**I want to thank the author for allowing me the opportunity to read this book for free in exchange for an honest review.** Imagine being able to influence the dreams of people who are guilty of hurting you or your family. Amelia Equiano has that unique ability and is using it to get long overdue justice. I first fell in love with Amelia in the first book of the series, "Bird", and only grew more in love with her in this book. I first fell in love with Amelia in the first book of the series, "Bird", and only grew more in love with her in this book. She is such an amazing woman and I thoroughly enjoy her relationship with Wilbert, her father-figure/best friend. The overall story is heart-wrenching and the message is inspiring and uplifting at the same time as being sad. I won't go on because I don't want to give too much away. I will just leave you with this, if you have not read the first book in the series, go get it and then read this book - trust me, you won't be disappointed.

Wow, The Enchanted did not disappoint. I loved it! If Bird was about race, love, family, and hate ~ The Enchanted was about consequences, equality, hope, and justice. As much as I loved Emily and Josiah in the first book, I adore Amelia all grown up as a smart, idealistic young woman. 18th century San Francisco was an amazingly colorful backdrop for this captivating sequel. The Sanderson's prove to be wonderful villains and I am pleased with Amelia's unique gift, as well as her thirst for justice against all odds. This is a richly written historical fiction, that plays with the supernatural in just the right way. If you have not yet read Tami Egonu, please read Bird, and then read this sequel~ you won't be disappointed.

I have to start by admitting that the second part of The Bird Trilogy, 'The Enchanted' captured my interest and my sympathy more than the first part did. I especially loved two things about the book, the first being the relationship between Amelia and Wilbert, how they are united by shared sorrow, and also by their love and support for each other; the second being the intelligent application of revenge and justice. I could relate to Amelia's longing for justice and approved of its administration I have to start by admitting that the second part of The Bird Trilogy, 'The Enchanted' captured my interest and my sympathy more than the first part did. I could relate to Amelia's longing for justice and approved of its administration without the heroine sullying her own soul. Guilt is such a universally present emotion, we have all felt it at some point, and it is uplifting to see how it can right many wrongs. All in all, I am looking forward to reading the last part of the trilogy and finding out how Amelia's quest progresses!

Gush, gush, gush! This book deserves to be gushed over. I’m so glad I gave this author a chance. It’s rare I read a sequel that is equal to the task of book 1. So it looks like The Enchanted is proving to prove me wrong. Some historical novels leave me cold. These 2 books are worth reading as they are heartbreaking and heartwarming, and different. Amelia is a wonderful character with unusual abilities. So here’s the thing, I want to tell all about it but I don’t want to spoil the surprises at ev Gush, gush, gush! I enjoyed seeing what happened to little Amelia and where she ended up. Can't wait to see what else happens. I would have loved it if we could have seen more of Josiah and Emily in the previous book. Those that have read it will know what I mean. :) And lets not forget Wilbert, hoping he also has a happy ending. I enjoyed seeing what happened to little Amelia and where she ended up. I did not want to finish this book and now that I have I’m excited about the final book to come in this trilogy. A smart execution of revenge and vivid scenes of 1800’s London and San Francisco made this a fascinating read. Amelia and Wilbert are a refreshing double act and I love them both but I still ache for Josiah and Emily and I'm excited about what is to come. I highly recommend this book. Great characters and a different approach to revenge. Grown up Amelia is awesome and I can’t wait to find out what happens next.
