to retaliate. Then, just what everyone feared happens. Los Li are back. This was a hard book to put down.

Debra Kayn's fast becoming a favourite author; she writes darn good stories, her characters are well developed & incredibly appealing with very evident real flaws & frailties. Remmy & Natalie are classic Kayn & I love that her characters are not hampered by ageism. Everyone isn't young; she acknowledges that great romance & blazing hot sex doesn't have to cease when you reach a certain age! Love it! http://ripeforreader.blogspot.com/201... My rating: 4.5 of 5 ⭐️ Never having been one to tie himself down too much, Bantorus MC's Remmy Hollis is content as VP of the Federal Charter. Even though he is the oldest member, he enjoys the freedom to come and go too much to give it up for the kind of responsibility that comes with the presidency. Fast living, fast women and fast bikes - although, at his ripe age of forty-eight, he finds himself admitting it's not as attractive as it used to be. What is http://ripeforreader.blogspot.com/201... What is attractive, however, is the put-together lady he just rescued from a confrontation with some guy on the streets of Federal. Not only that, he put her on the back of his bike. That's a first. The lady in question, Natalie Orman, turns out to be the widow of the owner of the Meghoni Mine. Same mine that was tied in with Los Li's nefarious plans in Federal a year ago when the club president's woman was kidnapped. Natalie is under the impression her husband committed an atrocious act of murder followed by his own suicide and lives with the question if there had been anything more she could have done. The constant conflict with his family since his death has left her almost destitute and alone, so when a big burly and bossy biker comes along and literally plants her on the back of his bike; she is glad to hand off the reigns for a few. Despite initial misgivings as to whether Natalie's presence in Federal was a coincidence or a clever ploy orchestrated by Los Li, Remmy's interest is more than peaked. And he is not alone. The fire that flares up between them is hot and intense and leaves no doubt as to what Remmy's intentions are toward Natalie. But as it turns out, Los Li most certainly does have some hand in the recent goings on around the Meghoni Mine and the Bantorus MC has their hands full making sure another one of their women does not fall victim to their cruelty. ***** THANK YOU!!! Debra. For making my Remmy so perfect!!! I have to tell you, after reading Fighting To Ride, the previous book in the series, I mentioned to the amazing Debra Kayn that I could not WAIT for the delicious older and more mature Remmy to have his own story. Little did I know that at that time, she was already plotting his book!! THIS book! I adore Remmy's stance in life. He doesn't apologize for his choices, for his lifestyle or for his past. He owns it all. But he has lived hard, indulged and now, having mellowed with age, finds himself looking at something he truly didn't think was in the cards for him. A permanent commitment. He never realized it wasn't as much about the permanency of the commitment, but about whom he made it to. And he knew, almost right off the bat, he knew that Natalie - his lady - was his 'someone special'. Even long before he had bedded her, she stirred feelings in him that up to then had been foreign to him. The beauty of age is that you learn to accept things at face value, which is exactly what Remmy does. He doesn't question, or fight it, he simply accepts that his priorities have changed and changes his ways to fit. Natalie, despite her forty years, is a relative innocent as it comes to the ways of the world. And yet she is not a stupid woman, she simply has not had a lot of personal experience. Having survived a pretty devastating loss of someone she had a less than healthy relationship with, she was eager to find some self-respect and balance in her life. Not willing to change or deny herself to suit someone else, she is determined to stand strong. Again, age for her plays a huge factor in her favor. Even though it may make her a bit self-conscious at first, it also gives her the courage to grab on to what is offered her with both hands. And that is exactly what she does. The dynamic in more mature 'new love' as compared to young 'new love' can be so different in that it is much more direct and straight forward, more clear on what it is we need and are looking for. The change of pace is refreshing! Loved having a visit to Pitnam, seeing the whole crew again, touching on their lives and getting a sense of developments. But make no mistake, you don't have to have read every book to be able to enjoy this one. Each of Debra's books can be read as a standalone, however, I find it helpful to read them chronologically so I can really experience the life of the characters. Debra Kayn's style is all her own. Rich scenes and warm atmosphere is created, drawing inspiration from life around her in the small town in the Bitterroot Mountains where she lives with her family. Her love for life comes through in her books, as does her passion for a badass biker man..... she oughta know, she married one many moons ago. And they do live happily ever after........ on cheesecake!!! ✨Remmy is my kinda man!!✨ **Copy provided in return for an honest review.**

