I read the first one in this series as a freebie from Amazon and liked Emily & Robert so much I immediately downloaded this, the second book in the series. Their story was great and the action was very dense and fast paced for a novella. That they had a history established in the first book helped move the plot along, but it was still nice to watch them acknowledge their feelings and see how the relationship blossomed. I also enjoyed the Cornwall setting and to learn something about smuggling in the area. While it wasn't as sweet as the first story, Emily has quite a bit of backbone and isn't as vulnerable as her cousin Olivia, it is still quite lovely and worth a read.

Good and sweet novella, just like it predecessor. It is well written, because many things happen and the love story is credible and nice, all in almost 90 pages. I loved the setting, which is Cornwall (perfect place for a clean romance regency, with a dark-ish touch); it never fails. Our two MC, Emily and Robert, discover a band of smugglers. A nice way to make a bond Even the ending was good, zero melodrama (like the last Regency romance I've read, where the heroine was moping around because th Good and sweet novella, just like it predecessor. Luckily Emily is far from being silly) **I got a free copy in exchange of an honest review".

3.5 stars for this fun regency romance. I loved Emily's personality when I read about her in Scandal at Dawn. I am glad she got her own story. The mystery was a fun addition to the romance. I didn't know who was helping the bad guy--which was a nice surprise! I LOVED the nod Elizabeth Cole gave to one of my favorite movies, The Princess Bride.