This book picks up almost a year after Fighting to Ride book 5 in this series. Natalie Oman's husband was one of two brothers murdered by Los Li, the Mexican mafia. The three Oman brothers own Meghoni Mine. The mine is what sustains the town with jobs. To the public it looks like Natalie's husband killed one of his other brothers then killed himself. Natalie has knowledge no one else does about her husband and thinks that there was a good possibility that's what happened. The remaining Oman brother says no way and wants Natalie to help open a new investigation into the two other Oman brother's deaths. He can't believe it was murder/suicide. Remmy Hollis is the oldest of the Bantourus guys in Federal MC. He's always gone his own way and enjoyed being single. Remmy comes to Natalie's rescue when he sees a man harassing her in a parking lot. He puts her on his bike and for guys in the MC that place is reserved for a woman for one of two reasons. Either she's in trouble or she's his wife. Natalie certainly qualifies for the first one. As Remmy finds out more about Natalie and her situation he feels guilt and he is attracted more and more to her. He knows that Los Li is responsible for her husband's death but no one can know that. It has to remain a secret because if it doesn't Los Li will definitely be back. Unfortunately Natalie's brother in law won't let it go. This is just one more exciting chapter into Debra Kayn's Bantourus MC series. The series keeps expanding to include a new generation and they are proving to be just as good as the original crew which luckily still pops up in these newer books. Remmy has to struggle with what's right and wrong and with his heart. He never thought he's find someone to love but even though he and Natalie seem like opposites they still seem to fit together quite nicely. Natalie has no idea how a Motorcycle club works but for Remmy she's willing to learn. It's fun to watch the two interact and deal with their attraction and the real danger Los Li presents. The secondary characters take turns stepping into the spotlight as well and give you a glimpse into future situations. Another great addition to the Bantourus MC series.

That was good reason enough to move from his home in Pitman to Federal with the new MC crew. But then he sees Natalie and jumps to help her. To make matters worse, he puts her on the back of his bike. I big no-no for a biker unless she was his old lady. I loved Remmy's tender heart and how he helped Natalie when she needed it most. Natalie is my heroine because she managed to adapt in a house full of bikers with their rules and "bitches". I admire her for not asking Shari to go away knowing that Remmy had a relation with her. Great story again and a big surprise for me - Remmy.

You can feel the struggle through the book as he fights to tell her while also protecting his club. For this post I decided to share some of my favorite quotes from the book because I don't want to give the secret away. Ms. Kayn works her magic again and weaves this story around us until you have no choice, but to see it through to the end. She makes these hard bikers show their soft side without losing their edge. It is a fine line she walks, but one she does oh so well. She makes you yell at the book; she makes your heart break when the characters are about to break. She makes you feel the love between them and can't help, but wish that also for yourself. She makes you laugh! If that is not a sign of a great author I don't know what is! Everyone knows in this MC genre that either it works or it doesn't ~ with Debra Kayn it works every time! Pick up this book ~ you will regret it if you don't! ~Shauna~

I was willing to let that go, until you started talking, and I liked what you had to say and how you said it. Then you nailed me, lady. Nailed. Me." I loved the sweet, funny side of Remmy when he wasn't with his brothers, "yeah. Your a** is a lot warmer than your feet were last night when I crawled into bed after the meeting. Coldest damn toes I've ever felt." He chuckled, giving her backside a slap." He's not one to appreciate gratitude, "stop thanking me." He slapped her on the a** to get moving. There are very few authors that I will drop anything I'm reading when a new release comes out. Debra Kayn is one of them. Bantorus MC series remains in my top 5 MC favorites with the addition of Remmy & Natalie to the story line! This series always makes me laugh and cry. I was ready to swoon with Remmy's nickname for Natalie. Every girl should be someone's Lady. Remmy was just freaking amazing! My fingers are crossed that Ink will be the next book in the series.  There are very few authors that I will drop anything I'm reading when a new release comes out. Whenever I see a new Bantorus MC book, I buy instantly. Debra has a way of telling a story. Her characters are all likeable, but especially the biker men. And Remmy doesn't disappoint!! He is one of the older members from Pitnam chapter, that went to Federal chapter as VP. So, he's seen it all, done it all, but one look at Natalie and he's done. Loved him! Liked this one more than the previous. Love Remmy - have since the beginning. Natalie got on my nerves a wee bit and not really sure why. Looking forward to Los Li getting what they deserve and there's 2 more books to get there (in this series anyway). Going to move on to Lee's story and really looking forward to that as he is a very intriguing character - also Shari. Liked this one more than the previous. Love Remmy - have since the beginning. I got hooked from readingmey Breathing his air and it was no different with Struggling for Justice, she writes such a love story you fall in love with Remmy and glad he's happy with Natalie, even though I wish it was me in his arms instead of her! I loved the story and couldn't put the book down, and didn't want it to end. I can't wait to read another book of hers! So glad that Remmy got his HEA with his Lady. Love when an author shows there is love (and sex)after 40.
